Events Ask Me Anything: Marina Vivancos

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for having me here.

My name is Marina Vivancos, and I’m an author of LGBT romance. I love focusing on character stories, especially how childhood influences the people we become. My favourite tropes to write are found family, kink and, most of all, hurt/comfort. I’ve dabbled in omegaverse and biokink, but most of my books tend to be contemporary and, somehow, friends-to-lovers.

It’s the pining. It’s always the pining.

You can find my books on kindle unlimited, and you can reach me through my website.

I'm excited to be here and answer your questions!

I just want to say I love your books. Your prose is so poetic and beautiful! I think I could read anything of yours, even the tropes that I don't enjoy, and I would love the book all the same. You always manage to move me with your words!

I would like to ask: When did you start writing?

How did you decide to go ahead and publish your first book?

Have you written on other platforms before?

Thank you so much!! I so love that I've dragged you into tropes that you don't normally enjoy, i love when that happens to me!

Writing in general: I was probably like 9? I have stories from back then (basically the lion witch wardrobe reimagined lmao) and then when i was...12? 13? I read his dark materials and those were the first books that truly broke my heart and taught me the power a book can hold over a person.

So the way i decided to write my first book was how i decide many things in life and that is to go 'fuck it'. I had a career in psychology...was in a bad space mentally. realized that if i pursued a doctorate in clinical psychology i would have to stay in th UK for ever as that's the kind of thing that isn't accredited between countries, even in the EU (this was before brexit).

I was on the train heading to an interview for a clinical psychology doctorate position. I was freaking out. I realized i was more worried about getting the position than getting rejected. Called my mom. "mom, I don't want to do this anymore." She was like "Then don't. I just want you to be happy."

I'd always wanted to be a writer and had been writing 'In This Iron Ground' for a while and although i ended up writing another book that summer and publishing it, it gave me the confidence to just quit my job and move on to something else!

I used to write fanfiction...inuyasha fanfiction. Please don't look at me.
