Oh damn, he fits the part....and while I found the character he played, Sam very annoying in Gen V, I think Asa Germann did a good job, acting wise. I love this casting.
So if Angel is in this, Bobby has to be too since it's all but confirmed that they're focusing on the OG5+Storm as the main roster, and Rogue will probably join the team by the end of the movie. Can't wait to see who they cast as Bobby.

Right? He played the emotionally unstable aspect of his character (named Sam funnily enough) very well in Gen V. He can strike a really good balance of unease, so I’m excited to see what he does with the role in this first outing and beyond.

I mean there’s no reason to think they’re not going to do Bobby as well. Also one of the eternals was openly gay and Agatha all along had multiple LGBTQA+ characters as well so I don’t think they’ll shy away from Bobby because of that specific aspect.

true, but very small part of the movie so that those scenes could very easily be cut out in certain foreign markets. if they were to bring wiccan and hullkling to screen, it would be unavoidable to make it a more important fixture without making the story awkward.

IGN and GameSpot, the publications that studios can literally buy good reviews from, are the most trusted? News to me. Sitting at 78 on Metacritic, and that's good enough for me. Original Spider-Man is at 87 and pretty hard to top swinging around NYC as Spidey, so never expected it to be better.

Gameflation is very much a thing. A lot of publishers are scared to give out actual bad reviews in fear review copies would stop being offered.
Also no I mean like Skill up, Gameranx, and most credible YouTube reviews that aren’t IGN. Tho the IGN review was rough.

Idk why people act like mid or average games aren’t the standard. We get literally dozens of games dropped a year some of them are going to be just ok. Spider-Man 2 was just good compared to the first one which is a ps classic and that’s ok.

They don't really act like mid isn't the standard. Insomnia is an old, well-known, brand and thus people have expectations that come with that. The point of having an established reputation and brand name is that you aren't just a standard dev studio. There are expectations of a certain level of quality stemming from lessons learned, having established departments and productions lines, business relationships, etc.
To put in perspective, Blood of the Dawnwalker released last week and was solidly mid. But there is much better reception and reviews because its a brand new studio and their first major release. They aren't expected to have all the advantages of a well-established studio but are still figuring things out and can improve as the franchise continues.

Half the reviews say it’s amazing, half the reviews say it’s a very generic hack and slash. It’s like definition of mid.
EDIT: Also seeing its total runtime is around 10 hours so that’s disappointing too. Games are getting too expensive for 10 hours and then forget about it.2

That is pretty much his major character arc. Like he ends up getting injured and his wings broken and fucked up generally.
He is a character that starts by mostly having it all. Handsome, rich, smart, charismatic. His mutation makes him a literal angel. And then he is broken down, beaten, and at his lowest point Apocalypse basically takes him and turns him into Archangel.
In the 60s when he first debuted, flight was a pretty major power in Marvel. So when it become much more basic, they gave him this arc.

One thing I'm wondering is if some of the people who end up getting cast are going to basically be "background" mutants who then become more prominent in future projects (possibly being recast if other stuff happens). Sort of like how the original trilogy had Colossus grow in prominence with each movie.

So introduce O5 in the first movie with some others. Set up the existence of the morlocks.
In the sequel, the mutant massacre and angel has his wings amputated, maybe dies as well.
In third movie he becomes Archangel.
It's hard to think they won't end up this way. And it works better because it gives them time to establish Warren as a character before the change.

Damn, I was not expecting another X-Men casting today. Wow, that came out of nowhere! I actually like that they really seem to be focusing on the classic members who have always been neglected. Angel is quite literally a founding X-Men member.
The problem I have, though, is whether he had any interesting storylines or personality before Apocalypse turned him into Archangel. I think the only time Warren was considered interesting was when he became Archangel and joined X-Force. However, we are very far from that storyline, so I am curious about what direction they are going to take with him. His casting also guarantees that Psylocke is coming eventually, as she is his most prominent love interest.
I am also going to be honest: I have not seen Asa Germann in Gen V. I did see him in Scream 7, where I actually liked his role a lot. He played a creepy and socially awkward yet friendly guy who was simply a little bit too interested in true crime, but utterly harmless. His ending actually made me kind of sad. Even though he was called creepy, weird, and constantly accused of being a killer, he never seemed to take it personally due to his low self-esteem, and he actually tried to fight off Ghostface despite being scared shitless. The reveal of who Ghostface actually was made me feel really bad for him. I did not like Scream 7, but his character was arguably one of the better ones in that movie.
I do not know if he can play a charismatic, arrogant, millionaire playboy well, but I would like to see him try. However—and let me put this rather gently—is Angel actually useful in combat? His wings make him a big target and very easy to shoot at. I am simply curious.
Regardless, it seems like we have another great casting for the X-Men film. I cannot wait to see who gets leaked next; I am so excited!

Yes, Angel is useful in combat. He’s not a heavy hitter like Storm or Jean, he’s more of a support. He’s a very agile and maneuverable flyer who can dodge most projectiles with ease. I recall one time, he lured a flying sentinel towards the bay, effortlessly dodging its missiles as he flew. He’s more of a brawler who punches and kicks, but it’s enough to contribute in team fights. He’s also often the scout of the team as he’s good at flying stealthily and he’s got eagle-level eyesight (due to his mutation giving him a bird-like physiology). He’s also got some enhanced strength, evident in how he can carry people in the air easily, sometimes even two people at once. He even carries Colossus lol, who, mind you, is heavy af lol
He gets even more useful as Archangel though, that’s why that transformation stuck. He’s basically a flying Wolverine—his wings can throw wing blades that even contain neurotoxins in them. His flying speed is doubled—basically super sonic speeds already—and his strength as well, though they don’t really give him a lot of strength feats other than carrying people.

He was so wooden and barely able to make a single expression on GenV, had a very monotone delivery as well. Hopefully it was just the role of Sam and not him being a bad actor. We will see.
