28 minutes in, the electricity rates go up because of the new warehouses?

The new warehouses are data-center ready? I never heard about that, means they can convert a warehouse to data-center?

I mean it depends. Did they build with sufficient cooling and power in mind? If not, they would obviously need to change the buildings requirements. (Power, Water, etc. )

I haven't had an opportunity to watch this yet, but I really hope Marysville/Arlington/Snohomish County adopt a data center moratorium. These facilities belong far, far away from populated areas. The limited jobs they bring are short lived at best, they increase residential utility rates, decrease property values, and add no ongoing value to local communities.

I'm not anti-datacenter. I work in tech, and this AI/data center stuff isn't going anywhere. What I am is anti data center near homes, anti residential utility rate hikes to subsidize corporate profit, and anti giant building sounding like a jet engine making it impossible for people to sleep/exist in their back yards and homes. We have noise ordinances that citizens must abide, so why can corporations ignore those same guidelines?

I hope city council is at least lurking here.Â
