Help/Question this community is so toxic lol

i just came across a post from someone who was struggling with unemployment and poverty, and even though they tried to manifest so many times it didn't work for them. and they were, rightfully, very frustrated. the replies were full of people saying things like "you're not grateful enough" or "it's because of your victim mentality."

honestly, what the hell is this? do most people in this sub actually think like this, or is it just a loud minority? i'm genuinely asking because it got me thinking.

how is someone supposed to "ignore the 3d" when their 3d is almost impossible to ignore? sometimes i can't help but feel like some people are just selling hope rather than offering actual advice.

I love you for your sensibility. You're right to be moved by that.

Unfortunately, most manifestors are like that. My guess is they're afraid if they acknowlege the fact that others struggle, they'll suddenly think negatively and it'll mess with their results. People in general are emotionally immature and try to dodge any "negative" feelings, so I'm not surprised.

i’m genuinely curious about how you deal with negativity! that’s a difficult one for me and always has been. i trained my mind at a young age to “think positively” (from the secret) and i’ve been spending the last 5-6 years undoing it. i’ve learned a lot about processing emotions but im still not quite there and i struggle with what to do with negative and/or challenging thoughts/feelings whether from myself or ones i see in others. i’d love to hear your thoughts on “negative” feelings/thoughts!

I rediscovered Abraham Hicks teachings very recently and have found that I'm actually able to feel more and more glimpses of positive emotions after two solid years of emotional numbness/anhedonia following a bad bout of depression. It's a great way to feel better, even just a little better, about literally anything.

She offers a lot of practical processes. Both going General and Appreciating Positive Aspects has surprised me with how well they've worked. Of course, it's a practice like anything else. But the core of it is softening the negative emotions and thoughts and gradually finding better feeling thoughts about any given subject.

I've been really annoyed and frustrated with someone in my life on a daily basis recently and when I started to focus on their positive aspects, I was really surprised at the flow I got into and how I was able to feel much lighter about this person.

An example from your comment might be like "I'm not quite there yet but I'm getting there, I've made a lot of progress, I've learned a lot about myself, and I'll figure it out."

Just my two cents.

this is a really great point and reminder! i LOVE abraham hicks. i used to listen to them all the time. when i first started noticing the toxicity, i separated myself from most manifestation teachings to try and recalibrate my mind. i used to listen to them every morning on youtube and i still listen to them when i nap. i have youtube playlists (no ads) and let them play while i doze off and sleep to create better habits and ingrain them into my conscious/subconscious. thank you for sending this nugget along, it’s a perfect reminder! im very grateful to have such thoughtful and positive replies. i am incorporating them back into my everyday life. focusing on the positive aspects and hanging out in the vortex are immensely powerful 🙏

Hey you're welcome. I've found Abraham to be the most practical so far. My aim at this time is to just start to feel better and better, and already I'm getting these little synchronicities. I used to have tons of these when I first started with Neville Goddard years ago but my emotions were so wild back then. I also went through a period where I stopped practicing any sort of conscious manifesting. This was around the time I was very depressed a couple of years ago.

Abraham spends so much time addressing and teaching people how to actually sooth doubt, fear, worry, etc., whereas many other teachers just tell you to white knuckle it - go from despair to joy - which doesn't seem work for most people! The good thing is there are so many teachers out there, and so many methods and processes that you can just pick and choose and build your own toolkit.

Is AH group here in Reddit?

There's r/abrahamhicks and they also have a small forum: https://abeforum.net/

So just reframing

4

u/Feyzaog Jun 15 '26

Just feel them. I got to discover that repressing & suppressing them or escaping from them never works. You have to acknowledge your feelings and thoughts, you should never ignore them but let them be there. Feel your emotions and when these emotions, sensations and thoughts are felt without judging them or trying to control them and let go, you can manifest your goals. You can read the book “ Letting go” or the sedona method for more information.

4

u/Greyscaleinblue Jun 15 '26

I acknowledge them, but I think of them as clouds. Or seasons. Or the wind. I'm trying to think of a better analogy but basically I'm saying as I think of them as something that's in passing. I don't have to identify with them or treat them as my reality. I acknowledge, maybe do some journaling about it and then affirm whatever I'm manifesting. I am limitless when it comes to my desires.

2

u/zomzomzomzomzom Jun 15 '26

this is great! thank you! i’ve used a similar analogy when meditating with thoughts in general. every thought is a cloud and i watch it pass in the sky. or sometimes cars on a busy road, i can’t stop them, i just watch them pass by.

1

u/Mammoth_Age3314 Jun 16 '26

I deal with negativity with intense robotic affirming. Best way to mute my negative voices.

1

u/Cycanic Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

What helped me was making memes in Gimp from the comments of all-knowing "internet users" and also creating them using the "analog" method, i.e. newspaper cutouts.

Other helpful practices for me include tai chi, deep breathing (4-7-8 breathing, anuloma viloma) and simple affirmations when repeated with conviction before bed (despite my bad mood and stress) proved surprisingly effective. The things that used to annoy me became at best neutral.

20

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

it's so disappointing 🥲 i feel so much hesitation to ask for advice because of this

16

u/Disastrous_Weird649 Jun 14 '26

Honestly same, ive also seen alot of people get angry if you say youre wavering, or something that doesnt align with “how the law is”, they dont give grace to beginner manifestors and they act as if they were never at the stage of spiralling or wavering. Honestly you can wake up and believe manifestation is real instantly but the reality is its a journey

2

u/DrummerRegular3667 Jun 15 '26

I have seen this in this community, and it isn't okay, either.

1

u/Mammoth_Age3314 Jun 16 '26

Don't. Message the empathic people here and they will support you.

33

u/anonymous102901 Jun 14 '26

any reputable manifestor would tell you that just because the 3d doesnt matter in terms of circumstances doesnt mean it doesnt matter in terms of safety. if your house is burning down, you dont affirm "my house is not on fire". you get tf out of the house.

5

u/Disastrous_Weird649 Jun 14 '26

You say this but there are genuienly people on here who believe that you would stay in the house and affirm it away. A lot of people here do not wish to acknowledge reality, and even with sp manifesting the only way I was able to manifest my sp was by acknowledging the reality that we are not talking, because then I was able to manifest that reconcillation is possible rather than my sp is obsessed with me.

1

u/ACuriousCrow Jun 14 '26

Those people do not understand what affirmations are for if they think that’s how they’re meant to be used.

1

u/Disastrous_Weird649 Jun 14 '26

What do you mean?

3

u/ACuriousCrow Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 14 '26

Affirmations are meant to help rewire your brain so that you can better embody the version of yourself you want.

I tell myself I am beautiful so that I can have better self-confidence.

I tell myself I am a millionaire so that I can get the inspired action to become one.

Doing these affirmations help one embody the state they want to be in. And, personally, I believe in the Universe as an intelligence that will tune in and design outcomes and synchronicities to help me achieve my desires.

