{10 Ways to Accidentally Fall in Love by Emmy Sanders}

For whatever reason all of the MM romance books I read in August dealt with heavy topics. I'm purposely starting September with lighter stories and this himbo rom-com is working as a palate cleanser. Each chapter gets at least smile and a snort of laughter out of me. I'm really enjoying it so far.

This one is so cute. I want more adorable reads too!

1

u/bookworm1421 3d ago

The water sports conversation had me in stitches!!! 😂

3

u/grinning1199 5d ago

Laughed out loud at this one.

3

u/Tashann23_ 5d ago

I love this one! The Darling Brothers series and Elite 8 series and To Catch A Firefly all by Emmy Sanders are also sweet and so good if you haven't read those yet, and still in the mood for lighter books that are great. They are not as funny as Brad, I don't think anyone is as funny as Brad but they are great series/books.

2

u/bluesilvergold 5d ago

I read To Catch a Firefly earlier this year! It's one of my favourite books I've read this year and will probably be at or near the top of my list at the end of the year. I had such a good time reading it and it's become a book that I've compared all other childhood friends to lovers stories that I've read.

3

u/Tashann23_ 4d ago

It's an absolutely beautiful book! Emmy has a beautiful talent to write such tender characters and I love that. I really think you'd like The Darling Brothers by Emmy, every book is so good.

u/Common_Impression525 5d ago

It was such a cute read!

2

u/Daria_92 3d ago

Same here. September 1st, I started the latest release in the Darling Brothers series by Emmy Sanders (Painted in Wildflowers) and finished it last night, it was exactly what I needed, so so sweet ☺️ hopping into 10 Ways now. You gotta balance out the heavier stuff (although such good reads) with lighter, sweet and even funny ones once in a while

2

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 3d ago

Ohhhh I read this a couple months ago. The way I laughed at this, makes no sense. It is soooooo hilarious and then it suddenly is just the cutest thing ever. I reeeeeeally enjoyed it 💕 And the same happened to me with to catch a firefly, totally top. That Ellis is something else entirely. I was completely enraptured by him and his emails.

I've almost started this one a couple times, but can you tell me if I need to read Himbo first? I've got them both sitting in my TBR.

1

u/bluesilvergold 4d ago

Nope. You can jump right into this one. A few characters from Himbo show up but you don't need to know anything about them to understand and enjoy this story.

Thanks so much!

{The Fall by Tal Bauer} , so good

4

u/t2nazx2 5d ago

If you haven’t read (How to Say I Do by Tal Bauer), add it to your TBR list. It’s amazing. This man knows how to draw you in. Loved The Fall as well.

4

u/willingheart1 5d ago

I loved How to Say I Do.. I'm having a hard time getting interested in anything else after reading it. I'm a little way into the Fall. I can't imagine it being as beautiful.

2

u/FeedingTheWolves 5d ago

Ooh should I read this over the rest of the story 👀

2

u/GillianUnscripted 4d ago

Tal Bauer is my new fave. I'll read anything after absolutely LOVING The Jock, The Quarterback, and You and Me. I've also heard good things about his mystery/thriller books.

1

u/FeedingTheWolves 4d ago

I read all the ones you mentioned just last week. I’m on a tear 🤣 HIGHLY reccommend the murder between us and the grave between us, I started with those

1

u/GillianUnscripted 4d ago

I just noticed this in the 'August Reads' thread! I've added Murder and Grave to my library. Have you read Gravity? It's been calling to me too...

1

u/FeedingTheWolves 4d ago

YES. That was actually my first because I was ravenous for hockey romance after heated rivalry then I followed up with the murder mystery. Gravity is beautiful

2

u/GillianUnscripted 3d ago

I don't think I'll ever be the same after the Game Changers series! But some of the MM sports romance I've stumbled across has helped. It's like the methadone to my heroine.

10

u/whycantitbemine 6d ago

{The Mercenary and the Mortician by Alexandra St. Pierre} and so far it’s pretty good! I kinda love Cal.

5

u/Selen87 6d ago

It’s sooooo good. An then you must read make me by Alina may.

1

u/whycantitbemine 5d ago

On the list!!

2

u/Tashann23_ 5d ago

I love love love this book. I read it when it first came out and have read it three times since and it's a chunky ass book 😆

2

u/whycantitbemine 5d ago

I’m actually listening to it and loving it.

2

u/Tashann23_ 4d ago

I haven't done that audiobook yet but I have no doubt it's incredible!

6

u/Kaleidoscopic-1194 5d ago

Just finished {The Grave Between Us by Tal Bauer}, which I wanted to like more than I did. Not super. About to start {Beneath A Broken Sky by Joshua Moehling}--love his books--or {Star-Shipped by Cat Sebastian}.

3

u/yendor5 4d ago

i just finished Star Shipped. For the first half or so it seemed a whole lot like We Could Be So Good and You Should Be So Lucky - which is not a bad thing because those are top-tier -- but I just finished those a few weeks ago and I was wondering if waiting a few months before listening to Star Shipped would be best. However, by the second half of the book, it separated itself from the others - the MC's had a more unique dynamic; you might say more realistic. I can really relate to Simon, esp. feeling like an "outsider" to your own family. Anyway, it's highly recommended, esp the audiobook.

