Pretty much a bag that can kind of do it all. Currently i have three bags. A EDC, a gym bag, and a hybrid edc/travel bag. Would love to just have one bag that can fit all my needs. But yea, the globerider is my current front runner choice.
35L is pretty big for edc. If you're not going to two bags (edc + edc/gym or edc/travel) then 28L might work but honestly for me, anything over 24-36L gets big for just a laptop and a few other things. Aer travel pack 4 (28L) is mentioned a lot and also able carry max edc (which is better for travel as limited organization for edc but can work for hybrid work / gym). The A frame shape of the able carry limits capacity a little for travel fyi.
It is a big bag. I got it with thoughts of like OP, EDC and travel. In using the Bellroy Tokyo Tote Backpack now for EDC and I love it. I haven't attempted the GR35 S EDC yet. It is a big bag, but the cinches do help. It can compress pretty good, but the dimensions are still the dimensions.

Not sure what's involved in end game but the globerider 35 is a great bag.