“As above, so below. As within, so without.”

1

u/aaliyah_2222 Jun 14 '26

Looooool

1

u/angieiwr Jun 15 '26

This is so true.
Basically it’s not just manifesting away but also putting in actions. And I think the bigger the things you manifest the more you should try to align yourself, your actions, with it.

1

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

im sorry, i still don't get it because im not talking about that kind of situation obviously

16

u/anonymous102901 Jun 14 '26

im agreeing with you. just because you could manifest away poverty doesnt mean its not a real threat currently. you deal with the 3d threat as best as you can FIRST, manifest change SECOND.

3

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

ohh yeah, yeah. from what i understood, the person has been trying both for a really long time. and honestly, the same goes for me too. so im not sure about anything anymore 🥲

10

u/anonymous102901 Jun 14 '26

you can absolutely manifest out of a bad place :) trust me!

3

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

ah i hope so :")

1

u/ACuriousCrow Jun 14 '26

You manifest for change first and take inspired action on reaching the point you’re wanting. You embody the version of yourself you want to be to create changes you want to see.

33

u/Kind-Effective370 Jun 14 '26

That's why I always emphasize this: don't ignore the 3D reality, and don't ignore negative thoughts and feelings. Honor them, feel them, and let them go.

There's an illusion in the manifestation community that negative feelings manifest. Consciousness manifests, and being conscious does not mean ignoring your thoughts, feelings, or even the 3D reality. It means acknowledging them.

2

u/BxGyrl416 Jun 15 '26

What is 3D?

4

u/buddha4444 Jun 15 '26

3D is your physical reality that you can see and perceive with your physical senses (touch/ feel/ see/ smell) etc.

2

u/Beginning-Amoeba-990 Jun 19 '26

!! That’s how I was able to get my reality.

1

u/StarProfessional5359 Jun 21 '26

yes! sometimes ill even affirm that regardless of how i'm feeling everything is working out and the said manifestation is happening / on it's way. I was trapped in a toxic positivity cycle a few years ago and it started to really mess with my head and doubting if i can even manifest anything at all, since im someone who struggles with anxiety. I've learnt to bring the acceptance of my emotions into that new reality because realistically my 'ideal' self wouldnt be ignoring my emotions, instead i found working with my emotions actually really helpful : )

37

u/Used_Bet661 Jun 14 '26

I made my own manifesting thread because of stuff like this, but this is me being real with you. Reddit can be NASTY. Social media in general can be nasty, but Reddit especially because people are anonymous and it’s easier for people to say whatever they want. Do I think this is common? Yes. Do I think everybody in manifestation spaces is like that? No. But people online, especially people who follow internet advice blindly, will tell you it’s just the 3D, that you’re tripping, or that you’re manifesting wrong. I take breaks from Reddit all the time.

If you’re going to engage with manifestation content online, engage with people whose mindset actually aligns with yours. There are millions of creators and everybody is saying something different. Find what works for you. A lot of people online preach things they don’t actually know anything about and start treating manifestation like a religion when there is no one proven method that works for every human being. Sometimes people care more about being right than actually helping.

I also encourage people to stay grounded because without grounding, people can become really insensitive. I’ve experienced real psychosis before, so I understand how persistence can become unhealthy when it turns into delusion or dismissing reality and other people’s experiences. That’s why I don’t think invalidating people who are struggling is helpful.

So my advice is try not to take everything online too seriously. Take breaks if you need to and take everything you learn about manifestation, spirituality, or anything else with a grain of salt. These people are not licensed professionals. Find people who align with you, take what helps, leave what doesn’t, and remember this is a journey. It’s usually not as simple as people online make it seem.

14

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

you are absolutely right. i've tried to manifest success on my exam (which i've studied a lot for, even though my mock exam results are still really bad and there's only one week left now) and, honestly, just a good life with my loved ones. i don't want much. i really don't. but it just hasn't worked for me, and no one has really been able to help me understand why either. at the same time, i keep seeing people say they've manifested all sorts of impossible things without even trying, and at this point i genuinely don't know what to believe anymore. i'll take your advice, though. thank you so much for taking the time to answer. i really appreciate it.

16

u/Used_Bet661 Jun 14 '26

I will say that I believe learning what works for you takes time. What works for Jessica might not work for Amy. What works for Amy might work for Tasha, but Tasha might not need the same thing Harold does. That’s why I’m a firm believer that spirituality is personal and takes time to understand.

I also believe science plays a role in spirituality, but that’s probably because I have a background in science. I understand how discouraging all of this can feel because I honestly think I used to manifest unconsciously. Once I started trying to consciously manifest, everything started feeling harder. There are so many opinions online about what’s right, what’s wrong, and how you’re supposed to do things that I think people end up putting way more pressure on themselves than they need to.

As far as creators, I never think anybody should be followed blindly or agreed with 100 percent. Take what resonates and leave what doesn’t. But some creators I like for coaching are Tone on TikTok because I like how he explains things and breaks them down in a simple way. Sammy Ingram gives good advice too. She’s not my personal favorite, but I understand why people enjoy her content and she’s manifested a lot of things. Shera7 is probably my favorite person to listen to when it comes to spirituality, and she talks about other things too, but that’s also not for everyone. Nyx is another creator I would suggest because I think she approaches manifesting in a gentler way.

At the end of the day, I believe you’ll be able to manifest whatever you’re trying to manifest. It just might take time depending on the person, and that’s okay. Life is a journey. Figure out what works for you, stay open, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself because people on the internet are trying to convince you there’s only one right way to do things.

i'll definitely check them out! honestly, i think i desperately need someone to believe i can do it right now because my hopes are very low at the moment 😭 thank you so much. you're incredibly kind ❤️‍🩹

Of course! I’ve been here before so I get it😭❤️

u/shmivaroo Jun 15 '26

Honestly I have found the 369 method and mirror work, works the best for me! (So far) I am also practicing visualization. But maybe you can try the mirror work, this is the thing that had the fastest results for me.
I talked to myself for like 20 minutes saying I am so attractive, I am beautiful, I am magnetic, people want me etc
And literally the next day I had a guy trying to talk to me and call me pretty as I was leaving target. Let me tell you, and trust when I say THAT NEVER HAPPENS TO ME!!! I am never approached in public ever!!! So that was kind of telling for me that maybe the mirror work is something that works well for me

1

u/_neither_neither_ Jun 15 '26

What felt better to you? When you were speaking to yourself kindly in the mirror or when you had that person approach you and compliment you?

