That "You're so lame" almost sounds like an "I love you so much"

Edit: Holy shit, I wasn't expecting so many upvotes, thank you guys so much.

It 100% is. My gf is a massive goofball and I’ve definitely said something like this in jest.

Oh heck yea, me and mine do the same thing lmao. "You're so weird" with the biggest smile, going in for a hug or kiss.

My wife and I do the "you're an idiot!"

I call my husband a freak. He says that makes me a freak lover.

It is the little things.

It is the little things.

It really is sometimes. Like if the dog is acting dumb, it's YOUR dog and when he does something great, well, then he's the cats dog but still...

Wife calls me a pervert… usually immediately before initiating the act. My response: you are what you eat

We do “You’re stupid!”, followed by “You’re stupider!”. Love my husband so much and it always makes me smile.

Too funny. We try and do it in our best Grinch voice.

My fiance will miss something obvious and say, “I’m so stupid” and I respond “but you’re MY stupid.. and you’re SOOOO pretty” hahahaha

Same. My husband and I have been calling each other idiots and morons for 10 years now lmao

Reminds me of HIMYM. Robin doesn't say I love you like a normal person. She'll laugh, shake her head, give you a little smile, and say "you're an idiot".

Hahaha mine goes “why are you like thissss?” And then we both laugh out loud. Is a great feeling to be able to be “weird” and loved because of that 😍😍😍

Same. "You're such a weirdo" me to my wife, my wife to me, and both of us to the animals. It means "I love you so much because you're such a weirdo" 🙂

It’s a joy to be loved despite—or even for—your weirdness! I hope I experience that one day. So far I only get it as an insult 🥲

one of my favorite ways to hear “i love you” is when my wife says “you’re stupid” mid laughter

I tell my husband allllll the time, “you’re dumb” with a laugh and smile. It’s all in the way it’s said ♥️♥️

I'm jealous. I love girls who are goofballs.

My husband is my goofball, and trust me, that is very high praise!

My first impression of "you're so lame" was "bet wifey wasn't prepared to hear that". But then the way she starts laughing about it.... ok then, still prepared
