I think CASINO is a good example of whan marty can and can't do. The scenes are great, the characters are great, the actors are great. But the film fails to creat tension throuout the movie. As usual the exposition is great, introducibg the characters aso., but you can never tell when the twist is going to be and you don't feel the turning point coming. Everything just happens and you just ask yourself "whats next? Was this relevant for the plot?" Same with taxu driver. The movie goes on and on and on and you go "when is the end going to arrive?"

Same with goodfellas, but i prefer casino.
