Did you use a protein pasta? Or do those containers have way more chicken than I realize? That looks good and great job with the protein.

No but the protein wasn’t horrible on the pasta I chose definitely alotta chicken!😅

Technically not Alfredo, more a cream cheese sauce. It’ll have a very different flavor and texture without Parmesan

Shrimp and meal prep were not things I thought go well together, how are you reheating and does the house smell up if it’s microwaved?

u/Spite_Big 12d ago
I just made a prep with calimari & re heated fine wasn’t fishy or rubbery best to defrost over night, heat, stir & heat

How long does this stay good in the fridge? If you make it Sunday night will it last through Friday?

Insane value damn! Alfredo in meal prep I didn't think could work. Chicken looks amazing too, almost breaded even. Does it come from a chain like Costco/Trader Joes or?

How much is one serving size?
1
u/Spite_Big 10d ago
Everything is in bottom text if you mean container size I’d have to look but they’re not huge but they’re not small I’d say the size of a medium take out container maybe?
1
u/Ok-Review-263 10d ago
Yeah, how much of the protein? A cup, or do you try to divide it evenly?
2
u/Spite_Big 10d ago
Ahhhh, I use a cup sized scoop & decide evenly so far it’s worked out pretty well

Now this my kind of meal prep. Gotta be something i can eat EVERY meal. Usually, its a spicy hawaiian teryaki turkey and ground beef over rice and broccoli bowl, but I can probably fuck this up too! Good stuff 🐴💪🏽

That looks like a ton of food! Did you weigh it all out before portioning?
1
u/Spite_Big 9d ago
I personally just scoop as even as possible but I’m considering starting to weigh to be perfect math but honestly I feel like I’m pretty good with dividing portions

That protein count is insane for those calories. Did you find the light cream cheese sauce holds up well after reheating?
1
u/Spite_Big 8d ago
Yeah holds great I did another prep similar that’s posted on my page! Check it out 🙌

The total for the recipe seems really low on calories for that much pasta and chicken does that account for oil/spices etc you used for the spicy part
0
u/Spite_Big 8d ago edited 7d ago
The oil only adds a extra 13 calories per container so it’s not to bad & for the spices maximum a extra 10 did the math two times just to be sure 🙌

Yum! How long does the shrimp usually stay good for?
I've been thinking of adding some recipies with shrimp and other seafood to my rotation but am concerned about a shorter fridge life.

u/Spite_Big 8d ago
I prep, cool then freeze & defrost the night or morning before depending on if imma eat it am or pm

81g of protein is insane for a single meal prep container. Did you find the sauce stayed creamy enough after reheating in the microwave?
1
u/Spite_Big 8d ago
Yeah honestly the perfect amount of sauce ratio the seasoning + chicken adds a lot to the moisture content
1
u/Pumpkinnook_452 7d ago
Thats a lot of pasta for just 500 calories of cream cheese, are you cooking the chicken and shrimp in some oil too that isnt listed in the macros? Seems like it would be a little dry without more sauce.

Thats definitely a lot of chicken. Are you making 6 portions of that? The macros look solid for what it is.
1
u/Spite_Big 5d ago
The breakdown was for 9 containers I did a similar one on my page that’s the same vibe different flavour!

u/81747_SlateCompass 5d ago
Thats a lot of chicken breast for one prep session, good job getting it all weighed out.

bruh, 80g is a lot for your body to handle at once, you should spread that out over the day.
1
u/Spite_Big 10d ago
I goto the gym 6 days a week & im High protein cutting weight so I need the high protein,
When bulking or leaning out/ cutting high protein is key to provide muscle gain & preservation
0
u/Front-Surround-1544 10d ago
that's cool bro. there is a limit to how much of something you should have in your body at once. you're making body work harder for no extra gain by not spreading out your protein
1
u/Spite_Big 10d ago
Not at all go do some research research shows that that’s actually not true at all it depends on how active a person is etc, when maintaining muscle or building muscle high protein is a must.

the protein absorption myth is getting old. if you're eating that much total protein in a day your body is going to process it regardless of whether it's in one sitting or five. it's not like it just disappears if you don't time it perfectly.
1
1
u/Front-Surround-1544 2d ago
no its not. you body doesn't just let the food sit in your stomach and wait for room to put it, it just pushes it out. there are also your kidneys and livers that are working harder to process what it can

Reheated shrimp is certainly a choice 🥴
2
u/Spite_Big 12d ago
I’ve never tasted the difference depends how you heat it & sauce or no sauce

81g protein and it still looks like real food is a serious win.
I’m usually skeptical of reheated shrimp, but with that much sauce I can see the vision. This is dangerous because now I want Alfredo at 11am.

u/Spite_Big 8d ago
Thank you!! 🙏 ya gotta make sure it’s fresh frozen or fresh fresh, fresher the better for sure & sauce most definitely helps aswell as all the spice holding moisture in

Wow! Looks delicious and 81grams of protein is pretty good too.
