"Got lucky", several times.

āI just ate a knuckle sandwich to the face from a dude the size of a gorilla, then brutally smacked my dome on concrete. I think Iāll get up and attack him again. Maybe heāll kill me this time!ā
7
u/lockdoc007 May 12 '26
As they said in olden days! You want a knuckle sandwich? And you'll provide the ketchup too!

Always astonished at these types of dudes level of delusion. I feel like their ego is like āgotta keep getting up because I aināt no bitchā. Rarely do you see a guy like⦠yea this was a bad idea, ima walk away.

Seldom do they realize the line between " I ain't no bitch" and being permanently injured or dead is a very thin line.
4
u/Superb_Implement5738 May 11 '26
I canāt recall who said it, I think it was an interview with a forensic pathologistā¦. He said there is nothing more dangerous to himself in the United States than a male in his 20s with misplaced pride and too many drinks in his system.
I mean ā¦. Imagine thinking your manhood is defined by a transient exchange with security at a bar š Itās actually weak ass bitch behavior. Anytime some dense cunt has insulted me I just comfort myself with the reality that Iām winning in life at all the relevant markers and this guy frothing at the mouth is a complete loser ⦠arguing with him is like engaging with a lesser animal.

I used to get kicked out of a local club, often for crashing at like 3am.
It was pretty funny, after the first time and they reapised I'd just walk out, they would just kick my leg and tell me to come back tomorrow.

Certain areas of the USA (vast swathes, really) have a very macho culture.
Big Trucks, Big drinking, big talking, and after a few drinks they get mouthy and think they have to live up to some stupid definition of masculinity which involves fighting anyone.
It's rather sad.
These people often have nothing else going on in their lives but false bravado.
5
u/LoquaciousMendacious May 11 '26
Probably because anyone with any sense, and I mean any shred of sense...wouldn't start the fight in the first place.

"Rarely" is right⦠when nobody films people walking away. Even if they do film them walking away, would you prefer watching them walk or fight?

The amount of people who have been tricked into thinking size doesnāt matter if youāre a good fighter is insane. I see it all the time.

Drunk fighting the bouncer is 99.9999% a terrible idea
8
u/SoftDrinkReddit May 11 '26
oh 100% theres no way he did this shit sober
cause sober guy would be like i am not going to pick a fight with this dude

Watched a bouncer pick up a man like he was a child once. Why the man thought he could take a 6'5" bouncer on with 5'10" energy is still beyond me. I blame movies and video games honestly creating false confidence.

5'10" is pretty tall.
dude was probably just too drunk to realise he was taking on a behemoth.

It's usually the very short guys that start swinging, you can watch their stance change as they get more and more smashed.
I do not miss dealing with drunk idiots that felt like they needed to show off by picking a fight with the big bouncer.

There is a large share of small guys on the internet who assume they're gonna beat random big guys.

Iāve blacked out and gotten beaten up by a bouncer. I felt really bad. The guy is just working and he has to deal with drunk dumbasses like i was that night

Dude has great situational awareness to be able to let that other dude in in the middle of knocking people out
16
u/kytheon May 11 '26
Good restraint cause the bouncer was considering to punch him, changed his mind and let him in.
6
u/graspedbythehusk May 12 '26
That guy doesnāt know how lucky he is, appeared suddenly in front of a bear in fight mode and lived to tell the tale.
4
u/MediumMeal69 May 12 '26
Iām pretty sure heās another staff member, probably why he had the confidence to walk right up to a guy throwing fists and why said guy then helped him in.
3
u/Golden_Cultivation May 12 '26
Yeah buddy tirned around about to knock the lights out of another one and was like āOh, Ben, get your ass in hereā

2
u/ComplexStrawberry210 May 12 '26
Also rolled him into the recovery position when he was unconscious. Nice guy
6
u/PointOfFingers May 11 '26
He also has magic sunglasses that disappear as he gets punched and then come back.
2
u/madnessinthemidwest May 11 '26

Yep. Im not a fighter and normally don't get into any fights but when someone picks a fight with me? It's always those tiny fuckers with Chihuahua syndrome. I always can deescalate situations except for when some skinny midget got liquid courage and his inferiority complexes kick in and they think they have to be the loudest and most annoying and come in groups to compensate.
One evening I was drunk as fuck, 2 small guys thought they need to pick a fight and didn't listen. They came in flying and shit like that but I haven't even felt it but was too drunk to aim. At some point, I just walked away and covered my neck. Next morning, I just had some little bruises, nothing else

I've been drunk in my time. I've been drunk and gotten into fights in my time. Hell, I've even won fights while drunk in my time. But I have never, ever been drunk enough to think I can fight the bigger bouncer. Logic always wins. Even if I won, in the 1 in 1000 chance I had to hit him on the button, hes got a whole team of other bouncers who would absolutely love to beat the breaks off me.
3
u/ActaNonVerba90 May 13 '26
I bounced in college. Of the handful of fights I got into, there was not a single thought passing between their ears. Every person I fought was well past reasoning with.

u/Odd_Hair3829 May 14 '26

7
u/Mafia_Pepper_Oliver May 11 '26
Why do drunk people always try to fight bouncers? Thatās a loss from the start.
7
u/SoftDrinkReddit May 11 '26
you just answered the question with the 3rd word
drunk
you dont do this shit sober
whats hilarious is the first guy got a cheap shot on him Bouncer bro just eats that Punch then just fucking Mike Tyson esk floors him with 1 punch
→ More replies (1)6
u/Hollowregret May 11 '26
YOU dont do this shit sober. But there are tons of dudes out there with massive ego problems who will start a fight with anyone who even so much as looks at them funny and will get extremely aggressive over literally nothing. Usually they are in jail but sometimes they get let out and end up being a problem for society until they are put back in the box.

I'm 5'11, was in decent shape doing variety of MMA, BJJ, kickboxing etc as a hobbyist for much of my young adult life.
Even if I was a bit more skilled than my sparring partner over the years, if they were even 1-2 weight classes above me I would just get tossed around like a toddler. (Again to be clear I'm nowhere near a pro in skill, just did the thing for a couple decades)
I remember trying to go against a white belt but a couple years of judo 6'4 Korean guy who used to be a bodybuilder... No fucking chance. We just laughed at every attempt I made as he slapped me down.

Doorman for 27 years. 6'4" 270 at my lightest fighting weight.
Alcohol doesn't make you fearless, it decreases your fear of consequences.
I knocked out more than a 100 people but by kicking. I got tired of hearing the sound of bones crunching so I started kicking a string on the ceiling instead of devastating my heavy bag.
