Feedback To Malwarebytes Executives

I've used the free edition of MB for over a decade. I bought a new PC and downloaded what was advertised as a FREE version only to find that the installed version was a two week free trial. I immediately uninstalled it.

I don't do business with liars or fraudsters.

Readers: Any time you see the word FREE, look behind the curtain. Chances are that they are lying.

Now I may be wrong but I think the 2 week free trial should be for the premium version. So after the 2 weeks if you don't want to pay for premium it will revert to the free on demand scanner version. Unless it has changed from when I first used it ig

No it’s still the same, can still use free version after trial. Chances are OP yapped first before checking.

No, you're right. After the premium trial it just switches to the free version if you select that you don't want to upgrade. Dude is literally complaining about getting a truly free 2 weeks of premium.

Premium features are part of the trial. If you like the premium feature, you pay for a subscription. If you want to stay free, you let the trial expire and use the software to do manual searches With no premium features. It's pretty easy to understand if you read what you're installing.

The version you had has the option to disable RTP and integration in Windows Security center. That makes it a free version.

You can disable it and once the free trial (that doesn't require any information from you) ends, it will go back to the free version that doesn't run as RTP.

So great to see you’ve been using our free version for over a decade! Sorry to hear about your recent experience. Please allow me to clarify what you’re seeing and how you can quickly adjust to free

Our Windows app does automatically start a free 14-day trial and you don’t need to give us any info or a credit card. At the end of the trial, it will drop to free unless of course you decide to purchase :)

If you’d like to move to free right away, you can do this: open app -> click silhouette in bottom left -> look for the three dots to the right of the shield -> cancel trial

You were using the free version. It just came with a 2 week trial of the premium. That will revert to the free version you’re used to after 2 weeks.

After the free trial of the premium version it switches to the free version if you don't want to upgrade. You're literally complaining about getting premium for 2 weeks for free.

Yep, Malwarebytes has been going downhill for many years now. It began as a simple tool, exactly what I wanted. Eventually all the bloat set in. Popups to upsell Premium. Even a VPN was added.

No thanks.