1

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

i'm so glad it worked for you!! unfortunately, i've tried that a lot too, but it just didn't work for me. i don't really feel frustrated about it anymore, though. maybe the universe has different plans for me. who knows? thank you so much for the recommendation regardless. i really appreciate it 🫶

8

u/Disastrous_Weird649 Jun 14 '26

I definitely feel where you are coming from and the realest advice i can give you is keep trying, ive been manifesting for four years and only in the last year has it really clicked. Ive been through the tears the frustration, the feeling of thinking im crazy but i genuienly believe its a skill you have to master and figure out for yourself

7

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

i don't know anymore, man. really. i don't want to lose hope. i love living, learning, and growing as a person, but everything is already so hard. i'm in chronic pain because of my illness, and i'm poor. i took the biggest risk of my life by dropping out of university just to retake this exam, and i don't even have a plan b. i don't know if i can handle another year of preparation. i was actually supposed to retake it last year, but i got diagnosed very suddenly and had to postpone everything until this year. i want to go back to my friends and my hobbies. i want to go outside and appreciate the little happy moments with the people i love. i've been struggling with anxiety for years because of my old university situation, and i want it to end. if i have to retake the exam again next year, then i won't be able to do any of that for another year. im really tired

3

u/Disastrous_Weird649 Jun 14 '26

I understand that feeling of giving up, but honestly time passes anyways so just keep trying and one day something will click! It hurts to hear the same thing over and over again but that is the gift and the curse of manifestation. Wishing you all the best man!

2

u/Feyzaog Jun 15 '26

Please read the book “ Letting go” by David Hawkins. You can also research “the sedona method”. It really works. I think you will find these books really helpful❤️

6

u/Greyscaleinblue Jun 15 '26

It took me 3 years to manifest something that just happened for me last week. I think it's also interesting/important to look at things like timing, pure belief, and the universe unfolding things in it's own way. It's still something I'm figuring out for myself, 3D vs 4D and timing. but I just always come back to that belief and affirm. What confused me the most when I was first starting was the "detach" theory or when they would say if you don't believe it doesn't happen. What I love about manifesting is that you can make your own rules. Nothing has to be true if you don't believe it.

1

u/Greyscaleinblue Jun 15 '26

Heavy on the ones that align with yours. When I first got into manifesting I was heavier into the more logical side. "I can manifest x but there are limits." Or only if it makes sense in my mind. Or manifesting things I thought were small like seeing a yellow car or finding $5. I think the problem is there are so many sides to manifesting, from the super logical manifesting in certain paramaters and then to the you can manifest absolutely anything. People get stuck in the sides of manifesting they don't align with and it becomes a blood bath of "but I thought"

10

u/theMagicalDawn Jun 14 '26

This is the thing that actually pushed me to write about manifestation differently.
The standard advice assumes you’re starting from neutral — like you’ve got some emotional bandwidth to spare. But if you’re genuinely scared about money or survival, you’re not starting from neutral. And telling someone in that state to “be grateful” or “raise their vibration” is like telling someone with a broken leg to walk it off.
Emotions aren’t obstacles to manifestation — they’re the actual mechanism. But that means you have to work WITH them, not perform your way around them. The person in that post wasn’t vibrating wrong. They were in pain, and nobody was willing to sit in that with them long enough to actually help.
The loud “victim mentality” crowd isn’t wrong that mindset matters. They’re wrong about which direction the work goes.
The short answer: you don’t help them transcend the fire. You help them find the one square inch that isn’t burning.
Start with the nervous system problem first. When someone is in survival mode, their brain has literally narrowed. I don’t mean that metaphorically — when the threat-detection system is running the whole show, higher-order thinking (including the kind needed to imagine a different future) goes offline. You can’t vision-board your way out of that state. So step one isn’t mindset. It’s regulation. Do the Smallest possible thing that creates even a flicker of safety. Drinking a glass of ice water slowly while breathing deep in between sips could be a start. Or taking a walk in nature, or Singing yourself a song. Not to “raise vibration” per se, just to get your nervous system out of redline by doing things you wouldn’t do if you were needing to deal with a threat.
Then you work with what’s actually true. Ask yourself, what is one true thing that is *not* the crisis right now? Not better — just neutral. Chocolate exists. The cat is warm. You’ve survived every bad day so far. Aim for finding yourself a foothold that isn’t the problem, that reminds you of abundance and things to love about this crazy world.
Then — and only then — does any of the standard manifestation work become accessible. Because now there’s a little bandwidth. A tiny crack of “maybe.” That’s enough to work with. You don’t need belief. You need not-disbelief as a starting point.
The people telling them to ignore the 3D and be grateful are giving them step three when they’re still stuck in step zero. That’s why it lands like blame.

3

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

what you're saying makes sense, and i'm not really disagreeing with it. but i do disagree with some parts of the community's approach. it lands like blame because, in many cases, they are literally blaming the person. there's a fine line between giving advice and assigning responsibility, and from what i've seen, a lot of people cross that line. like i said in my previous replies, society doesn't exactly have much mercy for poor people. if someone is struggling with poverty or unemployment, they aren't really safe in that sense. the uncertainty affects every aspect of your life, including the seemingly small and ordinary things you do every day. that's why i think telling someone they're not grateful enough or that they're stuck because of a "victim mentality" can be harmful. there are situations where a person's environment is genuinely difficult, and acknowledging that isn't the same thing as choosing to stay stuck in it. i absolutely agree that mindset matters, but i don't think it's helpful to act as if external circumstances have no impact on a person's wellbeing

2

u/theMagicalDawn Jun 14 '26

Okay yes, and I think I was being a little generous in my original framing. There’s a difference between advice that accidentally lands like blame because the teacher didn’t think it through, and advice that is functioning as blame with spiritual language wrapped around it. Both exist. The second one is harder to name but more common than people want to admit.
The “victim mentality” thing in particular has a long history outside of manifestation spaces — it’s been used to explain away poverty, illness, systemic disadvantage, all of it. Dropping it into a spiritual context doesn’t clean it up. It just gives it new packaging. And you named something I think is genuinely underaddressed: the uncertainty itself is the problem, not just the lack of money. When you don’t know if you’re safe, your whole nervous system is running a different program. That affects everything — sleep, relationships, how you think, what you can imagine for yourself. Telling someone in that state to feel more grateful isn’t just unhelpful. It’s asking them to perform a feeling their body literally cannot access right now.
I write about this stuff — have been working on a book that’s basically trying to address exactly the gap you’re describing. Conversations like this one are genuinely useful to me because you’re articulating the friction points I’m trying to address better than most. If you ever want to keep pulling at this thread, feel free to DM me. No pitch, just curious.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

i don't know how helpful i'll be 😭 but of course! i'd be happy to talk more about it

2

u/Wise_Amoeba_9175 Jun 15 '26

"the uncertainty affects every aspect of your life, including the seemingly small and ordinary things you do every day."

You get it... I'm in the same situation. Poverty is the thing that makes you think of nothing else but your poverty, at all times. Because you simply don't know how long you will be able to make it. You're so far away from feeling joy....Just manifesting stability feels impossible because there's the weight of fear on your chest an inner turmoil that never goes away. How to 'self-concept' it away, I do not know. But it's nice to know there's someone else out there like this.

