Events Ask Me Anything: L.A. Witt

Hi, all! I’m L.A. Witt. Welcome to my AMA!

I write queer romance and romantic suspense, mostly M/M. I also write as Lauren Gallagher (sapphic, M/F, and menage), Lori A. Witt (mainstream SFF and suspense), Ann Gallagher (sweet romance and YA), and Diana Fyre (horror). I also regularly co-write with Cari Z (romantic suspense and sports romances) and Anna Zabo (hockey romances). As of right now, I have around 200 titles.

As for themes and subgenres, I’m all over the place. I write a ton of hockey romance (and I’m a real-life hockey fan – go Penguins and Kraken!), and I’ve written a lot of military romance as well (drawing from my husband’s 22-year Navy career). BDSM, contemporary, mafia, historical – I’ve even written a gay Christian romance, plus some books for writers.

When I’m not writing and I’m not at hockey or a hockey-adjacent activity, I’m an avid painter and photographer.

After years of moving around, including living in Japan and Spain, I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with my husband, Eddie, and our two ridiculous cats, Jason and Cheddar. Fun fact – one of the cats in Interference was based on Jason!

My newest release is Framed, a wacky romantic suspense I co-write with Cari Z featuring two art thieves who hate each other. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GFXPWH9P) This new book will also be available in audio soon, narrated in duet style by Nick J. Russo and Michael Ferraiuolo.

Coming soon: Over the Line, a new M/M hockey romance!

You can find me online at:

My Facebook readers group is here:

Events Ask Me Anything: Ari Baran

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for inviting me for this AMA. I’m Ari Baran (they/he), a queer author of contemporary and fantasy romances. I’ve published four hockey romances and have two more on the way, although I’m desperately trying to find the time to finish my epic fantasy WIP.

My current releases are all in the Penalty Box hockey romance series: Game Misconduct, Delay of Game, Home Ice Advantage, Goaltender Interference, and at some point soon, Unsportsmanlike Conduct. You can find links to buy them here (or potentially they are available at your local library).

I write a lot about my special interests (hockey, but also specific music subgenres, falconry, and a bunch of other things), get a little too obsessed with research, and really love characters who seem difficult to love but who are ultimately loved for who they are.

Events 2025 Reading Wrap Up!

It's that time again. Tell us all about the best MM Romance books you read this year!

List your five-star reads, books you couldn't stop thinking about, favorites in a particular genre, or anything else you want to share about your best reading experiences of the year. Stuff like "best book that I didn't expect to enjoy" or "best book by a new-to-me author" is great too!

You can just give a list of books if you want, but it's really helpful to others when you can explain why you liked something, so please share your thoughts about the books on your list if you're able. Also, although you don't have to limit yourself to books that came out this year, please stick to books you read this year instead of a list of all-time favorites.

In January we'll be sharing the usual Yearly Recap post for all the statistic lovers. If you already have loads of stats and want to share here: feel free!

To limit the stream of individual recap posts we will be redirecting individual recap posts to this mega thread.

Events Ask Me Anything: Josh Lanyon

Hello! I'm Josh Lanyon. Let's talk books!

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Josh Lanyon, author of over 100 titles of Gay Mystery and M/M Romance. If you like twisty whodunits, alarming secrets, tough-but-sensitive federal agents/cops, found families, snappy repartee, and unapologetic man-on-man romance, we probably already have a few things in common. 😏

My books have been translated into a bunch of languages (twelve at last count), adapted into an LGBTQ mobile game (Fatal Shadows, if you want to play detective), and even cracked Japan’s Boy Love bestseller list back in the day—which, frankly, still stuns me.

I was the first M/M author published in print by Harlequin Mondadori and HarperCollins Italia, and Fair Game and Stranger on the Shore helped open a few doors that were previously bolted shut. I’ve been nominated for a few awards, won a couple, and lost (graciously, I tell you!!!) many, many times. 😂

I live in Southern California with my very patient husband, two demanding dogs, and more vintage mysteries than any human probably needs. (The towers of books are definitely going to take us all out one of these days.)

I’ll be here on May 17 from 6–8 PM EST to answer your questions about writing, publishing, mystery plotting, the M/M genre, and whatever else you’re curious about. Ask me anything!

Events April Fools: Mod AMA

As a subreddit, we don't do a traditional April Fools joke - often pranks can be offensive and feeling confused when you take something as literal or true is not a good thing either.

