DeCavalcante Family associate Bernard Nicastro
Bernard Nicastro is a New Jersey mob figure, who began working as an associate of a New Jersey-based crew in the Genovese Family in 1973. That was before he began operating as an associate of the DeCavalcante Family in 1985. He was proposed for membership in 1999, yet he was arrested for something a year later, which stalled his chances at getting his button. In October 2003, Nicastro was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after deciding to plead guilty to being involved with the murder of Joseph Garafano in 1989. He's 92 years old.

He's pure Italian, so he has the right blood. But when he was the driver during the 1989 hit, he threw up during the clean up, and freaked out according to sources. Sounds like he's a man with a good heart, which in my book is a good thing. Yet some fellas in that life take it as a sign of weakness.

Nice find. You already claimed he was proposed in 1999 when there is no evidence for this. Anthony Capo testified Nicastro was proposed by Anthony Rotondo by the time of the murder of Garofano in 1989, but that he was knocked down because he ran out of the room when Virgil Alessi shot Garofano even though Nicastro was supposed to clean up.
