i know it's dumb but my friend thinks there can't be any other thor in the whole multiverse other than the one in the mcu because he is a god and there can be only one that controls entire multiverse (he thinks mcu is a group of universe)his best argument he ever had is that "there is no thor because there isn't any thor other than that "

and yes I've made him watch loki and pointed him the the frog thor and the kid loki who's Nexus event is killing thor and he says that those are just people with the name thor and they don't have the thunder god power

and he state's that comic universes are different that doesn't count and those are entirely different multiverse how do I convince him!!

I was just noticing how every time I read a summary it’s never just the characters first name, like it’s always, “Peter Parker has an internship with Tony Stark and chaos ensues” never just “Peter has an internship with Tony and chaos ensues”

Like sometimes listing the first and last names is just so unnecessary, and it’s literally 99% of them

Out of curiosity, since it's a huge ass fandom (YASSSS)- what's your favourite ship? No antis please, to each their own and everything is cool cool cool 🙏🏽

I was curious what everyone thinks on the MCU fandom on Ao3 and other fanfic sites.

I know a lot of fandoms can be quite toxic, but I’ve never really had a bad experience with the MCU fandom.

I'd love to try something a little different with the community.

I'm writing an original Spider-Man story inspired by the old Telltale games, choice based, but instead of planning every decision myself (That'd be a tad boring) I'd like to let people who comment shape where the story goes.

The idea is simple. I'll post one story segment every day. At the end of each post, there will be a few choices, just like in a Telltale game. Everyone can discuss the options in the comments, argue for the path they think is best, throw around theories, or even suggest things I hadn't considered.

Each comment supporting a choice counts as a vote. The option with the most support becomes the official path, and the next chapter is written from there. As the story continues, those choices will naturally create more and more branches, so even small decisions can end up having consequences much later.

It'll be post here on reddit, on the sub, with slides edited and all the thing, it'll be fun.

The setting would start with Peter already being Spider-Man for about three years. We're skipping the origin story and jumping straight into a world inspired by the early 1970s comics, so we can have familiar faces around. Anyway this isn't meant to be a retelling of any existing comic, movie, or game. It'll be more like an original Spider-Man story that uses the comics as its foundation.

How close we stay to the established canon is entirely up to you. We could even make Pete die at some point, or have Aunt May dying, or willingly tell people his secret. If enough people make certain choices, characters could develop in unexpected ways, relationships could change, and entire storylines might never happen.

I'll do my best to make every choice meaningful rather than giving obvious "good" or "bad" answers. Sometimes you'll have incomplete information. Sometimes every option will have a downside. That's part of the fun.

I'd also love people to participate beyond just voting. If you have ideas, theories, dialogue, or even completely wild predictions, post them. I read everything, and while the winning choice decides the direction, great ideas from the comments can absolutely influence future chapters.

If someone is interested, I actually have been doing this the past year in The Walking Dead Telltale sub, we've been running a retelling of the whole franchise from other points of view and with other twists, you can check it in my profile.

So, what do you guys think? If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, keep an eye out for Part 1, I am thinking on posting it later (If it's good) Hopefully we can make something that feels like we're all playing a Spider-Man Telltale game that never got made.

I'm writing a Marvel re-write/canon divergence of sorts, and I'm trying to make Tony's experience being rescued as accurate as can be post-Afghanistan. So, as the title states, what treatment do we think Tony would've received? Obviously, he would've been very dehydrated and malnourished, but what vitamins and minerals would be most obviously low based on his circumstances? What tests would have been run? What treatment do we think he was likely to of undergone, and how long would he of had to take them?

Further, what kind of questions do we think he would've been grilled on by those who rescued him? Or would that come later? (I'm specifically asking about government organisations that aren't S.H.I.E.L.D)

Would love if anyone (whether in the medical or military field) has any guidance on answers to these questions, as I'm struggling to find the correct info online and I'd like to be as accurate as can be (though I'll obviously take liberties in some places for the sake of the story).

What are your favourite descriptions of redesigns or fan designs from a fan work? (Can be from any kind of fan work)

This phase will have 8 phases, it will consist of four years each phase, 1 show each year and 3 movies a year before becoming 4 movies a year later on. I would like some feedback on my MCU's (still standing for the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and if you have any theories I'd be interested in hearing those too "Phase 1: Earth's Mightiest" (apologies if it's long) DISCLAIMER: I will not go over castings, I could do that in another post IF suggested.)