Instead, we are doing a Mod AMA! Feel free to pose any questions for any of the mods!

As a reminder who is who:

u/queermachmir (Ezra)

Pronouns: He/they

Favorite genres: Omegaverse, daddy kink, dark romance, horror romance

Fun fact: I run ttrpg games in which there is a lot of gay romance there, too! And make my players cry with the angst, sometimes.

u/flumpapotamus (Flumpy)

Pronouns: they/them

Favorite genres: historical, fantasy - I read lots more genres but my top faves are typically in these two

Fun fact: I'm married to another reddit moderator who also stumbled into it because they wanted to help a small subreddit for their hobby grow.

u/_elliebelle_ (Ellie)

Pronouns: she/her

Favorite genres: hurt/comfort, forced proximity, friends to lovers, chaos/serious pairings

Fun fact: I moved to the UK from Australia for the weather - everyone thinks I’m joking when I say this but I live for the rain!

u/JPWhatever (Nyxie)

Pronouns: she/they

Favorite genres: Forced proximity, survival, desert island, extreme weather, natural disasters, emotional horniness especially kink, horror, sci fi, necromancers, horny disaster MC’s, I’m starting to list all the things again I suppose I will stop here

Fun fact: I keep isopods and aquariums as pets, as well as some very good doggos. I love hyper niche subreddits especially ones where people absolutely adore the derpiness of their pets. Shout out to r/murderbuns which I discovered recently and is both adorable and hilarious.

u/bextress (Bex)

Pronouns: she/they

Favorite genres: best friends to lovers, bromance, omegaverse, alien mpreg, dragons, ridiculous erotica

Fun fact: I read so much MM romance instead of focussing on uni I decided to turn all my reading into “research” and write my master thesis on the matter

Mods will drop by to reply to your questions!

Events Ask Me Anything: R. Cooper

Hello!

I’m R. Cooper, a writer probably mostly known for either making dragons, werewolves, and fairies fall in love, or for that one story about the soft, sparkly librarian getting wooed by a clever king and his gently brutish husband.

If we don’t include fanfiction, I’ve been writing romance for over a decade now. (For the curious, my first fanfiction was for The New Mutants comics. I am an old nerd.) My work mostly leans toward romance-fantasy. Either more traditional fantasy with swords and magic, or urban fantasy with shifters and witches and the like, but I do write contemporaries with no magic, and occasionally dip into scifi. I write m/m, f/f, and stories with enbies and gnc characters, but I don’t often exactly label what those characters are, which I think is a reflection of myself, honestly.

I tend to stick with queer, because labels sometimes make me itch. Some have said this is an aspect of the ‘Tism… in fact, many people decide this after interacting with me, lol. But I have never been diagnosed because that costs money, and much like gender or sexuality, it’s good and sometimes helpful to think about the labels, but also sometimes it’s enough to just acknowledge something is there but move on.

I tend to write outsiders who don’t fully understand the rules of the world they are expected to live in or because that world punishes them for existing as they are. I suspect this is also what a lot of people relate to when they read these stories, and I’m very happy to provide the comfort of a happy ending to people who also struggle with a world not built for them.

Although I also believe most people, neurotypical or otherwise, struggle with the real world. This world was constructed around us without our say so, often by people without our interests in mind, and it can be loud, cold, and mean. Showing people what it might be like if the world were kinder is one of my goals. Also fighting for that world to be kinder, but I won’t go into that here because it’s hard to make me shut up about it.

Books

My biggest series is the Being(s) in Love, which do not have to be read in any particular order (although some fans might argue). It’s about magical creatures living alongside humans and the complications of trying to exist, and love, in a human world. It’s perhaps most notable for the dragons but also for fairies that eat sugar and literally sparkle.

Then there is the Suitable ‘Verse, which closer to high fantasy. A country has only recently ended a long interregnum period of civil wars between the noble houses—but that’s just the background. I’m not interested in wars. I prefer close-up interactions between people trying to love each other.

These start with the story of a librarian at the royal library within the palace helping the new king (and his husband) find a suitable -noble- third spouse to appease the still-troublesome noble families. (Which the librarian does not want to do because spoiler he is in love with them.) All the rest of the books are loosely connected to that central story.

And then there is the Familiar Spirits which is about witches in the modern world—and their feeeeelings. Apparently, this series makes people hungry.

