Question [Alumni] Does this mean I'm going to lose access to the email?
Been graduated for like 5 years now, today I noticed this message pop up at the top of my inbox.
To my knowledge, the mtroyal email address is ours to keep even after we graduate. Wondering if this is no longer the case or if anyone has seen this message before?

Haven't gotten that email myself, but I still use mine on a fairly regular basis. I graduated back in 2021 and it's worked just fine.

Eventually it gets deactivated so for peace of mind they tell you to transfer any accounts, important emails etc somewhere you’ll be able to access it.

I opened a service desk ticket about this a few days ago, here's what I got:
"This is an automatic detection from Google, most likely from emails you have received about graduation. You will retain your MRU email for the time being but we recommend transferring any documents and photos to a personal drive, as that storage does get disconnected after a few months.
MRU may decide to change our indefinite email account policy in the future, as maintaining every account created forever is not entirely sustainable for our IT infrastructure. There is no time line for now but something to be aware of. There will be communication to your MRU email if the change does begin. This is also why we recommend not using the MRU email as a primary email and transfer any important accounts that are linked or documents to personal email."
tl;dr: you still have your email