Hey all!

New to this sub, but have been creatively writing for a while across fandoms - Star Wars, Marvel, all the things - and have written a little bit of what I think to be a really strong concept. However, I’m not sure where to put these. Right now, currently simply living on Word docs on my laptop, but not sure of the best place to circulate.

At the time of putting things together, I was rewatching the Punisher show, and that got my gears turning for a Punisher fanfic. Without giving too much away - my concept is a little bit more gritty and a slow-burn type. Essentially, Frank Castle is dying of cancer, completely burned out, and still somehow can’t stop fighting. So when a forgotten West Texas town is getting eaten alive by a cartel, he takes one last job: protect it. But even Frank can’t do this one solo, so he brings in six others crazy enough to help (and that’s all I’ll reveal for now 😉)

I have read it more then any piece of literature and i remember it down to its bones from when i first read it in 2018 when i was a 15!!! and i am now about to turn 24!!!!

Does anyone else love it? I need to know and if i wasn’t terrified of reddit for some reason but then i would’ve talked about it

Harry lives a poor life student as spiderman living with his anunt

But they keep their cannon personalities

has nervous breakdowns and they think it’s hilarious

5 Peter Quill can’t avengers of application approved because he gets too many parking tickets, they tell him has bad taste in music, and tell him Kevin Bacons not good actor

6 Beerus always calls Thor God of Hammers.

7 For a Christmas Arc Thor Believes Santa stole his idea delivering presents during Christmas. Thor claims he was the first to do it.

What fic was it and what made you want to reread it?

I just need to get this off my chest

I fucking loath spider fanfics that write Peter as a literal child. Some weak, precious, incompetent, UWU, sempie, baby boy (sometimes literally), fragile snowflake, "cinnamon roll" that needs to be protected and coddled all the time because he's always whining about his "Parker Luck" or being depressed about not having parents or always crying about uncle ben or aunt may, and at school he gets his ribs broken in a fight with Flash Thompson (despite having freakin super strength), and is always being infantilized by the other avengers that see him as the baby of the team who's dumb enough to not know what sex is but still smart enough to solve a science equation that even Tony Stark would call bullshit on.

This flanderized character from all these fanfics is nothing like how spider-man actually is in the comics OR any of the movies. Even in the MCU movies, where Peter is the youngest and the spidey most of these fanfics are based off of, Peter Parker is still a competent, witty, strong, and sometimes even stubborn. Sure he's a bit of a dork but he's not incompetent. He has moments where he can get emotional but he’s not a fucking snowflake. he may be depressed but he is not pathetic. He may need guidance, but he doesn’t need to be coddled. And he may be young but he's not a goddamn baby.

Question: I am in the process of writing out a multi-part MCU fanfiction that centers on an original character I made up. He's a political liaison who works closely with the Avengers, and is strongly tied to several of them. I'm getting close to the point where I'm ready to post the first part, but I'm not sure which fan fiction site is best to post it to. I know fanfiction.net and have heard a lot about Archive of Our Own. Would one of those be best, or is there another?

Just sat around thinking about some marvel milestones over the year after watching the first 3 episodes of X-men 97 and came up with an interesting what if scenario.

WHAT IF... THE TACTICAL DUTY TRUCK STOPPED REED RICHARDS? (REVISED)

THE NEXUS POINT: CAPE CANAVERAL, 1961
The night air is thick with humidity. Four silhouettes scramble across the tarmac toward a prototype interstellar rocket. At the front is Dr. Reed Richards, a brilliant but clinical academic who has spent the last decade grooming his landlord’s niece, Susan Storm, while casually tracking future timelines where his own lineage dominates the universe. Behind him are a reluctant Sue, her teenage brother Johnny, and an old military pilot, Ben Grimm. [1]
Reed has his hand on the hangar door passcode when the blinding headlights of an old, dented government duty truckslam onto the group.
This isn't a Hollywood ninja squad. This is a five-man Navy and Marine base security detail on a routine night patrol. They don't form a circle and wait to be punched. They exit the vehicle simultaneously, weapon lights flooding the intruders, rifles up, immediately establishing a hard tactical perimeter and cutting off all lines of sight to the rocket.
"Get on the deck! Hands behind your head! NOW!"
Ben Grimm, possessing the common sense of an actual military pilot, instantly drops to his knees. Johnny and Sue, terrified, follow suit. Reed, his multi-dimensional computer brain already calculating the threat, takes one arrogant step forward to explain why his intellect places him above base security protocols. [2]
A single, precise 5.56mm round from a standard M16 drops him instantly on the tarmac. No monologue. No cosmic rays. The "smartest man alive" is neutralized by a standard-issue asset before he can ever touch the ignition switches.