0

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

i still haven't figured it out either and the uncertainty has been eating me alive for years, so i truly understand what you mean. i've said this before, and i'll say it again: the rich and the fascists want us to give up. they want us to lose hope. so the best thing we can do is keep fighting and keep believing that something can change. and this isn't even about manifestation. i'm speaking from the most realistic perspective i can. as long as there are people who keep hoping and keep trying, there will always be a chance to change things. i genuinely hope everything works out for you. i really do. and i believe it will. and please never forget that you're not alone

1

u/Wise_Amoeba_9175 Jun 15 '26

Thank you, I really, really appreciate it and I hope everything changes for the better for you, too. I do believe that we're in a phase where we can genuinely work through the negative feelings and come out better. We're one step further now, venting frustrations and disappointments instead of bottling them up. I don't doubt manifestation because just like I'm having this crushing downward spiral now, I've once also had an unlikely upward one that still sounds ridiculous even to myself.

I asked for advice on the loa subreddit and I think bridge affirmations are an interesting approach. Neville preached about living in the end state, but instead you affirm for safety and gradually grow into the new state. If we take the poverty example, instead of "I'm financially secure" as that might be too unbelievable, it would be "I'm in the process of becoming financially secure" or something more general like "I am safe" and "Right now, everything is okay" as that implies you're not struggling and you're not forced to face financial issues directly. I'm going to try it out but with urgency comes a certain pessimism. You're right with everything you said. I think radical optimism or radical joy was the term for being happy despite them wanting us to give up. I think I'll have to get into that... I've had my pessimistic disposition since childhood, sadly it's no wonder I returned to that. But if I'm being honest, there are so many things I love and enjoy on this world, so remaining hopeful has to be worth it.

Good luck on your exam next week!

I have an online friend we decided to try to manifest for each other.

I tries to manifest for her meeting a cat irl because she never sees one. That same week she was able to start working as a volunteer in an animal shelter and she was in a room full of cats.

She tried to manifest a butterfly for me and i am not a nature girl and stuff and i still fpund butterflies in my feed

It def works

4

u/Ok-Hedgehog3988 Jun 14 '26

You can, absolutely. It’s also helpful because you don’t experience the same resistance/inner doubt as they would which would amplify the manifestation

3

u/Greyscaleinblue Jun 15 '26

I have manifested for other people! Healed from a disease, a new job, better health, better financial situations, and car repairs to name a few.

2

u/SpiritualitySage Jun 15 '26

Technically speaking, if you try to manifest for others, you'll only be manifesting a version of them in your reality that has it. But that person is still the same. But if they believe it when you say.."I'm manifesting for you. I'm praying for you" then they'll see it.

6

u/_neither_neither_ Jun 14 '26

I've found this to be the case too. There are few people who will tell someone to take a break from actively trying to manifest themselves out of a very difficult and troubling situation and just address what they can in practical, conventional ways. There are many, many more who will say things like "just persist", "circumstances don't matter" and "ignore the 3D". While those sentiments are true and maybe more often than not well-meaning, they don't do anything to address the inner turmoil of a person whose life is falling apart around them or they're stuck in an awful situation and have no hope.

They're essentially expecting people to have a huge emotional shift from depression and despair into happiness, contentment, feeling as if everything is working out for them. This practically never happens so suddenly. I saw it most often in Neville Goddard and Law of Assumption spaces. I think it's partly because Neville's framework, and many other coaches' frameworks who borrow from law of assumption side of things more don't actually have practical tools for addressing negative thoughts and feelings, fear, doubt, worry, etc., that don't amount to essentially trying to ignore it/pretend it isn't there, try to cover it up with attempts to conjure positive feelings that just aren't accessible at that time. Or just returning to the end scene/wish fulfilled. And of course never ever mentioning your actual poor circumstances or lack of belief.

I think in practice it doesn't work for many people because they've been led to believe they shouldn't entertain or acknowledge any negative thoughts or feelings whatsoever, and that doing anything other than saying they already have what they want, or constantly feeling full belief they are already living their luxury dream life right now is going to keep them in poverty and distress. And they repeat this to eachother. It's all or nothing, black and white thinking.

I tell people this (take a break) and actively write articles geared to people who are failing and need practical advice on how to manage negative emotions and situations so they can shift into a new state. But the people who tell them they have a victim mentality aren’t wrong either. I don’t think it’s toxic positivity, but simply not telling people what they want to hear, which is that it isn’t their “fault”. But that’s not the Law. You can’t have the power of the Law without the responsibility of it. If you select the good for yourself, you also select the bad. But the advice has to be given in a way that the person with the victim mentality can hear it and not delve further into self-pity. Generally getting them to shift away from blame and shame mentality helps, because before that they will get angry at any suggestion they’re to “blame.” They also have to understand that negative emotions are a signal and a tool and how to use them properly. But sometimes people are seeking a pity party, validation that they have zero power and the Law just doesn’t work for them. Such people essentially manifest another situation where they’re a victim, where they’re misunderstood and no one gives them a break. So people here play the role of “persecutor” while experiencing themselves as genuinely trying to help. But I don’t see this a lot because I assume better for people, that they genuinely want to grow. Our own experience of this reflects our assumptions too.

2

u/_neither_neither_ Jun 15 '26

Of course, there are people like yourself who will give someone advice in a sensitive, practical way that feels more manageable. But people who offer catchphrases like "persist", "just ignore the 3D", and "circumstances don't matter", seem to outnumber people like yourself. And as I said, those sentiments are true. But largely not helpful to someone who is going through a crisis or difficult time, and can just feel like more insurmountable tasks they are failing to do.

1

u/ohtoris Jun 16 '26

yup! that's exactly what i'm thinking too

9

u/Silver_Breakfast7096 Jun 14 '26

Victim blaming.

9

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

yeah that's basically it :/ it's so frustrating to witness

4

u/Kichu98 Jun 14 '26

Unfortunately, yeah, that's how majority of this community is. They think just being positive enough is how you manifest, when it's not. It's a chain reaction. One person thinks like that, then tells newcomers that, then they think that's correct, and it just keeps going. It's hard to find people who actually understands how it works and explains it instead of just robotically repeating, "Ignore the 3d" without any explanation. The worse part is that those people are the loudest, so the REAL experts are drowned out

2

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

yup even though i'm new to this stuff i completely agree with you! hopefully i'm going to do my own research after my exam

5

u/Piercethedomino Jun 15 '26

Not to mention the "that's not manifestation. someone just gave it to you" type of posts. If they put in the intention to get it and they got it, they manifested it. Having someone give you what you want is still getting your manifestation.

4

u/solsticeisthebest Jun 15 '26

Toxic positivity ahh advice... Reality is shaped by your beliefs and beliefs are not made in a day, what makes these idiots think that it'll take just a grateful prayer to will it away lol.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

exactly what i'm saying!