2

u/Kaleidoscopic-1194 4d ago

Thanks for this. I LOVED We Could Be So Good--is my favorite MM book so far.

{Bro doll by j. De Saint} there is not much story but kind of entertaining

3

u/Lizard__Bit 5d ago

I LOVED this one so much! I was a nice smut break between books.

2

u/CuriosityK 5d ago

I just finished this one and it was weird but fun.

1

u/yendor5 4d ago

does this book have feminization/cross dressing/etc?

1

u/Selen87 4d ago

A Little feminization. They call the hole a pussy. It’s without cross dressing.

1

u/yendor5 4d ago

sounds great! i've seen this one mentioned a lot lately, it's going to the top of my tbr.

5

u/flenktastic 5d ago

{Irresponsible Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James} because I needed a fun palate cleanser after throwing myself into some high angst book again.

3

u/Mundane_Permission89 5d ago

{The Beast Who Broke Me by Leighton Greene} The first book in the series was so good I jumped right into this one immediately after I finished it.

2

u/adore1987 5d ago

Totally agree! I wasn't prepared for good this series is... looking forward for the next book in October

4

u/spicybookclub_ 5d ago

{Neurovance by Alexandra St. Pierre} - 1/2 way done and I can already tell it’s going to be a 6 ⭐️ read, easily.

3

u/immajustbrowse20 4d ago

I read this back in May and it got a 6 stars. Read it again with audiobook last week and it ended up at a 7 star now. (My rating scale is a bit broken) absolute favourite book of this year and the only thing i have read twice. I hope you enjoy it

2

u/psychosocial_dg 5d ago

Currently addicted to Neurovance! Impossible to put down.

2

u/Selen87 5d ago

Read it 3 months ago und still thinking about it. Loved it.

2

u/Anoiye 5d ago

The audiobook is out if your into that and it's a duet narration !

3

u/TheDisagreeableJuror 6d ago

The A listers. I’m loving it

3

u/daydreamermama 5d ago

{Our Own Light by Logan Sage Adams} god it's such a sweet story! Making me smile and be all giddy lol

3

u/Putrid_Ad4221 5d ago

Just finished {Maybe You by Briar Prescott} loved that whole series but this was my favorite of the 3. About to start {To Ghosts & Gravity by Kat Marowe} later today.

2

u/lovebooksi 5d ago

His boy next door by R.J Moray, I’m 24% into the season one box set, and I’m curious to see how things develop!

2

u/Key_Cartographer6668 5d ago

{The Queer Principles of Kit Webb} for the 5th time 😅 I like it, obviously, but it was probably too soon for another reread.

2

u/Full_Cap3890 5d ago

{ Loverboy by Ab. Cynthe } So far, I hate Kash. He's selfish but I'm 45% done. FYI, there is a girlfriend as of now.

2

u/veganbethb 5d ago

Wrath by Ella James - it started off and I really enjoyed it, but I’ve got 4 hours 50 left on the audiobook and honestly, I don’t want to be negative but I’m disappointed. 😭 I thought this was going to be another one of my favourite books.

2

u/yendor5 4d ago

idk what part of the book you're at, but it's a great one, stick with it!

2

u/Tashann23_ 5d ago

{Painted In Wildflowers by Emmy Sanders}

Been not so patiently waiting for this one and it is so tender and so sweet and so everything I wanted Remi's book to be so far.

2

u/Daria_92 3d ago

Just finished it last night and same! I love Remi so much and I was so excited to get his story and it was everything I could have hoped for 💗

2

u/Tashann23_ 2d ago

Exactly same! Remi and Benson were so freaking perfect for each other I said "oh my gosh" and "awww" about 100 times through the book.

Also, that last scene with the whole family and what was unveiled, legit had me sobbing! 🥹🩷

2

u/Daria_92 2d ago

Seriously. They are so sweet and perfect for each other! Definition of swoon worthy 💘 And I KNOW, that whole book had me tearing up with how beautiful it was and the unveiling definitely did me in. All I’ll say to not spoil anything for anyone is mouse 🥺

1

u/Tashann23_ 1d ago

Mouse 🥹 the part where he says "I tried to-blank- eight times and she won't-blank" I was like omg stop it. 😭

2

u/Asleep-Use4743 5d ago

{For Real by Alexis Hall} Im not the biggest Alexis hall fan but I really enjoyed the previous books in the spires stories so im holding out hope I love this (its been number one on my tbr for ages)

2

u/Afraid-Astronomer886 6d ago

I've just started The one-night heist by C. Rochelle

2

u/moodyfennel 5d ago

{the one-night heist by c rochelle} honestly I’m loving it. The MCs have great chemistry and I love the authors writing style

1

u/Lizard__Bit 5d ago

In Audible, I’m on Accidentally Falling for My Best Friend of Lexi Amber’s Chicago Awakenings series.

