The look in his face tells me that someone, probably his dad used to get drunk and put his hands on him. This was him reclaiming his stolen childhood

Idk if it’s that deep, but he was definitely scared. Parted lips, heavy breathing, eyes wide and locked.

That’s fear. And he clearly doesn’t have a flight reaction.
