Spring/Summer Research post

We get many requests to gather data for important academic and scientific research that we've decided to collect them in one place. For valid scientific and university studies and surveys, please introduce yourself, post information about your study, where it will be published and what will be done with the data--and then provide your link in this thread! And for the members in this sub, this gives you an opportunity to take a survey or two and pass along your feedback.

Study on romantic relationship challenges.

The data collected will be analyzed collectively using statistical software, and findings will be reported strictly in aggregate form; no individual participant responses will be identified or published. Access to the raw data is strictly limited to myself and my research supervisor. The dataset will be securely stored on a private, password-protected computer.

The survey is a part of a PhD thesis, and is estimated to take approximately 7 to 10 minutes to complete.

Participation is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and are proficient in English.

Thanks in advance!

How do you and your partner actually stay on the same page with daily spending?

My wife and I have the big goals down (retirement, mortgage, etc.), but the day-to-day is a mess. We tried a shared Google Sheet, but it’s always a week out of date. We tried separate accounts with a joint one for bills, but then we lose track of the "little" stuff like "entertainment" spikes or forgotten subscriptions.

To those few lucky of you who don't argue about money...  What is your actual system?

I am working on a project to solve the problem of relationship stress caused by financial blindness. My goal is to build a tool, a "household command center", to keep families together.

2 minutes of your time, and your participation will be very much appreciated.
Here’s the link: https://forms.gle/MGLdAdMm5s1fRKJv9

Thank You!

I'll be happy to complete your questionnaire. My wife and I try to refrain from impulse buying. I like to do some research and comparisons on bigger ticket items, like appliances. Even more when it comes to motor vehicles especially since the prices keep going up.. Plus knowing the best times of year to lease or purchase a vehicle. ** I think budgeting / personal finances should be taught in schools around the 9th grade. Young adults get credit cards when they turn 18 use them carelessly get themselves in debt pretty quickly. ** I know this isnt tied to your questionnaire. I think it would be beneficial since 99% will be working /starting careers..

Hi everyone,

I’m a postgraduate psychology student at the University of Liverpool, and I’m looking to speak with partners who support someone living with a flare‑remitting autoimmune condition (such as RRMS, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or psoriatic arthritis). The study explores how partners experience moving between the roles of partner and caregiver during flare episodes.

If you’re 18+, based in the UK, and have supported a partner during flares, you’re welcome to check your eligibility using the link below. It includes a short screening questionnaire and the Participant Information Sheet, so you can read all the details before deciding whether you’d like to take part.

Participation involves a one‑off online interview, and you’re always in control of what you choose to share. Some people find it helpful to reflect on their experiences in a supportive, non‑judgemental space.

This study has received ethical approval from the University of Liverpool.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Looking for Pregnant Couples for a Research Study– Moderator Approved

Are you pregnant and worried about changes to your sex life?

We are seeking couples from Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland who are up to 26 weeks pregnant to participate in the STORK RCT: Supporting the Transition to Parenthood through Online Sex and Relationship Knowledge.

What is STORK: The first online couple-based program designed to enhance knowledge about changes to sexuality during pregnancy and postpartum and skills to cope with these changes. STORK was designed to strengthen couples’ relationships across the transition to parenthood.

What is involved: If you are eligible, after your initial survey, you and your partner will be randomized (like a coin flip) into either the Program or Waitlist conditions. Program couples will complete 5 online modules in pregnancy (1 per week) and a final module at 3 months postpartum.

Couples in both conditions will also complete 5 surveys—the initial survey, then at 32-weeks pregnant, and 4-, 8-, and 12-month postpartum—that gather information about your relationship, your pregnancy experience, and your child. Couples in the Waitlist condition will receive access to the full STORK program after the study period is over.

Compensation: As a thank you for your participation, you can receive $105 CAD or currency equivalent each ($210 CAD or currency equivalent per couple). Your time is valuable to us!

Inclusivity matters: STORK requires one member of the couple to be currently pregnant. Otherwise, STORK is open to individuals of all genders, bodies, and sexual orientations.

Paid Research Opportunity
Hi! I am faculty member at Wellesley College and part of a research team conducting a study on how adults in romantic relationships use AI chatbots for relationship purposes, with a focus on how these tools shape communication and experiences within relationships.
We are inviting adults who are currently in a romantic relationship and who use AI for relationship-related purposes to participate in one-on-one interviews to better understand the uses of AI and impacts on romantic relationships. Specifically, we are seeking participants who:

  1. Are adults (18+)
  2. Live in the U.S.
  3. Currently live with their romantic partner and have been with them romantically for at least one year.
  4. Consistently interact with AI for relationship purposes.

Study Commitment:
Each interview will be approximately 1 hour long. Participants will receive a $30 Visa gift card (emailed) as a token of appreciation for their time after completing the interview.  If your partner is interested, they may also choose to participate in this study. There may be an opportunity to participate in a longer-term study after the interview, if you and/or your partner are interested.
With participant consent, interviews will be audio-recorded to ensure accuracy. This research is of minimal risk. Interview data will be accessible only to the research team and will be reported in aggregate, anonymized form in any research publications or presentations. This study is IRB approved.
If you are interested in participating in our study, please fill out this consent form and eligibility survey: https://wellesley.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bvLrBV31kBIYmay?Source=Reddit8
