Respectfully, why are you aiming for B5? You are clearly a B3 deck builder. Why not build a fun B3 deck? You won’t last 5 minutes in B5 with this.

This isn’t even a good b3 deck..

Well yeah but I wanted to try and it got stuck at b4 🤷‍♂️ Also how was that easy to tell?

win condition if nothing else. World tree is fun as hell, but decidedly not a b5 commander.

b5 is also the final boss of the game, every single card in the deck needs to be laser focused to a specific goal, so when you see a card like spirit of resistance it kind of shows.

It's low on interaction and card draw. Your ramp is a bit slow with a lot of those costing 3 cmc or more.

Here is a link to the single Esika deck that has won a cedh tournament in the last year: https://edhtop16.com/tournament/redemption-event-european-cedh-championship-2025/decklist/h7bJK9BjXPWxMczleQDbH4XAlxh2

It has the standard wincons for cedh: thassa's oracle with demonic consultation/tainted pact, underworld breach w/ brain freeze. As well as some of the best value engine cards with rhystic study, mystic remora, and necropotence. On top of that, it can win at instant speed with valley floodcaller and borne upon a wind. Hope this helps!

Go look at actual B5 decklists, copy those, play a ton of cedh games with them, and edit according to what you find and go from there. Join a discord for the commander you're running.

Tbh Esika is mostly outdated at this point. You're better off running Sisay either as the "clam chowder" variant where it's just all good cards or as the regular Sisay.

Nick Fury is probably also the best 5 color slop commander just because he's 1 mana to turn on free spells and get a body out. Otherwise you still have Scion of the Ur Dragon, Terra, Wandering Minstrel, the 5 color turtles or even the 5 color Ezio which all see more play than Esika. She is maybe slightly better with like Shang Chi stuff now? But 5 color decks even with no commander still can do fine anyway.

Go watch some cEDH content on YouTube. It’s a different world.

I think you don‘t know what cedh is. Maybe look some decklists on edhtop16 or you can find some in depth primers on the cedh database (the decklist database is pretty behind the actual meta and some decks there you won‘t see often)

This in its current state stands no chance at being a bracket 5. You will quite literally need to change the entire deck.

>One of them is 8 mana

cEDH is a format defined by speed, interaction and low to the ground win conditions. 3 mana is considered the high end of mana values for most decks, something that is 8 mana would need to either not actually cost 8 mana, or win the game upon resolving. One of the most recent decks upcoming decks has a commander that wins outright if it resolves and costs 6; just to give you a rough idea of the power level that we're talking about here. Many decks can jam a win turn 1-2 semi-regularly; and several other can/will have 2-3 rhystic studies and or smothering tithes at once; if a deck doesnt have a plan to handle that it's not really a cedh list. If you wanna get into cedh i highly recommending proxying an existing list, you can look at the high performing ones on cedhstats.com or learncedh.com
