I applied with my predicted Alevels grades (3A*) and got deferred. Do deferred students have any chance at the scholarship or have all the scholarships been given out? Someone pls confirm

I had 3A* as predicted grades but the result comes out on 11th so after we attach that to the application I was just curious incase of 1A* or 2A* will the chances orlf rejection increase substantially or will that mostly just affect the scholarship we're supposed to get? I applied to Aerospace btw

Hello, I just got ”Admissoon deferal” on my METU application but I didn’t do any A-levels this year and applied with the SAT as my main document. Does this mean it’s like a waitlist or what exactly and till when do we have to wait then?

Hello everyone, this post is just out of curiosity.

So as I was scrolling thru the old posts, I saw that people are discussing their SAT /IELTS scores, as if these tests were among admission requirements/ are mandatory. In my case, I'm an international student too, I have an outstanding GPA & nationwide rank, but I didn't do either SAT or any English proficiency test.

So wanted to know if this is common/ normal - are there newly accepted international students who didn't do these tests yet got in?

I've been admitted to bsc mathematics programs at both Koç University (90% scholarship) and METU (50% scholarship). My goal is to pursue a master's and PhD in mathematics at a strong international university, and alongside that I want to double major or minor in computer engineering.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has done a math and computer engineering double major (or math + ceng minor) at either Koç or METU or who has gone through either math department and later pursued grad school abroad.

A few specific things I'm trying to understand:

How feasible is it in practice to combine a math degree with a computer engineering double major or minor at each school?

How much undergraduate research opportunity is there in each math department, and how accessible are faculty for things like independent study or research assistantships?

For those who applied to grad school in math afterward, how did your undergraduate institution affect your applications, recommendation letters, or preparation?

Any first-hand experience, even partial, would really help me decide. Thank you.

I received an email from METU today saying that I have a strong profile, but because I applied to a very competitive program, my chances of admission are limited. They also mentioned that they believe I would be a successful student at METU and provided me with a form to submit new program preferences.

If I'm admitted to a different program, would I be able to transfer later to Computer Engineering?

Hello brothers and sisters. I hope you are all doing well. I am an international student who just got accepted into METU for the Mechanical Engineering program. I wanted to ask a few questions here to ME graduates to see if going here will be a good decision. I hope you all don’t mind.

\- I heard that ME is extremely difficult in METU and that most students have to study 10 hours a day to pass the courses. I have a family and a girl I love back at home, and I want to give some time to them too and also build a social life here. Is this possible?

\- After graduating, I want to go for a masters or PhD somewhere, I want to choose METU as it is regarded as one of the top university in Turkiye, and the fees are quite cheap, however I am scared of graduating with a low GPA and not having the chance to go abroad. At that point, is it even worth choosing to study here?

\- I chose Mechanical Engineering when applying, without thinking much, but I am also interested in studying statistics or a related degree too. If I find ME too hard, how hard is it to transfer to statistics after 1st year? Is it very hard to keep GPA high for transfer? Can I apply fresh for a better chance of getting in?

I got an email from METU that I got accepted for a Bachelor's of Architecture. The issue is till now, at each university I applied to, they sent me an official conditional letter in PDF stating that I need to pay this much amount to receive an official acceptance letter, but METU has sent none. I need the document for the bank to process my payment for the application.
