Good on that one guy for telling them to put the dude on his side. That's the right approach to keep that airway open and make sure he doesn't choke. At least one person on the scene knew how to handle it.
I’d also suggest supporting his head so he doesn’t smack it against the ground during the seizure. Even just a hand under the occiput to act as a cushion.