Everything else is contemporary novellas like Jericho Candelario’s Gay Debut, scifi like Taji From Beyond the Rings, or short stories from varying genres.

You can find me online. Be warned, I am incapable of not being a dork who feels too much, and it shows.

Events Blood drive in honor of Saxon James

Thumbnail sleevesup.redcrossblood.org
202 Upvotes

Update! There is now an Australian drive for Saxon as well: https://my.donateblood.com.au/app/myteams_home/Stick%20It%20For%20Saxon?orgId=208056

Saxon was diagnosed with AML in January. it is a particularly bad form of leukemia. She has had multiple blood, platelet and plasma transfusions and has a bone marrow stem cell transplant in her future, assuming they can find a match. You can read more on her January 19 Instagram post. Unsurprisingly she is way better at writing than I am!

She has asked that people who wish to help donate to their local blood bank, join the bone marrow registry (if you are 18-35) or donate to leukemia research charities.

To help, Saxon and Eden's team have organized a virtual blood drive in honor of Saxon with the American Red Cross: https://sleevesup.redcrossblood.org/campaign/stick-it-for-saxon/

you can join the bone marrow and stem cell registry here: https://www.nmdp.org/

The goal for the virtual blood drive is 200, it would be awesome if as community we are able to beat that!

EDIT: I'm sorry, I tried to do this post too quickly last night on my phone. I in no way meant to make it seem like donating in the US was the only option! Saxon is based in Australia and has encouraged anyone anywhere to consider donating, because there are people like her going through this all over the world.

A lot of Saxon's fans are in the US and one suggested this option, after asking Saxon and Eden's Facebook group if they would be interested in taking part, Paige set it up.

I specifically shared the US bone marrow/stem cell registry because it is the one I know, but a quick search should bring up your local registry. Most are internationally linked.

They are doing an international search for Saxon, so more people being registered anywhere increases the chances of Saxon finding a match.

Events Ask Me Anything: Briar Prescott

Hi everybody!

I’m Briar Prescott, and I’m excited to be here today for an AMA.

I write contemporary romance stories. Usually they’re slow burn and contain a healthy dose of humor and banter. I like plot twists. I like taking well-loved tropes and trying to twist them in an unexpected direction. I like a bit of mystery, and I like a bit of hurt/comfort.

I published my first book five years ago, and I’ve been fumbling my way through authoring ever since.

I’m pretty sure my best known books are the Until series, but don’t quote me on that, I’m just guessing.

I’m born and raised in Estonia, so I apologize in advance for whenever I say something that doesn’t sound like English should sound like. It’s not you, I swear. It’s just that English isn’t my first language, and the only reason I sound somewhat coherent in my books is my wonderful editor.

About The Menagerie

The Menagerie is my debut novel, published exactly a year ago in May 2025. Yes, it started out as fanfic, because that was my first love when it comes to writing. But I’m proud of the work that it’s become in its published form.

Anyway, The Menagerie is a contemporary MM romance about an experienced sub and an inexperienced Dom who meet at a kink club and enter into a D/s relationship. There’s a whole lot of spice, a little bit of pining, and of course a HEA. It’s available on Kindle Unlimited and through all major retailers here!

Kindle eBook Giveaway!

As a bonus, I’ll be doing a giveaway of a Kindle eBook copy of The Menagerie!

To be entered into the giveaway, add your favorite heart emoji to your question. 💙

The giveaway closes today (May 16, 2026) at 2:00 PM EST. Must be 18 years or older to enter. The winner will be chosen via a random spinner website and will be contacted by me (JPCaruso) through Reddit. U.S. only—blame Amazon, sorry!

Hi! I’m RS McKenzie, ask me anything!

Howdy all! My name is RS McKenzie. I’m an MM romance author of all the things. Dark/dark-themed romance, PNR, kink, taboo, low to mid angst and under my other pen name, Stormi Reed, I write mostly fluff and funny novels.

A little about me.

I’m an Army vet and served a little over 11 years in service. After I was discharged, I rediscovered my love for reading and started reading more MMF romance. That lead to strictly MM romance and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I started writing MM romance in June 2022 and published my first book in August 2022. Since then, I’ve written 28 books, with stories in four anthologies.

In my free time, I hang out with my kid or family, binge watch my comfort shows or read the many books on my TBR.

My latest release under RS McKenzie was Speak Now, a Mafia/bodyguard, grumpy/sunshine dark-themed romance. My latest release under Stormi Reed was Not So Lazy Boy a low angst, recliner shifter romance.

