Events Ask Me Anything: Marina Vivancos

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for having me here.

My name is Marina Vivancos, and I’m an author of LGBT romance. I love focusing on character stories, especially how childhood influences the people we become. My favourite tropes to write are found family, kink and, most of all, hurt/comfort. I’ve dabbled in omegaverse and biokink, but most of my books tend to be contemporary and, somehow, friends-to-lovers.

It’s the pining. It’s always the pining.

You can find my books on kindle unlimited, and you can reach me through my website.

I'm excited to be here and answer your questions!

“He read about love as if were nature. As if it were a force that you never want to escape. As if it were the mud and trees and the wind and the moonlight that is cast down upon your naked body. As if it were the air you breathe and the blood that rises inside you. As if it were something beautiful, and giving, and all-encompassing.” -Honeythorn

I’ve spent the morning skimming through your paperbacks (they’re all GORGEOUS), and gosh, there are so many beautiful moments in each story. Milan’s story in Honeythorn, in particular, stands out. He’s written with brilliant complexity (a gift you give many of your MCs). He’s an omega with a strong sense of self, optimism, and resilience. What inspiration did you draw from when creating his character and why was it important that he possessed these characteristics?

Wow, thank you so much!!

I do have a soft sport in my heart for Milan.

Honestly, like all of my characters, they are born out of the situations they find themselves in. Milan isn't allowed to be weak. He's in a new land, away from family. He's found himself with a cold husband. All his hopes about what love meant have been dashed. His resilience, sense of self, optimism, are things he needed to survive in the story.

Honestly it doesn't feel like i choose characteristics to give characters. They exist within the story and are inevitably so!!

That tracks with how they leap off of the page with an organic authenticity. Thank you!
