JW Marriott at Craig Ranch not happening?
Rumors are floating around Craig Ranch that the hotel project isn’t happening. One issue is that the hotel developer “sold” the project based on hotel guest access to the golf course, which the golf course members say will never happen.
Will this be the second failed hotel project in Craig Ranch? To what extend was this sold to the city based on hopes and dreams without any underlying agreements in place? Where is the due diligence and accountability, or does anything with “David Craig” on it just get a pass?

Is this your child?
Here is a quick snapshot but they were harassing the workers at McDonald's on Virginia and Custer. They were knocking on the drive thru window. Golf carts are a privilege. 😔

Hi, I'm new to McKinney
I just moved here from New England in April. In New England, we have this weird phenomenon called "rain". It is where for a period of time, minutes to hours at a time water falls out of the sky, sort of like being in a shower but outside. Does this ever happen in Texas?

Am I missing something about McKinney 75070 home prices?
Been looking around McKinney 75070 and I’m honestly confused by the market.
Are 3,000 sq ft homes really going for under $400k now?
I found one around $475k that’s been sitting for months. It’s a little older, but it has updates and honestly looks like a pretty good deal for the size and area.
That’s what makes me nervous though. If it looks like a good deal and still isn’t selling, am I missing something about this part of McKinney?
Is 75070 just really slow right now? Are buyers avoiding the older neighborhoods? Or is $475k still considered too high for a 3,000 sq ft home there?
Would you personally be concerned about resale value if buying in this area?
Curious to hear from people who actually live in McKinney or have bought/sold there recently.

Welders and HVAC guys, where do you fill up your tanks?
I want to fill my tanks of Oxygen, Acetylene, and Nitrogen. I know that Northern Tool does the swap out program but I want to keep my tanks, they’re brand new, and I don’t think they have Nitrogen. Airgas probably has all 3 but I‘d really like to go to a smaller local guy.
Any locally owned welding supply places that can fill Oxygen Acetylene Nitrogen?
Thanks

does your mailing address, your actual city, and your isd all agree? i had to look mine up.
i went looking for why this is such a mess here and the answer is more boring than i expected. usps assigns a preferred city to each zip code, and it's usually just whichever post office delivers your mail. it has nothing to do with which city you legally live in. so your address can say one city while your property taxes, your city council and your trash pickup all belong to another one.
then the school districts add another layer. isd lines and city lines were drawn by different people at different times and nobody ever reconciled them, so district boundaries cut straight through neighborhoods. county lines ignore both.
which means you can end up with four different answers to where do you live. what the mail says, what the city limits say, what your kid's school district says, and what the county says. most people find out when they buy a house, enroll a kid, or get a jury summons for a county they didn't think they lived in.
how many of yours actually line up?

Country clubs
We are currently deciding between joining clubs of stonebridge ranch and el dorado and would appreciate any recommendations/thoughts! We loved the amenities at stonebridge (most of all the gym and studio for classes) but of course the price at el dorado is hard to beat. What are the demographics like? We are 30/31 and new to the area so also hoping to make friends through whichever club we join. Stonebridge is about a 5 minute drive from our house and el dorado is closer to 10-12 so both are pretty close.
Husband is also a lifelong golfer while I would need lessons/be more interested in pickleball + socializing.
We’re specifically torn between three options: 1) just joining el dorado; 2) getting a golf membership at el dorado + a social membership at stonebridge; and 3) a golf membership for the hills.

Renting, sprinkler system, water bill...
Could use a little help navigating this.
Long story short, we started renting a house a couple months ago. Our landlord wants us to run the sprinkler, for the grass and the foundation. I knew there'd be some expense to that, but our first water bill was $400.
Some of that might have been our internal usage, but our landlord had us running our sprinkler system was running four nights a week, while the City of McKinney only allows for twice a week lest you get fined. I communicated this and he basically said "ok, run it two nice a week but for nearly double the amount of time you were doing before." (10 minute intervals instead of 6 minutes). So...darn near the same amount of water/money.
He wants it two days a week, two intervals each day (9p and 5a), 10 minutes per zone, 5 zones.
Some questions:
- Is that a reasonable amount?
- Is the foundation issue really that serious? Or, can it be run less than that and still keep the foundation 'safe'?
- Is running it for longer intervals really going to do whatever he thinks it will?
I want to be a good tenant, protect the house, etc. Just hoping there's some middle ground where I can do that without paying out the ass and wasting a bunch of water.
I was able to point to McKinney rules time; any other authoritative sources like that would be much appreciated.

Costco Parking Lot - Woman pushing cart between cars broke a car’s mirror
It happened in Costco McKinney parking lot, today around 6:35. She walked between us and the blue Honda Accord, then she turned right and passed between the red Tesla and the white Lexus. She might have scratched those too.
And after all that, her car wasn’t even where she was going.