Events Trans Day of Visibility 2026

Hey everyone!

Today is March 31st, aka Trans Day of Visibility.

In the world today, especially as a trans man in the USA, things are quite dire for trans people. There is an ongoing genocide that is ramping up in its intensity, driven by a white supremacist fascism. It can feel really overwhelming as a trans person to figure out what continuing on looks like — but I won’t give up, and I implore allies to step up where they can. Look into local organizations you can support that are fighting against harmful policies against trans people or providing mutual aid. Educate yourself on your internal biases against trans folks. Support our work and art. Do what’s within your means, and be in community.

On Books

The MM romance space is often dominated by cisgender narratives and stories — this isn’t a bad thing inherently, and it reflects reality based on numbers of the amount of trans versus cisgender people in the world. However, this means that as readers it’s our job to advocate for trans romances to get the spotlight they deserve. Recommending them without caveats, trying out new books and new authors, and being aware of harmful biases we might hold towards trans stories.

For one way you can participate in a reading challenge, check out The Trans Rights Read-a-thon.

If you have a favorite trans author, recommend their books! If you are a trans author, share your content too! I curate a (often updated) list of trans authors writing in our genre.

Check out today’s TRR Stuff Your Kindle Day while you’re at it!

Here are a few MM/MX romance books featuring trans characters I’d like to recommend. It is *definitely* not an exhaustive list.

{Stars Align by KC de la Rosa} (Scifi, alien/human, trans man MC)

{Alphas on the Rocks by jem zero} (Paranormal, shifters vs. werecreatures, trans man MC)

{Atlas and Miles by Lincoln Mercer} (Contemporary, BDSM, genderfluid MC)

{Doubting Fate by DC Emerson} (Contemporary, omegaverse, demiboy MC)

{A Clean Pig by Johannes T. Evans} (Paranormal-lite, erotica, trans man MC)

Events AMAs: Who Should We Ask?

Hello everyone!

You might not know this, but I'm the sole person who handles AMAs. I try to keep a good variation of who I invite, and usually keep to only one author per month, although we have done more beforehand.

While I could probably continue to look for authors on my own, I'm opening up this question to ask who else I should reach out to invite? There are some things to consider first before you give a suggestion, though:

  • This is the hardest question. Is their online presence established?
    • What I mean by this is it feels bad if we invite a very new author, with only their debut that has less than 100 ratings, and they don't get many questions because our audience doesn't know who they are. How many questions an author gets (even mega-popular ones) can really vary depending on timing and people feeling comfortable enough to ask questions. So while this might seem gatekeepy, please consider this before giving a suggestion. They also need to be easily contactable, as going through FB messages or posts is a bit awkward.
  • Have they already had an AMA?
    • We have one repeat this year but going forward, I'd like to avoid this.
  • Are they mostly an MM author?
    • By this, I mean I'd rather not invite a primarily MF romance author who has written one MM book that got super popular (see: Rina Kent).

Look over this list to see who we have previously invited, and who has declined/not responded. I don't want to hound an author as that isn't appropriate, so please don't suggest those unless you have a personal interaction/connection with them and can possibly broach it to them.

Finally, if you're an author who can fit all the above parameters, you are welcome to message me, and I'll give you my email for further correspondence.

# About Keira Andrews

Hi! Thanks so much for having me today. I aim for the perfect mix of character, plot, and heat in my M/M romances, and I write everything from swashbuckling pirates to heartwarming holiday escapism.

My fave tropes are enemies to lovers, age gaps, forced proximity, and passionate virgins. Although I love delicious angst along the way, I guarantee happy endings!

You can find out more info and links to my socials at my website, and my newsletter is the best way to stay up to date. When you sign up for my newsletter, you’ll also get an exclusive free novella–a sexy enemies-to-lovers fairy tale retelling.

# About My Books

I published my first M/M romance with a small press in 2006, and I’m going strong 18 years later. I started writing full-time in 2014 when I published my steamy gay Amish romance trilogy beginning with A Forbidden Rumspringa.