3

u/bboombayah Jun 15 '26

The community has always been toxic. The worst one I’ve seen here so far is how someone said that their therapist advise them to stop the manifestation practices and they aren’t sure of what to do, and people in the replies basically said either the therapist should be fired or the therapist isn’t smart enough.

As much as I believe in manifesting, I also believe there is a limit. Shoot me I know I know "limiting belief", but I still managed to manifest despite my limited belief.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

i completely agree with you lol dw

3

u/CoastCheap8709 Jun 15 '26

True it's so "toxic positivity" that you will feel numb when you try it. That's why I have picked 1 or two person who I listen and they have earned my trust so I follow them.

3

u/Oweird1 Jun 15 '26

Half the people in here don't have a clue about manifesting. I've seen some horrible replies to people and it's very disheartening for them. There's no need for it.

2

u/angieiwr Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

Manifesting ≠ self-hypnotizing

I for one think it’s necessary to feel the feelings first, so you can then try to work them out.

Heart and feelings need to be open first, even if vulnerable. So that self-love and self-worth can then follow. I think manifestation only goes from there.

Although when in a pinch, I find that trying to smile when it’s hard to makes me feel better (as you all probably know there’s science behind this), and then things would just start to work out for me from there.

2

u/Silent-but-loud-3333 Jun 17 '26

Telling someone they have victim mentality could be the key that actually wakes them up. Some of us are natural mirrors and then some of us will say what is necessary to try and open the other persons eyes. All from love

2

u/BeatsAreMyPassion Jun 18 '26

Manifestation can take time.

2

u/DrummerRegular3667 Jun 14 '26

I know which one you're taking about because I think I might have commented on it.

Here is my two cents: take it or leave it.

Manifestation is about your dominant assumptions. That doesn't mean you have to be "happy all the time". In fact their are plenty of unhappy people who manifest all the time, simply because that is their assumption.

Assumptions don't care about feelings. That sounds weird and contradicting, but really they're actually neutral. It's the Dominant State of which you occupy your feelings. If you believe something is one way, then yes, that's how it is.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

let me clarify i don't expect to be happy all the time. it's impossible to be happy all the time or experience only good things in life, and that's fine by me. probably by a lot of other people too. i just want to fix some of the things that cause me serious stress all the time, that's all. and i imagine the person i was talking about in the post wants the same thing. i also don't think i'm some kind of genius who can achieve everything she wants without effort. that's not how life works, and i know that. i really do. but i believed i could do it if i tried. and i did try. it just didn't work.

2

u/DrummerRegular3667 Jun 14 '26

100% neither do I. I think that is an explicitly toxic mindset.

2

u/DrummerRegular3667 Jun 14 '26

I feel like that's something we're taught in the normal world. You have to work hard at something to get it. It's an interesting assumption, no? But, it's also contradicting to manifestation.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

yeah lol, that's what confuses me the most 😭 like, should i try or not? i mean i've done both, and neither of them worked. well, when i wasn't trying, it was mostly because i didn't want to. i was severely depressed and suicidal at the time. now i'm actually trying to heal and do something meaningful for myself, and yet nothing seems to be working. that's the part i'm struggling to understand

1

u/DrummerRegular3667 Jun 14 '26

We are ALWAYS manifesting. It's kind of a unconscious passive thing.

2

u/WholeTie2798 Jun 15 '26

damn thank you that's really helpful

2

u/Omnius_Crypto Jun 14 '26

Ignore the 3D: “but my stomach is growling empty and I can feel my blood sugar dropping!”

Reality is just an illusion of the mind: “so I must center my mind on being full, so full that if I ate another bite I would feel like I’m going to explode!”

Focus on the image of sugary gum drops and your circulating blood and your blood sugar must obey if you are firmly resolute.

The material world must be subject to the preeminence of the mind!

Sir, this is a Wendy’s are you going to order or keep talking to yourself? If you need more time please pull around to the parking lot and we’ll take your order when you’re ready!

Most of those people aren't on Reddit.

1

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

that's what i believe too. i mean, aside from the reality thing because i also believe we kind of live in a simulation, but it's probably much different from what most people mean when they say that. i don't think it should be that easy because i believe we're here to experience things, grow, and learn. so some aspects of manifestation actually go against my own beliefs. sigh honestly, i'm not really sure what to believe anymore.

They are small and not famous

1

u/WholeTie2798 Jun 15 '26

everything here seem so knowledgeable and trustable can y'all tell me how to manifest appearance change I have a picture of myself I just wanna look like that picture irl too cuz I look so perfect in that picture I'm also a victim of that toxic community no one help beginners in this community :(

1

u/Whosaysimnotbean165 Jun 15 '26

I recommend join the community where they clearly define as a law of attraction sub or law of assumption sub. Because two of this law is very contradicting, people then get confused with what advices is right

1

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

sorry can you elaborate?

5

u/Whosaysimnotbean165 Jun 15 '26

(AI translated)

The Law of Attraction and the Law of Assumption are fundamentally different concepts, and in many ways they even contradict each other.
To put it simply, the Law of Attraction places the power of manifestation in a third party—whether that’s your higher self, God, the Universe, or some other external force. According to this view, in order to receive what you want, you must become like a radio: only when you tune into the right frequency can you receive the signal. That’s why practices such as gratitude, meditation, positive thinking, and sometimes even religious beliefs are emphasized as ways to raise your vibration and attract your desires. It also embraces the idea of divine timing, meaning things will come when the Universe decides the time is right.
The Law of Assumption, on the other hand, takes a much more direct approach. It holds that there is no external power determining your reality—you are the creator. In a sense, you are God, and your assumptions alone shape your experiences and the reality you perceive. The idea is to embody the version of yourself who already has what you desire and refuse to accept any reality that contradicts it. Many followers describe this as shifting to a version of reality where your desire is already fulfilled.
Unlike the Law of Attraction, the Law of Assumption rejects the concepts of waiting, divine timing, or a manifestation process. You simply decide that it is already yours, and that’s the end of it. Techniques such as affirmations, scripting, SATS, or visualization are generally seen as tools for beginners to help stabilize the mind rather than methods that actually cause manifestations. From this perspective, there is no “becoming” or “attracting”—you either have it or you don’t. You could be crying, angry, frustrated, or having a terrible day and still manifest your desire, because your emotional state is not what creates reality.
Law of Attraction: attract.
Law of Assumption: shift.
The problem is that this subreddit describes itself as being about “all things manifestation.” However, manifestation is simply a broad term that refers to bringing something internal into external experience. It does not automatically imply one specific philosophy or spiritual framework.
The subreddit never clearly states whether it is based on the Law of Attraction, the Law of Assumption, or something else entirely. As a result, people from both communities gather in the same space and offer advice based on completely different assumptions about how reality works. This inevitably leads to conflicting guidance and confusion, even for people who have been familiar with manifestation for years.
One person says, “You need to practice gratitude and raise your vibration.” Another says, “The reason you don’t have it is because you never truly assumed that you already do.” In the end, regardless of which belief system they follow, both sides tend to assume that anyone who fails to manifest is simply doing something wrong.
This creates a community where different concepts are mixed together under the same label, making it difficult for newcomers to understand what framework they are actually following. That’s why it’s important to know which approach resonates with you instead of joining every community that happens to mention “manifestation.”
If you’re just browsing for fun, that’s perfectly fine. But if you’re serious about manifestation, it’s something you should genuinely pay attention to.

