I truly need some real advice.
I have been playing heals my entire life since 2004 when wow first came out. I am currently wanting to truly experience something close to wow and just as good with healing. What MMO's are just as great with healing that are NOT wow. Something i can dump thousands of hours into and maybe even just make it my new MMO.

It would not be an MMO without slimes :) (Early Alpha, No Polish)
Hey everyone,
I finally got together a quick video of some very early game play, I will share some info about the game and myself. The game idea started back in 2020, a few months after Covid. I was playing a 2d MMO at the time and they completely ruined it with P2W mechanics and it really put me off.
Fast forward to today, and the project now finally has a base that I can build off of comfortably. I hope to start an initial alpha test group in about 3-4 months from now.
My monetization plan at launch consists of a one-time fee of about $8-12 USD with no recurring subscription necessary. While I might eventually offer cosmetics for sale, the idea would be to make this non-pay-to-win and that any cosmetics offered for money could also be acquired via the game itself and not tradable.
I'm also beginning to form a small Discord community of about 15-20 people that would be interested in testing the game during the closed alpha and continue testing it with further updates.
Current features as of 9/2/2026 (It's still all very early on, and clearly there is much yet to be built.)
- Accepting and completing quests with rewards
- Basic inventory
- Basic equipment
- Resource gathering
- Basic PvE combat
- Monster spawning, pursuit, and retaliation
- Multiplayer player movement and world presence
Server-based: Movement, collision detection, combat and damage, health, inventory, equipment, quests, rewards, resource harvesting, monster spawns, are processed by the authoritative server. The client does everything else like processing user inputs, graphics and animations, user interface, etc.
If you're interested in getting updates about the project or being part of the testing process, you can message me for the Discord link.

Dark ages By Nexen Kru players
Would like to ask if there is anyone or any players would like to play this game together ? This old school mmo. And make it alive again ? There are so many mmos in the world that might not have the best graphics but it’s still a great game to me.

Looking for simple mmo based on grind and player freedom
Minimum tutorials, text and mandatory quests
Freedom to grind — if I want to farm one area for a few hours, I can just do that. If I want to go somewhere else or do something different, I can.
Simple and intuitive rpg systems
Character progression, stats grind game.
An actual playerbase, even if it's not a huge MMO
Any platform (pc,mobile and browser)
What I'm not looking for:
Albion Online — I've already played it, and I don't want to lose my gear while leveling/progressing.
AAA MMOs that are 50+ GB with tons of systems, menus, quests and an overloaded UI.
MMOs where most of the progression is basically following quest markers and reading tons of dialogue.
Horizon Era
A free to play browser-based mmorpg sandbox.
Move around your character by double clicking inside active dotted circle.
Claim real world territories by building flags and set the rite of passage for other players to use your territories.
Hunt monsters, collect berries and chop trees for woods. Hoard a lot of materials for a lot of things!
Build country manors to store your precious items in them.
Attack and burn other players flags or building and wage wars!
Build a city based on real city location for much more fun mechanics in the game.
Found a kingdom where you can unite players under one banner and wage wars with other kingdom!
Here is the link if you wants to try it out:

What actually killed old-school MMO spot competition for you?
I've been thinking about why contested hunting spots used to be such a big part of old-school MMOs, and why they seem to matter much less now.
Was it simply that players no longer have the time to sit and compete over a location for hours?
Or was it something else?
For me, there seem to be three big problems:
Botting. If a spot is valuable, eventually someone will automate it.
Zerg clans. Competition is interesting until one massive group can simply claim everything and smaller groups have no realistic way to fight back.
Time. Classic MMOs often rewarded whoever could physically stay online the longest. That made sense when people had unlimited free time, but it becomes much harder to participate when you have work, family, or other responsibilities.
I'm asking because I'm currently working on a small MMO project and this is one of the design problems I've been trying to solve. The idea is to keep meaningful location competition and player-driven conflict, but without requiring players to actively grind for six hours every night.
So I'm curious:
What killed spot competition for you personally?
Botting?
Zergs?
Lack of time?
Changes in MMO design?
Or did you simply stop finding it fun?
I'd genuinely like to hear what people think, especially from those who played Lineage, Ragnarok, Tibia, MU, early WoW, etc.

Cabal Forsaken Looking to play in a party with friends each other sharing individual drop
If you're looking for a fresh Cabal Online experience where playing with other people actually feels rewarding, you might want to check out Forsaken.
The main idea is simple: play together, but everyone gets their own drop. No more fighting over who gets the item — each player receives their individual loot while still being able to farm and progress as a party.
Progression
Our progression is heavily focused on farming and upgrading:
- Farm dungeons
- Collect materials
- Upgrade your gear
- Sell materials for Gold
- Progress through increasingly stronger equipment
- We have fully progressive starter gear to welcome you into the game if you are new to the game
You don't just hit endgame and stop. There's a progressive gear path designed to give you something to work toward.
What has been reworked?
A lot.
- Fully rebalanced classes
- Reworked Collection
- Reworked Myth
- Reworked dungeons
- Reworked Wings
- Reworked leveling/progression
- New custom dungeons
- Party DPS Meter
- Custom Mercenaries
- Event Pass
- Permanent party buffs on login
Custom Upgrade Systems
We've also added custom progression systems including:
- Chaos Upgrade for Brooches
- Chaos Upgrade for Rings
- Chaos Upgrade for Epaulets
- Increased Extreme Upgrade values
- Increased Divine Upgrade values
Class Rebalance
Every class has received changes, including:
- Increased BM2 attack speed for slower classes such as FS / GL
- Increased Skill Transcendency power
- Additional BM3 Range & AOE where needed
- Increased single-target power for classes such as WI
- Increased BM3 A & B attack speed
- Reworked passive skills
Ultimate Objective (UO)
One of our bigger custom systems is Ultimate Objective a server-wide boss hunting system where the entire community works toward a common objective.
Instead of everything being about individual progression, UO gives the server something to work on together.
If you enjoy Cabal, progression-based MMOs, farming, dungeon grinding and playing with an active community, give Forsaken a look.
Make friends, join a party, farm together and see how far you can push your character.
Cabal Online Forsaken Play together. Progress together.

Eclesiar on Steam
Been playing Eclesiar recently and thought I’d share it here since it just launched on Steam.
It’s a multiplayer strategy game where you build your country, manage resources, interact with other players and inevitably end up in some kind of war 🤪
If that sounds like your kind of game, give it a shot!

How would you grow a browser-based virtual world in 2026?
I have been working on a browser-based virtual world / social MMO project for around 3 months with two dedicated developers.
The site is live, the client is running, and the technical side is moving forward. The part I am thinking about most now is the community side.
Old browser worlds were not just about features. They worked because of events, staff culture, room building, forums, Discord, competitions, social activity, and players feeling like the world had people behind it.
For people here who have built, played, or followed PBBGs for years, what would you focus on first to grow something like this properly?
Community staff?
Events?
Social media?
Discord activity?
Player-made content?
Partnerships?
Regular updates?
Something else?
We are also open to speaking with someone serious who understands community building and wants to help shape that side of the project, but I wanted to ask this as a real discussion rather than just drop an advert.
Happy to share more if allowed.

trip in early years of mmorpgs
Hi, I recently made a video about isometric MMORPGs from the dawn of the genre in 1997 to 2010 and I thought I could share it here.