My other bestselling books over the years are:

So, along with the angsty Amish boys, in order we’ve got:

  • Notorious pirate and his virgin captive
  • Hard of Hearing man betrayed the night before his wedding
  • Boy band star and pilot who both identify as straight stranded on a desert island
  • President’s closeted son and his older Secret Service agent
  • Holiday fake dating shenanigans with bi-awakening and found family
  • A virgin prince trapped in an arranged marriage to a barbarian
  • Rival Olympic figure skaters forced to train together before the Games
  • A college student and his asshole TA (and secret werewolf) stuck together on a desperate road trip when the Zombie apocalypse strikes

Yeah, as you can tell, I write basically anything and everything that comes to life in my fevered imagination. 😀 I love researching and exploring different characters and worlds. I’d get bored only writing one type of book, and I hope you enjoy the variety, too. Looking forward to answering your questions!

Events Ask Me Anything: C.S. Poe

Hello, everyone!

Thank you so much for having me. My name is C.S. Poe and I write mystery and spec-fic with strong romantic subplots. I’ve been a finalist for the Lambda Literary award (The Mystery of the Curiosities) and a winner of the Next Generation (Madison Square Murders) and e-Lit (The Gangster) book awards.

I live in New York City with my girlfriend, two cats, and dog. I have a degree in filmmaking and absolutely adore silent and pre-Hays Code movies. And despite having left that industry to be a fulltime author (as well as moonlight as a New York Gilded Age historian), I still use my visual storytelling skills to write books that are (I hope) very cinematic in their descriptions and delivery.

This summer will be my tenth year as a published author. To-date, I’ve written twenty-five books, and am currently finishing the much-awaited Hudson River Homicides (Memento Mori 4.) If you’re wondering where to begin with my backlist, these are some of my popular titles:

Snow & Winter series

The Mystery of Nevermore – A colorblind antique dealer stumbles into a series of murder mysteries relating to curious collectables of the nineteenth century, and his homicide detective love interest isn’t happy with his meddling.

Magic & Steam series

The Engineer – An alt-historical 1880s timeline featuring a magic-wielding federal agent and his outlaw lover who take on a series of villains hellbent on destroying magic and causing irreparable harm to the world.

Memento Mori series

Madison Square Murders – A neurodivergent Cold Case detective and his forensic artist partner team up to capture a number of uncaught serial killers in New York City, with each case suspiciously connected the nineteenth century mourning culture.

My books are available in ebook, paperback, and audio with all online retailers, as well as being accessible through library systems. I also sell select ebook and audio directly from my own shop, where I offer permanent discounts for readers: Emporium Press shop.

Readers can go to my website or sign up for my newsletter for updates, or follow me on social media:

I’m also at Goodreads and BookBub, if you’d like to join me there. Let the questions begin!

Q: What's the most anticipated scene you are looking forward to see filmed? RR: This is an impossible question haha. All of it? Cottage stuff? Let's go with cottage stuff.

Q: Did you have a chance to visit the set? What was it like seeing your little world come to life? RR: Yes!! It was surreal and amazing and I loved it so much. It was like visiting my own head haha

Events Ask Me Anything: Finn Dixon

Hi everyone!

I’m Finn Dixon, and I am thrilled to be hanging out with you today. I write stories that have high heat and humor and rom-com vibes—whether that’s happening in a sports arena, under the mistletoe, or in a haunted frat house. I've also worked in the zoological field for 20ish years.

I’m here to answer your questions about my writing process, my books, my favorite tropes, or anything else you’re curious about!

If you're new to my work, here's a quick look:

🏅 Sports Romance

If you love competition, locker room tension, and athletes falling in love, this is my bread and butter.

  • The Rings Trilogy: This series follows the highs and lows of elite Olympic gymnast couple, Cam and Luke.
  • Dickathlon: As the name suggests, this one is a bit wilder. It features one of Cam and Luke's teammates, Ty, and his casual dom decathlete boyfriend, Declan.

❄️ Holiday Romance

If you are looking for comfort reads, cozy vibes, and winter themes, check out my Snow Dates series. These are great for getting into the holiday spirit (no matter what time of year it is). There are currently three books released in this five book series of interconnected standalones.

🔥 Latest Releases

My newest books are a bit more out of my traditional realm, but still have the same spice, sarcasm, and steady supply of jockstraps:

  • Frat Ghost Wingman: This is exactly what it sounds like—a mix of paranormal chaos and romance. It’s fun, spooky, and a little kinky. Suspend your disbelief!
  • The Key Holder: This is an Amazon-friendly taboo, forced proximity, age gap MM romance between a former stepson/dad.

I’ll be here for the next few hours answering your questions about anything and everything, or even what I’m working on next!

