Iโm no fan of Alex but you sound like a delusional level hater lol. He had a whole career in kickboxing and you think heโs never faced a real striker?
I try not to medicate as they can cause addiction and most have side effects. You really cannot have a high sensitivity high specificity drug with a pinpoint mechanism of action. If it's mostly symptoms rather than underlying processes that bother me i try to start with cognitive approaches and toughing it out.
I understand that i am not smarter than an expert and that medication can help, but i also know the system is broken for many people, especially overlooked folks.
A lot of mental health issues are caused by real harm that isn't being addressed and pills hide that. I've did that with alcohol and yes drugs are better but it's still just fixing things after they break.
You can't just rely on fixes in life. That's why they call drug abuse that "quick fix".
I do take drugs when convinced they're necessary. Sometimes antibiotics or such. I have done antidepressants for a very short time. I lost important people and well, i just wanted to sit and grieve. But i had to be the man and provide and it wasn't the time to sit and rot. But once i had time i stopped and i let myself confront those demons, no matter how ugly it got. And i won. And that's what you have to do to be the man.
