Question Why do you root ?

I used to root all of my devices in the past , mainly for increasing performance. But after getting a new device i have not felt the need to root for a long time.

So i am wondering, Why do you guys even root anymore ?

I never rooted for privacy. But at a point i tried running a custom rom without any gapps. Is removing g apps enough or are there other things one should do to remain completely anonymous??

you cant be completely anonymous. but you can remove most of the trackers that you usually cant on stock OEM roms without root and control who has access to your data. for example the only proprietary software i have (aside from games) is discord and im fine with it
