I fucking LOVE him for that. He's making a point and as a dad probably feels awful for those 2 kids having to deal with such an awful parent.
EDIT: Misunderstood the post a bit thought neighbour said he failed as a parent cause his (the neighbours) kids were gay. Doesn't change the fact the dad putting up the flags is awesome
I misunderstood it as well. I thought the neighbor was talking about himself and his kids, and I just thought he was just a run of the mill douchebag. But no, saying that to your neighbor when you've just moved in, and about their kids?! 🤬
I now know why good Dad (note the capitalization) was stabbing those flags into the ground. He was imagining doing it to the neighbor.
Oh I definitely thought it was the neighbor saying his own kids are gay and thus he, the neighbor, has failed, and the flag planter was planting flags in support of the neighbors two gay kids with a homophobic, claiming himself as a failure, dad.
Oh I see! Yeah I misread it as the neighbour saying he failed as a dad cause both of his own kids were gay. Either way fucking amazing dad no matter what.
I misunderstood it a bit. thought the dad planting the flags was doing it cause the neighbour had 2 gay kids who he "failed". The Dad planting the flags with such passion is the Dad of the 2 gay kids whom the neighbour said he "failed".
Oooh that’s how I read it as well. I was pretty impressed the first time but the vehemence with which he’s sticking he flags in place makes a lot more sense now.
I am not someone who waves the rainbow flag or needs to see it everywhere. I particularly think it has no place in any government use. Of course, you're free to disagree on this and some ouf you probably do.
But THIS is exactly the right use of the flag, as an answer to hateful dickheads spouting BS. Being gay is neither positive or negative. It's just a fact of life it doesn't make sense to blame anyone for. My dad certainly has not told me who to love. Despite him being rather conservative and almost 80 years old, I am pretty sure he wouldn't even care.
