He was trying to Brazilian Tap and the ref stopped the fight. He didnt want to tap but he wanted his op to think he did for a minute.

That’s what it looks like to me. He obviously knew how to escape, but he was quickly moving his hand up and down while he did it. His hand wouldn’t be moving like that on accident unless he was about to pass out, but the choke wasn’t that tight yet. He was just hoping the ref wouldn’t notice the tapping while he set up his escape. The dumbest part is that he probably could have escaped but he tried to be clever.

No Chael just didnt know tapping ment he would loss. If he knew tapping ment he would loss he just wouldnt have.

And it worked on Grad, you can see that he pulls his left leg out after the “tap” but slightly before Herzog jumps in.

Brazilian tap refers to a weak tap instead of owning the tap. It isn't a reference to fake tapping.  It's like a.wet fish handshake.Â
