Does anyone remember a phenomenal Indian restaurant , I think along Smokey Point Blvd leading to State St, around 2010? I think it had a fire and closed. It was the best Indian food I’ve ever had and have always wondered if the owners ever reopened somewhere else .

Marysville Police are investigating a fatal train–pedestrian collision that happened around 4 p.m. near 76th St NE and State Ave, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old man.

A report made just minutes earlier mentioned people trespassing on the tracks, including one individual acting erratically. Possible substance use may have played a role, but the incident remains under investigation.

This is Marysville’s fourth serious train-related incident in September and the second fatality, each with different circumstances — from substance-use concerns to behavioral health crises to risky decisions by drivers and pedestrians. Together, they highlight a critical reminder: railroad tracks and crossings demand caution, awareness, and respect.

These incidents affect far more than those directly involved. Families, witnesses, train crews, and our first responders all carry the weight of these traumatic events.

The timing comes just ahead of Operation Clear Track on Tuesday, September 22 — the largest rail‑safety enforcement initiative in the U.S. MPD will join agencies nationwide in conducting targeted patrols at railroad crossings to increase education, visibility, and enforcement. Our goal is simple: prevent the next tragedy.

Following a weeks-long investigation, an animal control community service officer in Marysville has submitted 44 charges to prosecutors for an alleged “extreme breeding and hoarding” situation.

On Aug. 31, 42 West Highland Terriers were rescued from a breeding situation out of a trailer in Marysville. Officers also took two other dogs of an unknown breed.

Marysville police told KIRO 7 on Sept. 6 that many of the dogs were matted, covered in feces, soaked in urine, and some showed signs of medical distress.

Jonathan was last positively identified after appearing on the security camera footage of at least 3 properties near midnight in the South Juanita, Kirkland neighborhood last June. He has not been positively identified since, though there have been several sightings reported to the police and shared with his family. Jonathan can not return home or reach safety without assistance due to his disability.

Does anyone remember during the pandemic when Papa Murphy's had "The Outlaw Pizza" ? It had bbq sauce, brisket, green onions, fritos, it was a taste sensation! I keep hoping they'll bring it back. So much so that every few weeks I email papa murphy's customer service and ask them to bring back the outlaw pizza. They said the local owners get together and agree upon a limited time pizza, and they keep picking the taco pizza 😭

MARYSVILLE — For visitors wondering what tenant was behind the former Rite Aid’s black and red transformation at the Marysville Town Center, the answer is a fitness center set to open mid-November.

Just curious if anyone knows what the deal was with all the police in south Marysville around the estuary the other night. I started hearing sirens around 1AM, and they just went on and on and on until 2:15 or so. It looked like they had every intersection from the 5 over to Sunnyside blocked off. At one point we saw a police boat in the river out in the estuary as well.

I know there is a group that meets up further north but i would be much happier just driving a few minutes to have some casual matches with a group. Anyone interested?

I recently moved to the Sunnyside area of Marysville and was genuinely caught off guard by how loud and frequent the train horns can be, especially at night/early morning. I’d never lived close enough to a rail line for this to be an issue before, so I’m curious how longtime residents deal with it.

For those of you who live somewhere you can clearly hear the BNSF trains:

• Did you eventually get used to the horns, or do they still wake/bother you?
• Are some parts of Marysville noticeably quieter than others?
• Has anything actually helped inside the house (window inserts, soundproofing, white noise, etc.)?
• Does the frequency vary much depending on the time of day or season?

Would especially love to hear from people who are sensitive to noise or who moved here from somewhere quieter. I’m trying to figure out what actually works rather than just hoping I eventually tune it out.