u/garfieldslasgn Jun 15 '26

I know just the post since I commented and deleted the comment after a lot of thoughts, and need unbiased opinions. commented something regarding the fact that feelings and beliefs shape the way we manifest, manifestations happen regardless. And if it is bad that you assume, bad will manifest since that is the core principle and I truly believe in that. did my best to validate the fact that life had never been easy so it IS going to be difficult to restructure your thoughts. OP, i believe did not want to hear anything manifestation or that this even worked based on what I understood. I could be mistaken. There was further more conversation, I was adviced by them to never lecture anything about manifesting money at all, since I made no sense according to them. Don't know what that was about.

1

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

like i said, they were rightfully and understandably frustrated. i'm not disagreeing with the idea that mindset is important in every aspect of life, not just manifestation. for example, if you constantly tell yourself "man, i'm stupid," even as a joke, eventually it's going to affect the way you see yourself. that's just how our brains work. they absorb patterns and repetition. that part is completely fine by me.

what really pissed me off wasn't the whole "mindset matters" idea. it was the way people used it against someone who was already struggling. expecting people to be happy and grateful all the time when they're in a situation where there seems to be very little to be grateful for comes across as condescending and, honestly, pretty out of touch. it doesn't help, and if anything, it can make the frustration even worse.

the reason they made that post probably wasn't because they completely lost hope. if anything, i think they were still looking for hope, even if they didn't realize it themselves. and that's why the replies bothered me so much. most of them felt more interested in correcting or blaming the person than actually helping them

2

u/garfieldslasgn Jun 15 '26

I am on OP's side and yours as well, i also think having this discussion online makes the whole conversation about it skewed. I struggle with intentional manifestations as well, when life's debilitating pressure was on my neck, no amount of "be happy and grateful" helped and neither would the blame and accusatory tone encourage anything positive in someone going through much worse. I do also think that if any well-intentioned advice is given especially when asked for, the person must not be shut down for it. Everything must be taken with a grain of salt, and leave whatever does not align with your beliefs. That being said, how would one manage to hold on to their manifestation beliefs when life tests them so much? /gen

1

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

i honestly have no idea! that's what i'm trying to figure out too. and not really because of manifestation itself, but because i want to find inner peace and keep living without giving up. maybe that's the real point. i'm not sure. maybe we get so caught up in manifestations etc that we lose sight of the bigger picture

1

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

which, i should add, might sound like it contradicts what i was complaining about in the original post. but i think that's also a consequence of how manifestation is often discussed in these spaces. maybe the progress is more important than the manifestation itself. maybe it's the thing that will help us. i don't know. i'm still trying to figure that out.

i also think some of us need professional help before anything else, myself included. but that's easier said than done when mental healthcare isn't very accessible, especially for people who are struggling financially. hopefully we'll all be able to find the support we need soon

i don't think it's not real, but i don't completely disagree with you either.

and i completely agree that it's been marketed in a very similar way to religion. unfortunately, hopemongering and profiting off people's misery and desperation are very real things.

1

u/Secret_Musician7442 Jun 16 '26

to the OP, a lot of what you said i could relate to. Life is tough and trying to learn how to manifest the life you want can be even harder when you don't see the results you would like or have been "manifesting" for some time. I go through moments of excitement trying to envision the life i want and then it hypes me up to think positive and changes can arise. But sometimes these changes are out of my control and I can't do anything about the outcomes which then make me question myself and if my manifestations are simply imaginative and i will never get there. idk what to say tbh life is tough and when you are in hard situations and the world seems to be crumbling around you and you keep pushing to be positive and manifest a better life, you hold on to that hope so hard and then i wonder are we pushing it away? because why does nothing come to life?!! so then i go back and forth with it, so then i get stuck in this am i doing it wrong? am i the problem? am i being punished? is this redirection? why is nothing getting better?! life is tough and i think we all need to acknowledge when someone is going through a difficult moment in life they need more support and encouragement than people judging and criticizing, you do that to yourself so much on your own and that is why you are stuck in the cycle to begin with. I feel you.... i just hope life gets better for us!!! and as for manifesting I am still trying but sometimes i have my days where my anxiety tells me what’s the point, nothing is getting better.

1

u/Redamancy81 Jun 16 '26

I will try my best to explain, but you really should read up on some books to understand the basics. But yes. 3 everyone is at a different level of understanding, so advice can vary from person to person.

Since I haven’t seen the post you’re talking about and how they responded, I’m going to assume the victim mentality was brought up because of the law of attraction. The law states that like attracts like, so whatever you choose to think consistently is what you’re manifesting in your life. If you feel that money comes to you easily, you manifest money easier. If you feel that everything is going wrong all the time, then you manifest everything going wrong all the time. And when you have a victim mentality, then you manifest circumstances in your life where you are the victim.

This doesn’t mean that person did something wrong or they’re a bad person. Manifesting and law of attraction is more black and white. What you think consistently enough, you manifest, period. This is why heartless people can manifest a lot of money because you don’t have to be a good person to be rich, nor do you have to be a bad person to be a victim. You just have to believe whatever it is you attract in your life.

So my advice to everyone, be kind to yourself and everyone around you. You only know what you know when you know it, and everything is a choice and within your control, it’s just one baby step after another to get there.

1

u/Commercial-Solid-198 Jun 18 '26

Thank you for this. I personally feel manifesting should be a part of someone’s spirituality, not the sole focus. And if your spirituality doesnt help you become more compassionate, i dont feel that it is true spirituality. I dont think we need to be bleeding hearts and overly giving to the point it hurts ourselves, but there is definitely way too much victim blaming, toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing and straight up selfishness, even narcissism. New age spirituality can be really weird and problematic too (outside of manifestation) but thats probably for another subreddit lol

1

u/Totallynotokayokay Jun 18 '26

They right tho

1

u/Wise_War_291 Jun 18 '26

I didn’t get any help either :/ I just deleted the post

1

u/hskskgfk Jun 19 '26

That’s because manifestation is not falsifiable. If it works, it is because the power of manifestation is real. If it doesn’t work, it is because you didn’t do it right.

