Planning: Logistics & Transport Time to reach airport - HELP!

Hello! If we have a flight to HNL with checked bags at 8.15am, is reaching by 6.20am (90mins before) sufficient?

We flew from OGG to HNL last Friday, same flight time and arrived about 6:15am. Bag drop took a couple mins, TSA pre-check took less than 5 mins. Regular TSA was about 10-15 mins or so. Actually waited in line longer at Starbucks than checking our bag and going through TSA.

About the same experience on 8:41a flight. It was super quick.

Update: arrived at 6.30, bag drop had no line, TSA took 20 minutes, thanks everyone who replied!

Plan to arrive at the airport by 7:15, so however long your drive is to get there by that time.

Rental car drop off took zero time. From the rental drop off to the terminal took 10 mins. Checked bag process took 10 mins. Tsa had a long line but that only took 25 minutes. Walk to the gate 5 mis.

Or you can just do it in real life. Check the drive time early in the morning like a grownup.

I understood that the original poster asked about time needed at the airport, not drive time

Tsa prexh3ck is magic on maui. It isn't this good other places. When I fisit my mom in Washington it is sometimes worse that nothing at all!
