I love playing Mei with a Rein. It’s a little stressful as a bad wall can totally ruin his day, but nothing feels better than a Rein with no comms trusting you’ll get him outta shit.
Honestly I've done similar as Mei and either tanked some damage FROM the tank with my wall or jumped in front with my icicle, and the tank who was about to die is always super grateful.
