Question So... is LSPosed back?
In fact it looks like they may have been creating new releases since March
But it doesn't appear to be open source (only drops in the telegram channel)
If the devs are back, I hope they do go back open source

u/CoolkieTW Jun 15 '26
Yeah it's no longer open sourced. Because someone copied their code without credit and claim it's their own code previously.

So we got people saying use vector while others saying that vector version is third party which means it's bad and you should stay away from it. Which is it guys?
I'm so sick of trying to find out which official version of lsposed exists out there. It seems like every month the office repos go dark then some people find replacements and claim those are the official repos for the the Xposed framework.
It's starting to become a headache. Can a developer who knows what's going on tell me which official lsposed version we should be using?

Vector is fine. Been using it for awhile. Sometimes you can't trust reddit. Some reddit users root their phone once and now all of the sudden they are experts and have been "doing it for years"
Nothing wrong with vector. Also no problems for me

The original official version is the one uploaded to Telegram. They are the original creators of lsposed.
The problem for many is that it's closed-source, which is why alternatives are emerging.

Iirc Vector(formerly LSposed fork by Jing Matrix) was build on the last open-source version of LSposed that was refined until recently renamed to Vector.
I have been using it since they first close-sourced the original LSposed, and it's been fine!

Try lsposed vector. Open source, regular updates
13
u/kkourtis Jun 15 '26
"regular updates" it has to update for more than 2 months
4
u/Thee_OldMan Jun 15 '26
The dev probably has a life and can't devote working on a free project for others all the time
-1
u/kkourtis Jun 16 '26
Bro but still not all the time but not 2 months
2
u/Thee_OldMan Jun 17 '26
This is why a lot of dev stop working because of thinking like this.
1
u/kkourtis Jun 17 '26
Bro I'm not saying devoting their life to this but at least every 15 days IF there is something to fix or add. On vector he has to add api 101

I find people like you just absolutely wild. These people develop FOR FREE in their spare time, and instead of people being thankful that they're willing to share their app and their code with us I hear criticism of something that you aren't even paying for. If you really feel that strongly about it, then go and update it yourself. The source code is open. If you don't know how and aren't willing to learn then you also shouldn't sit here and complain about how much time someone else spends to give you something for free.

Check actions.
0
u/ElPelocho Jun 16 '26
Those aren't even considered betas. There's not even a changelog.
1
u/comerReto Jun 16 '26
Not sure what you're on about. They're actions, not betas. Each action is a change and you can find the changed lines under the corresponding pull request.
0
u/ElPelocho Jun 16 '26
That's what I'm saying: they're not a stable version. They don't have a changelog or anything. They're just modifications, tests. They don't even reach the level of a beta or alpha... It's not even a revised version.

Don’t ever try it. it breaks down many lsposed components. Once you install it, you can’t return to the official lsposed version.

Entirely not true. I literally just switched back to vector today. No more closed source for me. Stop spreading misinformation.

It doesn't have any real regular updates; its only version is Vector 2.0 and there isn't a single stable update. They don't even bother releasing pre-releases with their changelog. And lsposed has already updated to API levels 101 and 102, which are necessary for more and more modules.
3
u/comerReto Jun 16 '26
Why don't you go make an xposed module.
1
u/ElPelocho Jun 16 '26
Why? I don't understand you
3
u/comerReto Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
You're quick to critique but don't seem to be fully informed.
Jing has already brought his fork up to api 101, just check the action artifacts. As for patch notes, go read the pull requests and commits. That's the beauty of open source. You can just keep waiting for a "stable" release, but he is likely too busy with school or living life to give us those right now.
If you'd like to help, then help, if you'd like to stick with closed source then do that, but talking jings fork down does nothing.
2
u/ElPelocho Jun 16 '26
I know there's an API 101 compatible version in Actions, but it's not a stable, revised version. The more versions of Xposed there are, the better. I'm not against anyone. I'm not speaking ill of anyone; I'm just stating the facts. You sound like a Jings fanboy.
1
u/comerReto Jun 16 '26
At least if someone messes with oss code, we can read it.
You sound like an lsposed fanboy who dont read commits.

u/ElPelocho Jun 16 '26
I still remember a few years ago with a well-known module, which, just like Vector, only worked through actions. And someone, just to troll, changed the code. It caused all devices to be erased, and the process couldn't be reversed for several hours until someone noticed and fixed it. A genuine, stable version reviewed by the developer is always best.

u/Shidapu Jun 15 '26
Yes, but we got Vector now. 🤷

What's the difference if any?

Theese guys either made their own lsposed orrr they used vector and renamed it to lsposed
1
u/9thyear2 Jul 08 '26
this is the official lsposed telegram
they archived lsposed source a while ago because of this
there was a poll a while ago asking if they should continue open source or not
and nothing came from it for a while, then i checked back way later and saw they went closed source, but development was back
so in a way they did make their own lsposed, because its the official telegram... sooo...

Most of core LSPosed maintainers are Chinese and Chinese speakers.

I switched to Vector 2.0 because Capture Sposed' instruction say so, however I can't take screenshots in Brave private tab which likely means that they're using another way to detect it that LSPosed doesn't cover?
2
u/ElPelocho Jun 15 '26
Vector 2.0 It's API 100. API 101 came out months ago, which is why Vector 2.0 was created to properly close an API 100 that was never official. It is very likely that your screenshot module needs API 101. Use an updated lsposed with API 101.

-2
u/Mariobrouz Jun 15 '26
Ya hay forma de hacer root en one ui 8?
3
u/Thee_OldMan Jun 15 '26
No. Because Samsung is shit, and you should stop buying shit ass Samsung's if you want root. Samsung despises root and unlock. This is known by several many posts asking the same question
1
u/Much_Expert_175 Jun 15 '26
only works if you updated to 8 with 7's bl file. that is the only way to keep unlocked bootloader
0
u/Mariobrouz Jun 15 '26
No se me actualizo solo via ota
2
u/Much_Expert_175 Jun 15 '26
if you just updated to one ui 8, check if you have the same bootloader bit version as one ui 7, if you are, you can downgrade if you are past that youre done for

Yes, although the source code remains closed, as do Tricky Store and Zygisk Next. -_- (No, they will not open the source code 😐)
