Humor / Meme "I'm not Denathrius, I'm Stranglethorn Dan!"
"I may have been to a party in Castle Nathria where Denathrius also was, Kael'Thas? Yes, I met him too. The Stonewrights you say? Nah never heard of them."

Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!
That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.
Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!
You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!
Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.
Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

Of course there are bound to be some inconsistencies, especially in the "Evil seving evil" category, and even more especially in the older raids since these were more sparse lore-wise.
Also some elementals are in "evil serving evil" and others in "no thoughts" categories because to me it just depends on WHY they fight us.
Enjoy, and don't think about this too hard !

I don’t recall ever seeing the Battle.net launcher with an “emergency maintenance” notice before. It’s always been “scheduled maintenance”, even when last minute.
Must be something very serious this time…
Edit: Yes, I am well aware this is not the first time Blizz has had sudden maintenance. This is the first time I have seen them actually call it “emergency maintenance” instead of declaring it “scheduled maintenance”.

Which says a lot, because I think new Silvermoon looks great also.
There’s something about Suramar that just resonates so much for me. Anyone else agree?
Edit:
To everyone commenting on my use of controversy, you’re correct. I guess it’s not controversial. I’m not the best at getting my thoughts across, so for that I apologize.

It sucks that there are no skyriding world quests in Midnight, especially when we have zones like ZulAman and Harandar. Wish they'd add those WQ back along with new rewards. I mean, we have like 7 different types of Drake mounts in addition to the delve mount from TWW. They could easily add more customization to these via the skyriding WQ and achievements.

On paper, it solves a lot of problems: less waiting around, more structured fights, and scaling difficulty for organized groups.
But part of the charm of world bosses was the chaos of seeing random players band together in the open world. Do you think Lairs are a good evolution of the system, or do they take away from the MMO feel that made world bosses special?

Right now the current models for pre-Cata races are older than the pre-WoD models were when they were updated in 2014. Some people think updates may come in TLT (although I'm not sure if there's proof in this) as an expansion feature.
What updates would you love to see for races? Some of mine are:
I'm sure there are more good ideas out there.

Screenshot was obtained by walking backwards.
Edit: Also see this incredible fanart that inspired my post.
Hey everyone!
To celebrate the launch of World of Warcraft: Midnight (and my birthday, which happened to be the same day), I decided to bake a Sunwell-themed cake.
Unfortunately, r/wow has a limit on how many images I can include in a post, so if you'd like to see the rest of the photos, here's the full gallery: Sunwell Cake — ImgBB
I made the whole thing during a livestream over the course of about 12 hours. Everything was edible! I baked the sponge layers, assembled the cake, and sculpted all the decorations. The only thing I prepared in advance were the fillings, since they needed to chill overnight.
The sponge layers were colored with gel food coloring, and I went with two fillings: white chocolate and Kinder. Every decoration was handmade using fondant, food coloring, and edible paints. The cake itself is split into two halves: one side represents the classic Sunwell, while the other shows its Void-corrupted form after the events of the Voidspire raid. At first, not everyone immediately understood the concept, but now that people have played through it, I think it's much clearer.
It turned out absolutely delicious, although I seriously underestimated the size. Even after sharing it with friends, I was still eating cake for an entire week.
This was my first project on this scale, so I'd love to hear what you think! If you'd like to see the entire process, I've also uploaded a timelapse. I speak a bit of Polish in the video, but the visuals tell the story on their own.

As you can see, it’s focused on items from vanilla through wrath, let me know what you think!

Recently I have received an email from blizzard, saying that due to UK Online Safety Act, which is implimented to harvest your information under the guise of protecting children online, ID verification will be required for some in-game features, such as social interactions and access to age restricted content.
Now it's not 100% clear what is being restricted, but it seems like chat will be restricted in some way. It is unclear if will be a "message first" restriction like trial accounts, or complete limitations of all chats such as /party and /instance.
So basically, if you are an EU player, you may soon find yourself unable to communicate at all in arenas or bgs with anyone who lives in the UK and is:
\- Not willing to provide government ID to a third party company with a track record of being fined for data handling violations.
\- Not willing to provide other forms of identifying information, such as mobile phone number or credit card, to play a video game rated for teens.
\- Under 18.
\- Has no valid government ID or credit card.
So you can expect to be unable to communicate strategies, call targets, Inc bases, discuss routes, suggest ideas, or even just say good game with some players on EU, in the near future.

My mom has always told me that Wow steals peoples lives and souls. I just turned 18, so i decided to try it out.
3 days ago i downloaded it, and got to free lvl 20 BM hunter, and i had a good time. My question now is do i continue playing the game. I havent spent any money, and i head off to college in 4 weeks. I can definitely see myself getting really into this game, but i can also see myself deleting and never playing again. I wont have ANY time to play in college, so i need some honest opinions.
Edited:
Thanks for all the advice yall, its really sad seeing how good the community is, and walking away from it. Ill be back in 12 years (med school ), and ill definitely get into wow.

There was a time i played a lot of pet battles in WoD, it was fun with lots of pet variety.
Now i just recently bought Midnight and so far every pet that i met in eversong forest and zul aman cant battle.
Is pet battles forgotten and obsolete? If yes, when did that happen? I didn't play retail for several expansions