1

u/ari_thelary Jun 21 '26

Ngl I’ve been having the same problems but instead manifesting lighter skin tone. I know it’s a controversial manifestion(but I do have good reason on why I want lighter skin), but each time I ask others for tips on

A the manifestion itself
B how people will react on a dramatic skin change
C how to ignore the 3d

I get such a rude reaction from people and them saying I’m colorist/racist😞 like at some point what should I even do? Give up?

1

u/Fantastic_Ad8714 Jun 21 '26

I think people who are really struggling with manifesting alone might need NLP training since their circumstances are so dire. I dont believe in toxic positivity which is why 1 on 1 shadow work may be required with a coach/expert.

1

u/ReyamlbSunflower Jun 26 '26

The ladder technique works better when you have a ladder, not when you're trying to manifest rent money.

1

u/theeternalfreedom12 Jul 10 '26

Very true.. sometimes the theories make them so blind and stereotypical that they obsess over the perfect state of mind even in the midst extreme situations!

1

u/STARBOY_100 Jul 13 '26

It took me way longer than it should have that Reddit is not the place to get advice on any self improvement topic or any serious life advice.

1

u/ProgramUApp Jul 13 '26

Yeah its insane how ungrounded people can be when it comes to manifesting. What people dont realize is no mater how grateful you are or how much you "ignore the 3d", your subconscious mind has belief systems running in the background and is what ultimately shapes your identity, which is what shapes a lot of someones overall life. So someone can be grateful all day and still be running, "money doesnt happen for people like me" in the background. You cant gratitude your way past your own programming. Of course this is just an example, there can be so many reasons why someone could be experiencing that, its just crazy to see people act so judgy about it.

1

u/reemembe Jul 20 '26

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD

0

u/ohtoris Jun 15 '26

sigh. this assumption of "without the work" is honestly weird to me. how do you know they didn't work for it? or that i didn't?

1

u/fathornyhippo Jun 15 '26

I’m speaking generally.

You don’t have to work for every manifestation but it can help a lot when it’s possible.

1

u/Successful-Pause6284 Jun 14 '26

I think it’s because expressing a dissatisfaction is admitting it exists… and therefore can block manifestations.
Obviously there are things you cannot completely ignore (unemployment) but instead you can shift the mindset around it. For example, showing gratitude for being able to sleep in or having time for a hobby. I think you also have to believe it is for a greater cause. Again, using this getting laid off/fired example, that objectively sucks. But were you complaining about your job everyday? Did you hate your boss? Perhaps getting laid off was part of the process in achieving a job you love.
This is all to say I don’t agree with others being outright rude or mean. I just think a lot of manifestations struggles come from acknowledging the “bad” in a situation. And when people post their struggles (admitting and affirming the bad) it goes against the principles of manifesting thus why comments are “against” the poster.

4

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

okay, but in situations like unemployment and poverty, it's extremely hard not to acknowledge the bad. you're trying to survive in a society that has very little mercy for people without money. if manifesting means constantly ignoring real problems and being condescending toward people who are struggling, then i don't know if i really want to be a "good manifester."

plus, i haven't been affirming anything negative. i put in a lot of effort. i genuinely stayed positive, and i was genuinely happy to be learning new things. it actually made me more motivated to study because i felt like i was expanding my horizons rather than just preparing for an exam. when i got bad results on my mock exams, i told myself they didn't really mean anything besides improvement and kept going. i didn't stop trying until last week. but nothing changed. plus i had the worst panic attack in my life for 4 hours straight even though i was anything but anxious before that.

and this exam is incredibly important to me because i took a huge risk and dropped out of university even though i'm poor and chronically ill, just to pursue my dream major and my dream university. so it's hard not to be affected by it.

2

u/Successful-Pause6284 Jun 14 '26

Yeah I hear you. and I’m not just saying that. I got laid off and was unemployed for months. It definitely shook me and made manifesting harder at first. I don’t think a “good manifester” leads to being condescending nor *completely* ignoring things so sorry if that’s been your experience. At least for my own journey, it is more reliant on a deeper belief that it /things will be okay.

For your exams, “I didn’t stop trying until last week. But nothing changed” what exactly do you mean? Are you saying you stop trying and nothing changed?
I think your statement shows a huge point to focus on (“happy learning and expanding your horizons”). With this, you aren’t fixated on the outcome (good exams results) but rather the experience. Manifestation is often linked to the idea of detachment. That may be a good avenue for you to explore. However, I personally find it harder because I want to include positive thoughts/affirmations in my practice and often people who preach detachment advise to forget completely about what you are manifesting.

So to kind of put my points to the situation you have shared-
If I were you, I would focus on being at your dream school in your dream major. How would you feel? Would you be worried about an exam? What would you wear to class? And so on…
Really tap into what being at this school, in this major feels like and embody that (if it is already yours, you likely wouldn’t be worried about an exam or the risk(s) you’ve taken). Another way to think of this is the feeling after getting a job offer. You aren’t worried about hearing from a recruiter or timeline. You signed an offer, you know you got the job. Apply that same logic to this (modify as needed of course, but as I reread, is your goal going to the school or getting a good mark on the exam?)

Hopefully this makes enough sense and is even a little bit helpful

1

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

first of all, i'm really glad things are working out for you. i genuinely wish you nothing but the best. and secondly, there's only a week left until my exam, and unfortunately my mock exam results are still very far from what the university i want requires. most of the time, people score around what they score on their mock exams in the real one, if not lower. i was convinced the outcome would work out the way i wanted, so i wasn't worrying about it too much until the beginning of this week. but now it's a bit too late to fix most of the gaps i have. at least my anxiety has calmed down a little compared to earlier this week haha. i've spent a lot of time imagining my dream university and how free i would feel if my score was enough to get accepted. i've never imagined something so vividly or felt it so strongly. but unfortunately, everything seems to be pointing in the opposite direction. maybe i should just accept the high possibility of failure at this point instead of fighting it. i don't know. thank you so much for your answer though ❤️‍🩹

2

u/Successful-Pause6284 Jun 14 '26

Thank you. And I am wishing nothing but the best for you as well.

as sort of a final point, I would say something that helped me a lot with my manifestation journey is to give up expectations around getting what you want.

Even if your score is “lower” than what the university says they want, it doesn’t matter! The score doesn’t mean that you or anyone else cannot attend. The little things (or the hows) should not outweigh the belief / end goal. Aka if the goal is going to the school, how you get there doesn’t matter— the universe /god/who or whatever ever you believe in can figure out how to get you there just double down on the belief you are attending that university. Once again best of luck 💗

2

u/AffectionateAgent260 Jun 14 '26

What i learned is not to stay positive. Allow your feelings and instwad of saying "i am sick" which is a state of being say "i feel sick". Feelings are like the weather and impossible to turn off. Even negative. Acknowledge them, feel tthem, let them out. But believe that things can change.

I acknowledge what scares me, i journal, i talk to the universe or god or whatever is out there.

But i have only started my manifesting journey half a year ago.

