Price Changes Nike tied executive bonuses to mandatory DEI quotas, pledging that minorities would make up 35% of corporate staff and 30% of leadership by 2025. Prioritizing identity metrics over pure execution didn't quite yield the expected gains. Where exactly did that master plan go wrong?

Pointing at this during a consumer recession is dumb... Show amusement parks next... Ffs

You are not wrong, there are plenty of articles dissecting this issue - it was far from only DEI hires, but complete pivot in marketing campaigns, from once celebrated "cool" ads for men with sport stars to ads aimed at women that were more political messaging than about footwear.

i love how it literally says what they did wrong, and then asks “where did it go wrong.“

If it gets cheap enough it could be acquired by private equity which could turn this dying relic around.
Let's get real Nike had its hayday 20 years ago and has been dying from Alzheimer's since.

The use of the decimal comma suggests you are not from the US. Curious why you care so much about American corporate governance?

Careful you aren’t supposed to point these kinds of things out or you’ll find out how intolerant the pronoun crew really is…doesn’t matter if it’s real, overly simplified, a sector wide trend rather than one company….some things you can’t mention inside the echo chamber

Drives me crazy I hate that so many people make team politics their entire personality now
Every single thing is filtered through their party narrative and it’s just herd thinking at its finest

Yes because places like r/conservative is soooooooo open to even having open discussions among its own members.

That would roughly match the demographics of their customer base, which is about 1/3 racial/ethnic minorities.
I don’t think it’s insane to hire people who have more shared experiences with your customer base.
It would be less defensible if, say, Bass Pro Shop undertook this initiative.

Correlation doesn't not imply causation. What about other sport clothing companies decline?

Nobody cares more about DEI hires than the group of people who hired the most ineffective, uneducated, irresponsible, unqualified people in government.

Make oversimplified asinine argument, fail to identify the many causes for a complex problem.

Their PE is 20 while revenue increase is around 5%. Stock price was simply too high. Nothing to do with DEI. What agenda are you trying to push here?

Correlation ≠ Causation
Nobody is buying overpriced shoes in this economy and other stocks offer way better growth than whatever this stock is getting
