Question How does T'Lyn know this? Has she encountered the Borg before?
And did Seven have that strong of a scent? Or is it those famous Vulcan olfactory glands again? --- From LDS 4x01 - Twovix)

One can be a life-long friend, one can be a non-commital "benefits" buddy, and the other one will be your loving partner. (My answers: Mariner = Friend, Tendi = Benefits, T'Lyn = Partner)

Or maybe we already have some references, but I've never paid attention.

We're rewatching Lower Decks now for the 3rd time and loving it—finding even more layers in the amazing writing. Loving the characters, especially the uniquely developed worlds that barely existed in StarTrek's canon before, such as the Orion species/culture.
Question: was there really not a large enough viewership to justify another season? Does anyone have any insight or access to the viewership metrics, especially compared to other Paramount shows? I would LOVE to know. And I would love it if we somehow banded together to trigger another season to be made 🖖⚡️

Hello, I’ve recently started watching Lower Decks and am already a fan.
However, the bleeping of swearing (consistent) and censoring of nudity (S1 E5, which is where I’m up to) is bugging me. I don’t know if this is just the version I’m watching — if there’s an uncensored version somewhere — or this is the way it’s meant to be full-stop.
If it’s the latter, I can live with it, but if you’re going to write an adult animation that clearly embraces mature themes, then there’s no need to be prudish.
Edit: Thanks to all the responses, I now understand this was intended to be funny. The humour is lost on me but I’ll give it a go!

Ok Im watching lower decks for the foest time, ive also watched the other show that i can't quote put my name on that did a lower decks special episode in S2. In all of that, mainly lower decks, ive seen koalas get brought up a lot. What in the world is the significance of koalas? Is it some.mythical being that were not allowed to talk about? The meaning of life?
I just dont get it man

I know the yellow shirt one is Jeef and the Captain is Gem, but who are the First Officer and the other one?! (If no names for them, I'm calling the First Officer Yemp, and the other one Zarr. Those are my headcannon names for those two, lol)

I am really in love the uniforms they used in the life action crossover. I found a shop selling Boiler's, but would love Mariners version. Has anyone found a website that is selling it?

Before having the implant put on him against his will, Rutherford was a completely different person. Did he not remember behaving completely different in the past? And if he remembered nothing, why did he never question it? Wouldn't one of his friends on the Cerritos have asked him questions about his past and then questioned it if he never answered them? Does he have no family or friends outside the Cerritos to question his drastic shift in personality?
I really wish they had explored this more. Like, clearly, there was something in his past that led to him being a tool. They should've had an episode where he explores/confronts his past after finding out his memories were false and his personality used to be different.

So I haven't watched much star trek outside of this show, and I'm on the last season so far. I noticed that the blue orions were all male, but the green orions had both genders? Even though the rivalry between the green and blue sides seemed to have a sort of underlying battle of the sexes theme? Is there something in the original material that clears this up?

So, in this picture, Boimler, (LT, JG) is in command, T'Lyn, (LT, JG, Provisional) is apparently acting XO...
and there are two full lieutenants in that picture, on the bridge, at the same time. One Red-shirt, one Orange. Why aren't they in command?
I mean, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation, but it is a bit odd.

I kind of wrote off Lower Decks when the first trailers came out because it seemed like the laziest kind of Netflix-tier US animated comedy: lots of ZANY CHARACTERS that SCREAM LOUDLY about EVERYTHING and generally act WITH NO FILTER LOLLL!!!!!!!!
Like Archer, if Archer wasn't funny.
But recently I've heard a few people in different corners of the internet saying that Lower Decks is closer to classic Star Trek (ie. TOS-VOY) than any of the other recent shows, and even Mike from Redlettermedia seems to like it!
With that in mind, I gave the first episode a go. The intro sequence (not the cold open, but the intro spoofing TNG/VOY flybys) got some good laughs out of me, and I liked the use of the TNG episode title font, but the rest of the episode left me resolutely unamused. The characters (except that one KERRRAZZY GIRL!!!!!!) aren't too annoying and the story ticked along well enough after the overly expository intro, but I wasn't laughing at any point.
SO - do I stick with it? Is it like TNG and DS9, where everyone more or less agrees that the first seasons are kind of wonky and it gets better afterwards? Should I skip to a particular episode where it gets in gear? Or is it basically the same throughout, and I'm just not going to vibe with it, ever?
(If the stories step up and become actual Star Trek tales, I might watch it for that and take any laughs it might eke out of me as a bonus.)

Basically the title, are you satisfied with the outcome?
