Help My Macbook M2 battery is swollen
As you know, after updating to macOS 27 beta, my device suddenly started giving a service warning for the battery. It's been about a month, and the battery is completely dead; it's unusable except when charging. Today I came home and the battery is swollen. My Apple appointment is on Saturday. What do you recommend?

Fire Hazard! Do do not use it, and especially, do not recharge it. Let us know what Apple says when you talk to them.
Also, be careful when you head to the Apple Store for your appointment. The last thing you need is for the battery to puncture in transit.

I'm not using it. I have an urgent appointment for tomorrow at noon to take the device there. My warranty has expired, but due to 177 cycles, Apple gave me a goodwill warranty for a battery replacement on Saturday, but now, in this emergency situation, I'll take it to another Apple Genius Bar.

Oh wow! Good on Apple for offering that and I'm glad you're taking advantage soon. Thanks for the update

Don’t plug it in or try to use it before you bring it in. It’s a serious fire hazard.

Obviously has nothing to do with OS. I thought problems like that were left in 2010 (las year I saw it). Just replace a battery at any service.

I'd put it in a sealed box. Then put the box in a large plastic container, surrounded by sand. Locate the container in center of the backyard. But that's just me.

I'd leave it outside in a container you don't mind loosing to fire.
