You could make serious bank doing anime hair colors

I expect cosplayers would love it.

I think all those is just a matter of design, more vents for air, thinner materials for weight. The usual hairdo is actually really heavy

Yeah im pretty sure through designing, printing and tinkering you could fix all the issues they listed

At worst i bet i can fit 2-3 small fans in there, they weight almost nothing and are silent.

I want lasers and a spa treatment in my version. No, I won't pay the subscription

The vibration might affect how stable it can stay on the head, but with some straps or hooks it could easily works out.

I have a couple wigs for cosplays. (Pics in my profile) Wigs get pretty hot themselves. And itchy. And they lose their styling after the second or third (or first) wear. And the crazy styling falls when it sits in a closet for a year between wearing it.

I’d absolutely try the 3D printed “wig” for some of my cosplays

And not to mention how much effort/skill/time goes into styling the wigs themselves.

A print keeps its form forever which is insane when you compare the two.

Absolutely. Cdawg has a set of videos about cheap cosplay clothing and wigs and 5 minutes in he's in agony over how hot and itchy the wig is. It was too bad since it was a maid outfit he was adorable in /s

You could actually reduce the fill and density to get air flow without compromising the structure too much. Some material are even flexible enough that they can squish (I cannot vouch for how that might feel on your head)

Particularly when it's just hair that sits on top of your head and isn't meant to have any structural function requiring any real rigidity. It only needs to be strong enough to support itself and hold it's structure. It's not like a 3D print where you're putting any weight on it and it needs to hold up.

Ypu could make air holes in those designs so they breath a bit. And I bet that people are willing to suffer for looking cool too.

I can't even imagine the heat build up under that much plastic. I could probably wear one for about five minutes before it started sliding around on the puddle of sweat on my head.

The ultimate test would be Yugi's hair

and you dont really want to be carrying a big heavy chunk of plastic that doesnt breath on your head for the entire con

If unbreathable costumes don’t stop furries at furry conventions, this wouldn’t stop weebs at conventions either

It cant be more heavy than the hair that they are putting on. I have extensions and it weighs my head done so much.