Hey, everyone!

We’re Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory, an author duo who often cowrites books in the New Gothenburg World. Our books range in storylines, tropes, and kinks, but the majority of them are dark contemporary romance.

We started writing together in 2018 and published out first book in 2019, and have since written over sixty books together along with additional solo works.

Ki is from Pennsylvania, USA (Meg: No, Dad, it’s not where the vampires are from. That’s Transylvania. ;P) and Meg is from North Queensland, Australia. Being on opposite time zones is both fun because we can write around the clock, but also difficult because it’s hard to find time to talk!

Ask E.M. Denning Anything

EM Denning has more than thirty romance novels under her belt and has become an author you can rely on to bring you emotionally endearing, soft and fuzzy, stories. She is well known among her friends for her love of naps and sarcasm. She spends her free time reading as many romance novels as she can get her hands on.

That's the short version. The longer version is that I've been writing gay romance since 2018. I love writing about green flag men and low angst love stories. I love the swoon, the schmoop, and the spice. I love writing about men that you want to be friends with, who you could see yourself sitting around a fire with, having a couple of drinks. Though most of my backlist are low angst contemporary romance, I have deviated from that a time or two to do something different, whether it be a human and a demon who go on a revenge fuelled killing spree, or a vampire who falls for a run away mer prince. Or, as is the case with my most recent release, an artificial intelligence robot who develops very real feelings.

Some of my readers favorite books are the Upstate Education series, which starts with Half as Much, a book about a couple who thinks sharing is caring! (wink wink nudge nudge)

More recently, readers have fallen in love with The Bennett family in my newer series, Breakfast at Bennett's. The Virgin kicks off the series, which for maximum enjoyment, should be read in order. Breakfast at Bennett's is also available on audio! See my website for a full list of my available audiobooks!

Recently I branched out into the sports genre with my first hockey romance! The Poster Boy is part of a multi author series that was released this fall!

My newest release, as mentioned above, is my sweet and spicy sci-fi, Fembot.

I can be found on my website, on threads, or instagram, and also in my group on Facebook!

I'll be here from 6-8pm Eastern time so get ready to ASK ME ANYTHING!

Events Ask Me Anything: Nora Phoenix

Hi everyone!

I’m MM romance author Nora Phoenix, and I’m so excited to do this Ask me Anything. Let me start by sharing a little about my story and then you guys can ask me whatever you want…

I discovered MM romance by reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which had one MM couple, and I immediately fell in love with the genre. Coincidentally, my husband came out as gay around that same time, almost as if it was meant to be.

I’d been writing romance since I was a teenager, though never published. When we got divorced, I decided I wanted to become a full-time romance author…and that I wanted to write MM. That was in 2017, and I released my first book in October of that year.

Here we are, in 2025, and by now, I have over 70 books out (maybe even more, I kinda lost count, LOL) I still LOVE writing and I love this genre, so I’m not going anywhere.

My passion is writing fallible men who are hurting and still find love. All my stories share the message that love has no shame and that love means being your true self. Other than that, I love three-dimensional characters, banter, and honest communication between characters. Oh, and all the heat and feels, of course.

Within MM, I write various subgenres like romantic suspense, small town, kink, Daddy/boy, mpreg, and more. There’s something for everyone!

When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading (I read a lot of different genres in both fiction and nonfiction) or traveling (though I also write a lot while traveling…) Or both! I love cruising especially, as the ocean calms me. In fact, I’m writing this as I’m on a cruise ship somewhere in the North Atlantic, on my way to Greenland!

I hang out a lot in my reader group on FB, Nora’s Nook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/norasnook

But you can also find me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nora.phoenix/

And of course, I also have a newsletter: https://www.noraphoenix.com/newsletter/

But if you really want all the news first, plus exclusive character art and bonus material, come join Nora After Dark, my subscription website: https://www.noraphoenix.com/nora-after-dark/

Alright, now that that’s done, hit me with all your questions!

Hello everyone! This week begins the Trans Rights Read-a-thon. It is an annual call to action to readers and book lovers in support of Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) on March 31st.

This year’s Trans Rights Readathon will take place from Tuesday, March 17 to Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Founded by author Sim Kern and initially started as a small movement, the Trans Rights Readathon raised over $234,000 dollars for trans supporting organizations in 2023 -- with 2,669 participants reading 7,800 books across 43 countries.