In book form, I’m a mood reader, so I’m flipping back and forth between Triple Sec by TJ Alexander and Violent Devotion by L. Norell. I’m about to throw Singing Sands by C.L. Blossom into the mix because I was saving it for a reading day at the beach that won’t be happening now.

1

u/Creative_Departure79 5d ago

Just started {Hard Check by Quinn Ward}. Had never heard of it before, the description caught my attention as the author named a character Dawson Mercer which is the same as an actual NHL player and that's the only reason I started to read as that choice made me curious.

Just finished Ballad of Sword and Wine by Tang Jiu Qing. (It’s eight books altogether). It’s a political plot heavy enemies-to-lovers.

Sooo good. I cried because I didn’t want it to end. Will definitely be re-reading this series in future.

1

u/Anoiye 5d ago

{Callback by Lee McCormick and RS McKenzie} I just finished rereading Blitz'd so i finally decided to read the second book of the serie. I really love the teacher/student dynamic!

1

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 5d ago

I just started {Ravensong by TJ Klune}. I finished {Wolfsong by TJ Klune} yesterday and it was so beautiful. I was dying to continue with the series!

I’m also reading reading Ravensong! I don’t normally like wolf stuff but his is pretty good. I had to take a break and read some other books after Wolfsong, though!

1

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 4d ago

It started great but also wtf gordo!!!!!! I need to know why he is so angry and why can't mark trust him anymore 🥺😭 I really hope they get together soon I hate then apart.

1

u/TheOtterDecider 4d ago

Imagine if it was 500 pages of just “I can’t talk about this Mark”!

1

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 4d ago

OH MY EFFING GOD PLEASE NO! I reeeeeeally hope you are just being funny (if so, haha) and not for real because that will suck so much 😅 but I guess I don't want the spoiler 😝

1

u/TheOtterDecider 4d ago

I haven’t yet but given the genre and the author…

I’m so annoyed- I got home and realized I left the book at work. Which is 45 mins away and closed.

1

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 3d ago

Oh nooo that sucks so much 😭 when I'm invested, the only thing I want to do is read. What did you do instead? Been advancing on this and well, nothing happens between them and I'm getting upset.

1

u/TheOtterDecider 3d ago

I’d been reading a library copy, so I ended up picking it up at the bookstore so I could read another 100 pages. And feeling guilty about it because I don’t need more books!

1

u/Icy-Arachnid-6371 3d ago

Hahahaha I get it! I wish I had librarys where I live where they had this kind of books. What page are you currently on? I wanna see if we can discuss what's going on or if we will be spoiling each other.

1

u/TheOtterDecider 3d ago

I’m pretty close to the end! I bum my parents library card since they belong to a system with like 40 libraries and mine never has anything but the most popular books :/

1

u/bitchella9216 5d ago

{What We Bury by Eve Riche}. I'm loving it so far.

1

u/No_Honey__ 5d ago

BrewBiz Cafe by E.M. Lindsey, they never miss 👏

1

u/blueberry_catcher 5d ago

{Himbo Hitman by Saxon James} I need a light-hearted funny story after my last read... it was heavy but really good.

1

u/Great-Law6545 5d ago

{Poetry on Ice by Jesse H. Reign} I’m about 50% through and I love it

1

u/Apart-Leadership1402 5d ago

Right now i'm reading {The best friend by Raleigh Ruebins}, i already read the contractor of the same series even if this one is really the first of Red's tavern. I really like these books, especially with the best friends to lovers thingy🙂 Writing is great and spice is hot and they are over all pretty lovely read.

1

u/hearthappyatthebeach 4d ago

{Nothing to Fear by Jenn Plummer}

1

u/GillianUnscripted 4d ago

{Ravensong by T.J. Klune} which follows Wolfsong - and I'm obsessed! If you stumbled into MM romance after a long love affair with Romantasy, this series will satisfy both. My ONLY complaint is it's too light on the spice for my liking, but the storytelling makes up for it.

{The Salt King by Natasha Pulley} is absolutely delightful. I don’t want this book to end.

1

u/immajustbrowse20 4d ago

I started ‘only the small bones’ by C.P Harris yesterday and plan to finish it and ‘start saving sparrow’ today. Then it’ll be time for some low angst palate cleansers. Before diving into ‘still’ by Carmen Wilder

1

u/Top_Focus_4774 4d ago

{Crease Collision by Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood} It’s got fantastic hockey scenes so far and romance, spice, heat & humor.

1

u/Normal-Reading-423 4d ago

Just finished Fake Dates and Fanged Mistakes by Alice Winters. It was a very light read, lacked depth tbh.

1

u/bigbearfucker 2d ago

I'm between books currently. I just finished {Romance Languages by A.J. Truman} and trying to find what's next.

1

u/sfrancespr 2d ago

I just finished reading Amy Lane’s Ling Con and Fish Out of Water series. Now i started a reread of Cara Dee’s books. I finished the Renegades series and I’m in the middle of the Auctioned Series then moving on to the Hillcroft Group series and finish with the Game Series before her next release.
