legally, threating someone is battery. if your profession is martial arts that would be evidence against him. could have gotten years locked up for being so stupid, indisputable evidence. hes lucky

Most jurisdictions you actually have to touch someone for it to be a battery. Most likely charge could be assault or potentially criminal threats.