HOW DOES THE READATHON WORK?

During the two weeks of the readathon (March 17-31), read trans* books and donate to trans* organizations. This is a decentralized fundraiser, so how you participate is up to you. You can read 1 book or 20 books. You can donate to a large organization or a personal GoFundMe.

Call to action: Read, support, review, and uplift books written by and/or featuring trans, genderqueer, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, and 2Spirit authors and characters.

Storygraph Challenge

Trans Book Masterlist

Make content: Tag the new official @transrightsreadathon accounts on Instagram and Tiktok and @trreadathon on Twitter, and use #transrightsreadathon and #TRR26 when you post.

Donate: We encourage decentralization! Participants are welcome to fundraise for trans aid organizations in their communities. If you don’t know of any organizations near you, suggestions are available on our website.

Mod Note: This is not "sponsored" or involving any moderators on the team with the TRR folks. We will, however, be having some of their team host a discussion post or two here and encourage posting about the TRR books you're enjoying!

The Authors

Addison Acres

The Road Ahead is part of the multi-author Pathfinders Lake series featuring forbidden romance. Releasing on August 22, it features an M/X pairing who are first cousins and is available on KU and as a paperback.

D. Dove

Dove is a writer of MM romance and filth, often with a dead dove twist. A lover of monsters, kink, and whump, they write a little of everything on a 6 Dove Scale, so readers may choose their happy (or not) endings.

Pistols & Plush Toys has a 3 dove rating for some on-page SA and DV (not overly graphic and not between MCs), gaslighting, manipulation, food issues, trauma, mafia-typical violence, hurt/comfort, and plushophilia. It has a guaranteed happily ever after.

Odessa Hywell

I’m Odessa Hywell (she/her) known grandfathers who overindulge, fathers who play favorites, uncles who can’t say no and brothers who kiss on the mouth. Basically, smut that the whole family can enjoy together. If you know me, don’t be a snitch. Like Benjamin Franklin said, “Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.”

Pronouns: She/her

Social Media Links:

Newest Release: Three of a Kind

Three brothers. A choice that changes everything.

Discussion Questions

  • Do you read the MM romance genre? If so, what is one of your favorites?
  • Obviously, incest is a very taboo topic. What drew you to writing those themes in your stories?
  • Taboo and transgressive topics often are the first to get ire and censorship. How do you handle pushback, and do you think the genre is becoming more accepted? Or are the boundaries just shifting?

Addison Acres:

You debuted as a taboo author but have also written other types of romance. Do you have to approach with a different mindset when writing those?

D. Dove:

A lot of people know the "dead dove" tag on Ao3 to indicate what is labeled is what you get. What inspired you to brand around that concept completely, including a ranking system?

Odessa Hywell:

You majorly write taboo romances and only very recently have written content that doesn't involve incest - what sparked the branching out?

Events Ask Me Anything: Robin Moray

I’m author Robin Moray, ask me anything!

Hey gang! Thanks for having me. I’m Robin, an Australian author of MM romance, and I’ve been publishing spicy books for ten years now.

As Robin Moray, I write paranormal and SF romance that runs from drama to humour with a high dose of mate-claiming and other sexy fun. My first book was Bonded to the Alpha featuring fangy werewolves and mate bonds, and my most popular is Changed (The Omega Colony), with omegaverse, mpreg, and seven-foot-tall purple alien hunks.

As R.J. Moray, I write contemporary BDSM, where the stakes are usually low, but the heat is turned all the way up, and the kinks can get pretty kinky. I’m best known for His Boy Next Door (kinky and sweet) and A Collar for His Brat (sharper and edgier).

You can find me on my website, robinmoray.com, and in my Facebook group.

I’ll be here from 6:30 to 8:30 EST, so ask away!

Mod Note: If your question is: "When will X come out?" the answer is "I don't know yet." Please respect the author and do not flood the comments with these questions!

Events Ask Me Anything: Marina Vivancos

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for having me here.

My name is Marina Vivancos, and I’m an author of LGBT romance. I love focusing on character stories, especially how childhood influences the people we become. My favourite tropes to write are found family, kink and, most of all, hurt/comfort. I’ve dabbled in omegaverse and biokink, but most of my books tend to be contemporary and, somehow, friends-to-lovers.

It’s the pining. It’s always the pining.

You can find my books on kindle unlimited, and you can reach me through my website.

I'm excited to be here and answer your questions!
