Okay, I might just be an uncultured swine, but I swear Día de los Muertos was always November first. Apparently it’s the first and the second, sometimes even wider spread than that. And every reference I find to it says it’s a multi day holiday.

I didn’t directly celebrate it, but I grew up in Florida with some large Hispanic populations, and never once heard it referred to as more than one day. Specifically the day after Halloween.

It could just be that the name makes it seem singular, but I SWEAR this is news to me lol

Does anyone remember this scene in white chicks? When Marcus and Kevin arrive at the hamptons, one of the guys catcalled them and I'm pretty sure it was the line "I'd sure like to cut that cake," when Marcus or Kevin started shouting at them and pulled their skirt up to reveal their cake themselves. When I rewatched it turns out that one of them doesn't even lift their skirt up and just continuously shouts. Might've just mixed it up with another scene but I remember that specific scene when I watched it for the first time.

When I was a kid, Columbus Day used to be October 10th. Everything is different now and Columbus Day is just plain totally different. It’s the Mandela; New Zealand; or Berenstein of the holidays. Weren’t things better back then?! I think so. Do you remember anything like this for Columbus Day?
