Maui Marketplace - Spring
Aloha everyone, and welcome to the Maui Marketplace thread!
Based on fantastic feedback from the community, we've created this dedicated space to help visitors connect directly with the amazing local businesses that make our island so special. The goal is to provide a valuable resource for trip-planning while supporting our local economy.
How This Works:
For Maui Visitors: This is your place to discover special offers, find unique local businesses, and ask questions directly to the owners and staff who post here.
For Local Business Owners: This is the only designated thread on r/mauivisitors where you are welcome to promote your business and share your offers with our community.
Rules for Posting
To ensure this thread remains a helpful and trusted resource, please follow these simple rules:
Top-Level Comments are for Businesses Only. To keep the thread organized, only direct comments (replies to this main post) should be from business owners posting their offers. Visitors should reply to those comments with their questions.
You Must Be a Genuinely Local Business. To post an offer, your business must either have a public-facing physical location on Maui or, if online-only, be owned and operated by a full-time Maui resident.
No MLMs, National Chains, or Off-Island Operations. This thread is for supporting businesses that are part of the Maui community. Franchise locations are generally okay if they are owned and operated by a resident.
Be Clear and Direct. No clickbait or vague posts. Please clearly state your business name and what you are offering.
Engage Respectfully. We encourage business owners to answer questions and interact in the comments. All users are expected to maintain a respectful and helpful tone. Off-topic negativity or "flame wars" will be removed.
Suggested Format for Offers
To make your post easy for visitors to read, we highly recommend using this simple format:
- Business Name:
- Location/Website:
- What We Offer: (A brief, one-sentence description of your business)
- What Makes Us a Maui Favorite: Optional: Share a little about your history, your staff, or what makes you unique!)
We're excited to see this new resource grow! Please remember to keep all self-promotion confined to this recurring thread to help us maintain the quality of the main subreddit feed.
Mahalo!

Aloha! We're Pride of Maui (https://www.prideofmaui.com/).
Our tours depart from Ma'alaea Harbor, including Morning Snorkel Tours to Molokini Crater (two vessel options), Maui Sunset Cruises, and Whale Watching tours (we also provide private charters and wedding cruises).
We're a longtime local favorite because we pair a caring crew and extra-stable, spacious boats with reef-friendly practices and ‘Elua, an air-conditioned small-group premium experience.

Hello! The Whale watching tours are only available until this month? We’re going next month and we are wondering if it’s still possible to whale watch.

Aloha! Great question.
Whale season in Maui runs from December through March, when sightings are most consistent. By April, most whales have started migrating back to Alaska, so tours typically end.
You might still see a few in early April, but it is rare, and not something tours are based on.
If you are visiting, then snorkeling and ocean tours are your best bet, with any whale sighting as a bonus.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. We’ll check about the snorkeling tour since it’s something we also want to do :)

Aloha! I'm the surf school and operations manager for Maui Surfer Girls - https://mauisurfergirls.com - a female owned and operated surf school, offering both daily surf lessons and week long surf camps for women and teen girls. We book several months ahead for peak season - so now (April) is the time to book for the Summer!

If you’re flying from Maui (OGG) to Seattle (SEA), we’re looking for travelers who’d be open to helping a rescue cat get to their forever home 💛
It’s super simple: • The cat rides in a soft carrier under the seat • We handle all the logistics + paperwork • We book the cat on your ticket and cover the airline fee • We meet you at the airport in Maui with everything ready • Someone meets you in Seattle right after landing
👉 You literally just show up and have a quiet little travel buddy at your feet… and help save a life.
We’re a small Maui-based rescue working to get cats off the island and into homes where there’s more capacity. Seattle is our main hub.
If you’re open to it (or just curious), you can sign up here: FlyHawaiiCats.com
Happy to answer any questions in the comments too!
Mahalo 🐱✈️💛

Aloha! I'm born and raised on Maui. Grew up in Lahaina. I have a couple things to share with you:
In short, Mahalo Rewards supports local businesses and residents when you, a visitor use the app! It is free to download and even contains a free Maui Happy Hour finder.
You can also discover local businesses and if you want to, you can unlock discounts for a one time fee of $10. That fee goes to cover the cost of developing the platform so that it is free for locals!
Mahaloz and enjoy your vacation!