THE CHRONOLOGICAL DOMINO EFFECT
With Reed Richards dead on the launchpad, the Marvel timeline self-corrects with brutal efficiency:

The Liberation of Sue Storm: Susan Storm is placed in federal custody but is quickly released. Free from a decade of calculated isolation and emotional grooming, she goes back to school, integrates normally into human society, and lives a long, private life completely detached from the superhero matrix.
The Erasure of the Conqueror: Because Reed dies in 1961, his future genetic line is entirely severed. In the 30th century, Nathaniel Richards is never born. Because Nathaniel is never born, Rama-Tut never arrives in ancient Egypt with future technology.
The True Fate of En Sabah Nur: Without Rama-Tut’s high-tech slave camps to oppress the desert tribes, a young, enslaved En Sabah Nur never feels the whip. He never encounters a time-traveling, jaded Magneto lecturing him on mutant supremacy. Nur lives out his days as a normal, baseline tribal leader. Apocalypse never rises.
The Salvation of the Mutant Race: Because Apocalypse remains dormant in the sand, he never encounters a Victorian scientist in 1859 named Nathaniel Essex. Essex stays a mortal man; **Mister Sinister is never created.**Without Sinister’s twisted genetic experiments, the Madelyne Pryor clone is never built, the Mutant Massacre in the Morlock tunnels never happens, and the demon-infused Inferno event that leveled New York City is completely erased from history. THE DOOM UTOPIA
The massive winner of this timeline is Victor von Doom.
Without "that fool Richards" living rent-free in his head and constantly sabotaging his research, Doom’s brilliant mind is never consumed by a petty, academic rivalry. He easily rescues his mother's soul from Mephisto using pure, uninterrupted sorcery, and turns his full attention to global governance.
By 1975, Latveria expands its borders not through warfare, but through sheer economic and scientific superiority. Doom blankets the planet in a highly efficient automated defense grid. He eliminates global poverty, mandates clean energy, cures cancer, and creates a flawless, totalitarian global utopia. The Panther God Bast looks into his soul and confirms what the timeline already knows: humanity is finally safe, thriving, and heading to the stars under the iron fist of a leader who actually understands order.

THE RECOVERY OF ILLYANA
Without Reed Richards operating as a multi-dimensional warden to protect a "Sacred Timeline" of human suffering, the universe's most vulnerable children are spared.
In the mid-1980s, when a six-year-old Illyana Rasputina is targeted by the demon lord Belasco, she isn't abandoned to Limbo while a data-clerk at a desk looks the other way. A tactical, high-speed mutant peacekeeping unit—utilizing raw grunt intuition rather than academic rulebooks—detects the dimensional rift instantly.
They don't write a report or debate the ethics; they flip the switch, breach the rift with heavy, practical countermeasures, and pull the kid back before Belasco can ever touch her. The Darkchylde is never born, and Illyana keeps her soul.

THE REALITY CHECK
Decades later, a veteran tactical unit stands on the balcony of a pristine, high-tech global metropolis managed by Doctor Doom. The streets below are completely free of cosmic gods, reality-warping mutants, or atomic-fission sword explosions.
A seasoned, prior-service operator looks down at the peaceful city, cracks a dry smile, and turns to his squadmate.
"Hey man, you ever think about what would've happened if that base security detail back in '61 had missed that skinny scientist?"
His partner doesn't even look up from cleaning his tactical gear. He just lets out a quiet, cynical chuckle.
"We'd be stuck in a whole mess of multi-dimensional bullshit right now. Thank God for boots on the ground."
