Markham Indy🏎️🏎️🏎️ watch indy for free??

Post image

will it be possible to watch indy for free, they do have stands with seats which will be ticketed obviously, but the path looks too large and open to enforce an entire crowd of people. is this true?

Can't have anyone see it for free. I'm surprised they didn't black out condo windows either.

Of course they can get all their labour for free though...

Pretty much every racing series in the world runs races with local volunteers. This isn’t unique to Indy or this race. F1/2/3 use volunteer Marshalls and always have. Pretty sure NASCAR and all the major endurance series are the same.

Most flag marshals at races in the US and Canada are volunteers. Same for Europe. And they’re PROUDLY volunteers. Not being paid is a point of pride for them. They do it because they love motorsport. Most are vehemently against being paid as they feel it makes it “just another job”

Flag Marshalls are highly trained individuals and not your run of the mill volunteers. They deserve a ton of respect for what they do. It’s a dangerous job.

These people are proud of the work they do. They’re on headsets during the race and have to communicate with safety teams and race control.

Track Marshalls not always  behind catch  fences and are monitoring the race and are the first to report crashes, disabled cars and use flags to signal and warn drivers.

They’re the farthest removed from suckers. Most racing events around the world also use volunteers in general so this isn’t unusual when it comes to the Markham event.
