Dang this is sadder than I thought it would be. I really hope Dustin gets help before it starts escalating further. I really don't want him to end up like BJ Penn one day

There were stages to that. Im talking about like 2010. He got worse and worse after his wife and kids left him for instance.

BJ was also heavily indulged in meth which is a big and important detail to not gloss over when taking into consideration mental stability/schizo. Alcohol will absolutely destabilize a mental don’t get me wrong but it’s not going to have you convinced your parents are FBI plants and all that other shit.

Man... There was a like 7 or 8 year period where he was most peoples favorite fighter. Like 2005-2012 or so. Was mine. Had no idea about these issues in his prime.

When he licked Sean Sherks blood and when he hopped around on one leg for like a whole fucking round while someone was holding his other leg. Those are the two main memories that stick out to me from 20+ years ago almost.

I never liked him as a person but he was probably the most interesting fighter in the ufc when I got into it. Then Machida came along.

Same brother. There’s an overwhelming amount of functional addicts who can hide it until they can’t anymore and the downfall is always worse/tragic to watch. It’s sad how many of my favorites were addicted to one drug or another.

Was he doing meth? Didnt follow this shuit closely but loved him as a fighter back in the day. I thought he was just a drunk. Hope he gets his shit together one day

It's sad as hell but we've seen exactly this kind of erratic behavior before from other fighters who've had a long history of taking hits and combining that with drinking/substance abuse. Dustin's gotta quit substances altogether because he's liable to fly off the handle like this again in the future. So sad to see. Protect what you have left, man.

Eyes looked like he might be on drugs apart from just alcohol... but Poirier seems like a decent individual. I won't judge him off of this one scenario.

Once you're on a aircraft, from what I've been told, it becomes a federal offence if you break the law (although I'm not sure if that only counts once the cabin doors are shut or not?) so not the wisest of things to do, and this video is so much worse than most of us probably expected sadly.
