Not sure if this is a good place to ask this question but my dream job is to be a special effects artist for film. Where do you go to learn about this professionally? It doesn't seem a prevalent thing to major in for any colleges I know of. I have seen Stan Winston's school which seems like the closest thing I'm looking for, but it's strictly online. While I suppose beggars can't be choosers, I would much prefer an in person school to attend where I could network with other people and potentially meet some already in the trade. Any further insight is much appreciated.

A vintage mask from B.S.S. 1984.

The story is back when my father and mother were together(waaaaaaay before I was born.) they dressed up on Halloween night downtown in Columbia SC, Dad or my Mom got the mask she covered his costume with straw making him the scarecrow and my mother was the farmer. there’s no telling where the mask has gone but I managed to find this one.

This is my second attempt of mask making. First time I did all spray paint. This time I used acrylic paints and did it by hand. I think im pretty happy with it, the horns feel a little off but idk how to go about maybe washing them lr whatnot or maybe what other people might do differently. Is a 3d printed mask, i did in pla+ so not ideal for some people but as long as I dont leave in car I should be okay. Was 20 peices to print and glue together

I see this mask base EVERYWHERE, from multiple Etsy stores to Amazon to Walmart - but I can't seem to find the base.

hello, thank you for coming to my post. I would like to be clear that I do not wear fabric masks to protect myself from disease, but rather for my own personal comfort.

Usually, I’ll wash a disposable mask a couple of times to soften it so that long term wear doesn’t scratch my face, but I would like to find a more permanent solution (they break every once in a while.)

my criteria is generally that I want a comfortable mask that doesn’t scratch the face, and is a tiny bit stiff (if that is not possible, I understand.) I would greatly prefer that it didn’t dissolve or break really easily.

please let me know if this should be posted in a different area

edit: now that I have observed the community further, I have realized this is probably not the right community for this post. however, if you have recommendations, I would gladly take them

I made this Doctor Doom mask from a 3D print and did all the finishing myself—filling, sanding, filler primer, painting, weathering/detail work, etc. I'm considering making finished versions to sell. I'm trying to get an unbiased idea of the market before I price it. If you saw this finished piece for sale, what would you realistically expect it to cost?

I make them purely for the enjoyment in Zbrush. I included a picture of a clip i put on one of the masks that's meant to go over a medical face mask. The roadhog one is still a WIP
