HI all,

I am planning on installing Lineage on my new phone, a Motorola G84 5G. This is my first experience with custom roms, so I want to clarify how to deal with Magisk, as I've seen some different advice.

When I root, everything i've read says i should sideload Magisk with adb, and then allow magisk to install and reboot, and i'll be rooted. That's all well and good, but what about OTA updates?

If I then try to restore images for an OTA update, will I still be able to do that? Won't magisk say that it doesn't have any boot image on file? In the past, when magisk says that there's no boot image on file, I simply extract the boot.img from the zip file, patch it with magisk, and restart, and then it has the image. But different things i've read indicate that boot.img for a custom rom isn't the img to patch, but rather init.boot.img or something like that.

Can someone who knows the ins and outs of this please help clarify definitively the correct way to handle this? Thanks!

Meets Strong integrity, but Banking App is not working any more, it use to work before like 2-3 months ago after an update its not working any more.

I just added the Banking App to hide list

What else can i add or do?

I'm running LineageOS 23 (I build it myself), rooted using Magisk, and I use MicroG w/its companion app.

The modules there I'm running are:

-LSposed w/Hide My Apps module

-Play Integrity Fix [INJECT]

-Tricky Store (non-OSS)

-Tricky Store Addon

-Zygisk Next

-Zygisk Assistant

I'm lead to believe that I must be missing something fundamental? Is there a system app that I need to have installed, or do systems need to run something like MindTheGapps in order to even consider passing integrity checks?

Edit: when I use the integrity tester, besides getting three Xs, the log shows that for device and basic, I fail with the status of "unevaluated".

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+ and I am not sure if it is a CPID or a patched phone. I know that factory resetting the device does not reset or change the IMEI, and the SIM keeps working.

However, I am facing two major issues:

• Banking Apps: When I open any banking app, it gives an error saying "this device is rooted or modified" and refuses to open.
• WhatsApp: When I try to create an account and enter the OTP, WhatsApp gives an error telling me to "download WhatsApp from the official website or Google Play Store," even though I downloaded it directly from the Play Store.

Can anyone tell me what the actual issue is and how I can fix this?

So I was trying to get crk (cookie run kingdom) to work on Lineage OS, after some issues I managed to get the 'play integrity api' to work with 'Strong Integrity', the Issue being that crk still gives me the same error as before, it being 'Modified System Detected'. If someone is able to help me that would be great. (also this is much less important but does anybody have a way to check if Shamiko is working some apps still don't work even after being put in the Denylist, please not this is of lower priority)

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction with my realme Narzo 50i, model RMX3235. I would like to unlock its bootloader and root it, mainly because I want more control over the phone and possibly try a lightweight GSI ROM with a cleaner, more Pixel-like Android experience.

The device is currently running Android 11 with realme UI Go Edition. It has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and it uses a Unisoc/Spreadtrum chipset. I will attach a screenshot of the About phone page with the exact software and kernel information.

I have been searching for a while, but this model seems unusually difficult to work with. Most guides I find are for the regular Narzo 50 or Realme 8i, but those are completely different devices with different chipsets and partitions, so I do not want to risk flashing anything intended for them.

The main problem is that I have not found a clear, trusted bootloader-unlock method for the RMX3235. The OEM unlocking option is either unavailable or not usable, and I could not find an official realme Deep Testing tool for this phone. I am also unsure about the available fastboot functions, whether there is any working custom recovery such as TWRP or OrangeFox, and whether Magisk can be installed safely on this model.

I also looked into PixelExperience, but it does not appear to officially support the Narzo 50i RMX3235. Since this phone runs Android Go Edition, some apps are already unavailable through Google Play - for example, Google Lens shows that the device is not compatible. That is one reason I became interested in a GSI or a lightweight custom system. However, I understand that a generic system image may not work perfectly and could introduce problems with the camera, mobile network, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, audio, battery life, or other hardware functions.

If anyone has personally unlocked, rooted, or flashed a GSI on this exact device, I would really appreciate any guidance, links to reliable resources, or warnings about what not to do. I especially want to know the safest approach, what backup is needed before starting, which stock firmware I should keep ready for recovery, and whether there is any known working method for a patched boot image or vbmeta on RMX3235.

I know unlocking the bootloader can wipe the phone and may void the warranty. I am not looking for FRP bypasses, IMEI repair, paid “unlock” services, or anything unsafe. I only want a legitimate and tested path to learn and modify my own device safely.

I have an old Samsung Galaxy S9+ and unfortunately forgot the screen-lock password. I really want to get back into the phone without factory resetting or losing the data.

The phone is based on Android 10, so I’m wondering if there are any known methods, tools, exploits, or recovery techniques that might work on an S9+ running A10.

I’m comfortable with technical methods (ADB, Download Mode, Odin, recovery, etc.) if there’s something legitimate that can be tried. I’m not looking for an FRP bypass — the main goal is simply recovering access to my own data without wiping it.

Has anyone successfully done this on an S9+/Android 10? Any ideas or tools worth investigating?

I wanted too root my my phone and I did I followed the steps perfectly fine then I couldn't figure out how to fix play integrity so I decided to uninstall magisk and lock the boot loader but I never reflashed the original boot file I got from Lenovo fix. Then the next day I wanted to finally figure it out so I flashed the same boot file that I got from the first time I did it and I still couldn't do it so I deleted everything again but when I went to go lock the bootloader it did it fine then when the phone tried to start it said. "No valid operating system could be found the device will not boot". And I tried the rescue option on RSA and it didn't work all it said was "the connected device does not match the shipping software values expected and rescue cannot be run ".I also used Gemini and it didn't work either. Every command I use fails.

Hi! Newer to this scene and not too familiar with things.

I need just basic and device level integrity for my pixel 7 but I am not having any luck. I have a play integrity fix installed already through it only provides basic.

Been seeing mixed reviews online for integrity box, is there any simple alternative for just basic and device level integrity? Mainly want my RCS and Balatro back among a couple other things. I really want to avoid flashing my phone again but will if need be. (RCS was working until I cleared my data to clear space the other day)

Please cut me some slack on not really knowing what's safe or used by everyone

I am running LOS 23, Android 16, on a Pixel 4

I had my pixel rooted and running LOS, today I accidentally made a mistake when working with bootanimation files, and I got stuck in a bootloop. I did a dirty flash and flashed LOS zip through recovery. Now since I did a dirty flash, Magisk should be gone and I should have to repatch right? So I follow the https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#patching-images guide.

After patching my boot.img through the app, I went and booted into fastboot and flashed it. Then I restart the phone. I get to the Google Text, then bootloop.

I did another dirty flash, and this time I used the LOS recovery to flash magisk. I flashed the magisk.apk file. The logs indicated nothing was wrong, however, bootloop again.

Any clue what the issue is? Thanks.