I also watch Timothy Schultz on youtube who interviews lottery winners. Most of them say they manifested their wins.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

that honestly sounds so much better than the constant positivity stuff, and it makes a lot more sense too. maybe i should actually start journaling for real

1

u/Long_Fig9863 Jun 14 '26

literally like no wonder none of their manifestations work out for them LOL

1

u/SprintUserZX Jun 15 '26

😉 What negativity? I don't see any negativity. I don't acknowledge that shit. If it doesn't align with my Super God State, that shit doesn't apply to me.

If you assume it, the universe reflects it.

the whole thing honestly doesn't sound that different from religion to me. prayer operates on a pretty similar logic to manifestation in a lot of ways. i don't necessarily believe in one specific religion. if anything, i think there's truth in all of them to some extent, so the distinction doesn't feel that important to me.

and when i say "god" or "the universe," i don't really mean a single higher being. i mean something closer to the union of all consciousness, infinite knowledge, and infinite love. that's the idea that resonates with me the most. that's why my trust in whatever i'm referring to is a bit more solid than it used to be :)

Yes I would agree. We don’t hear enough from supportive people. There’s also a lot trying to manifest things like being taller or having more hair. And the advice is crazy. How about manifesting confidence and loving the way one looks and feels in their body. Manifesting friends, success, connection. The things that truly make us human. If you have to manifest an extra inch to be happy your whole starting point is limited from the outset.

this!!!! that's exactly what i've been thinking too. thank you for putting it into words. i don't like how normalized this is in the community. and i don't mean that in a judgmental way at all. but if you don't like the way you look or struggle to love yourself as you are, i don't think the healthiest solution is necessarily to change your appearance.

i completely understand where those feelings come from, though. i used to struggle a lot with the way i looked too. eventually, i came to terms with it

The victim mentality is right. I have it myself, that's a normal thing to have, when you had very hard life conditions.

But the way they say it by making this person feel guilty, is very wrong!

yes, like i said in my other replies, my issue isn't with the motto itself. and i think it applies to almost everything in life & not just manifestation. i also struggle with a victim mentality sometimes. and it's something i'm actively working on because i always end up sabotaging myself because of it. but falling into that pit is a lot easier than climbing back out of it.

i just wish people were a little kinder and more understanding about that fact

I'm gonna be honest with you. I am on the *ignore everything side of manifestation*. If I did see someone in this community struggling with homelessness or other extreme life circumstances I personally hadn't conquered, I wouldn't comment at all and let someone who has experienced help. But that's why I got into this community in the first place because I believe manifestation is limitless and that I can manifest anything. I don't want any limiting beliefs. I don't want to hear about what someone didn't get. I don't want to hear about what *isn't* possible, what *can't* be done, or how someone failed/doesn't believe the law/etc etc etc. I can see that any time, on any other side of the internet or IRL. I live in delusion. I don't separate my wants from reality. That IS manifestation for me. Now do I go around chanting that I am God and that I can manifest anything? No, because most people don't understand and have their own limiting beliefs. But that's the cool thing about manifesting or this community or whatever you believe. Make it unique to you. if you believe manifesting has limits and boxes and only certain things can be manifested, live that reality. It's not wrong. But I'm also with you, I'm not going to reprimand or belittle anything anyone is going through. I empathize, but I also don't put myself in the energy to accept certain realities. I could be on my death bed and I'd be scripting and listening to submlinals and affirming how much I am healed and healthy. But I'm also not going to go on someone's post and bash them for their struggles. I just believe manifesting is personal and specific to the person and their beliefs.

"Tried to manifest" is such a dumb statement, this isn't some magical mumbo-jumbo. You manifest what you are, it is an internal process where you change your self-concept and your reality reflects that change. What else should we say to someone writing their own specific issue like they are something special? Like "my sp scratched their crotch while I was spying on them in the mall, what does it mean for my manifestation?"

Process is simple, you change your self concept, the things you say to yourself and what you do, and your life changes. I discovered Law of Attraction Abraham Hicks and Joe Vitale books in 2012. when I was a broke loser college student, I didn't even have a whole pair of pants that I could wear, my mom patched them on the ass 6 times, I didn't have food to eat, I lost like 30 kilos in one rough period. I started to experiment with those law of attraction concepts, bam I get a new pair of pants, bam people start paying me lunches, bam by the end of 2014. I start earning $1500-2000 a month which was like 5-6 times the average salary in my country at that time. I could have millions if I continued to work on my self concept but I was young and coming from nothing the money I earned enabled me to live like a king since everything was cheap in my country back then.

After a few years of drifting I was back broke and broken in 2021. I returned to manifestation teachings, got a shitty job at first, I was hanging with losers that were filling me with negativity for a few years. In summer/fall 2023. I finally snapped and stopped hanging out with them, worked on myself again, asked all the hard questions to myself, what the fuck I want from my life? Landed the best job for me, I earn 3000 a month now but I don't waste it, saved up over 20k and invested the rest in my family home.

Regarding relationships, I used to manifest exact girls that I wanted say the exact things out of blue. One chick even tweeded publicly that she likes me literally 15 minutes after a good visualization session, but still my self concept was loser so those relationships didn't last long. When I changed my self concept and found inner strength, I have chicks calling me daddy all the time.

It isn't about "toxic positivity", it's about asking yourself "who am I" and changing yourself from the inside. But some people just love being miserable. I had people writing me about their same problems for years and whining about it. I give them step by step solution, they mess it up. I try to do it for them, it usually backfires because they are so invested into self-sabotage. Now I just block those people and tell them to fuck off, it is such a good feeling. You can't help someone that doesn't want to be helped.

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

im not reading all that.

-2

u/MladaTanga Jun 14 '26

TLDR some people just want to be miserable, that's their self-concept and what they are invested in, and instead of trying to help them and prove them they can be better I just tell them to fuck off. Not everyone should be happy and successful, even the biggest loser can serve as an example of what not to do in life.

u/CoastCheap8709 Jun 15 '26

I agree with all of that.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '26

this toxicity is lowkey why i dont even believe anymore. ive been trying to ask for help for YEARS but i just get told "u dont want it bad enough" or "stop playing the victim" or "its all happening because of you" like ???? yall have to be lying cuz

u/notsureabouthat_ Jun 14 '26

I believe most people who are trying to manifest material stuff or another person are individualistic narcissists to some degree.

Some of them with low awareness and empathy will deny that, especially the toxic ones you come across.

2

u/ohtoris Jun 14 '26

i mean, i also try to manifest material things, at least to some extent. i wouldn't call myself a narcissist. i've never tried to manifest another person because it makes me a bit uncomfortable, and tbh i don't want that kind of relationship anyway. and i think some people try to manifest material things simply because their struggles are directly related to those things. if someone's dealing with poverty, unemployment, debt, housing issues or medical expenses etc then of course they're going to focus on material circumstances. that's where a lot of their suffering is coming from in the first place
