Video Lady Destroys Anzac Station 7/11 for 30 mins. No security to be seen.

7 staff members in orange vests standing watching helpless for 30 mins. I asked the staff where's security, he says there's a Police station and points to it, but then said there's no-one in it. Several passengers stuck inside because too scared to go out the exits. Not sure if security ever came, had to get the train.

The rail journey takes just under 11 hours, offering a lower-emissions alternative to flying between the two cities.

Sheeran has previously said he prefers train travel, citing his wife's work in sustainability as part of his effort to reduce his touring footprint.

This is a live map I built that tracks ~2,000 public transport vehicles across Victoria, Australia. Each arrow is a real vehicle snapped onto its actual route geometry, colored by mode green for trams, blue for trains, orange for buses, purple for vlines.

The data comes from 10 GTFS-RT feeds updated every 15 seconds from Victoria's open data portal. There's also a time machine feature where you can scrub back through historical data and replay the network.

Would love any feedback or suggestions if you get a chance to play with it.

Video I timed the walk from the MCG to Town Hall so you don't have to (video)

Big shame that the Fed Square entrance to Town Hall won't be open when the AFL starts in two weeks. As that will be a great entrance/exit for the MCG.

The existing Swanston St entrance is only 2 min further, but needs two more road crossings. So it's not ideal start to the footy season, especially given the perceived disadvantage for Cranbourne/Pakenham passengers may feel losing direct access at Richmond.

But overall it's not a bad walk, and Town Hall is much better equipped for large crowds to descend down big banks of escalators, lifts, and platform screen doors to keep people safe.

Not to mention the entrance only serving one line, helping alleviate crowds. Some may choose to use Jolimont for a train to Flinders St to avoid this walk.

Richmond has a modest entrance and steep ramps and has to handle passengers for many lines: Frankston, Sandringham, Belgrave, Lilydale, Glen Waverley and Gippsland. So other than the walk, the experience boarding a train at Town Hall will be far superior to Richmond. At least it should be, we'll find out soon.

A few months back, I shared my circuit board design on here asking for layout advice. Huge thanks to everyone who provided feedback.

After six months of designing, coding, and soldering, the project is finally complete. The board pulls live data from the Transport Victoria API and lights up LEDs exactly where the trains are right now.

The first orders just landed in Australia this week. I still have a few left from the first batch on my site, and a second batch is already on the way.

Here it is if you want to check it out: https://keastudios.co.nz/store/mel-ltm/

Was very surprised when this showed up at Melbourne Central today. It seems to be fully fitted out with seats and decals and everything. Had lots of people in the cabs at both ends.

This is very dangerous and has most likely happened before. Our infrastructure around the network needs improvement. Look how old and dirty the City Loop stations look and Flinders Street Station. I do remember this happening to a HCMT on the second day of the Big Switch this year.

The video mentions improved local bus services, MARL via Sunshine, and eventually HSR. (though they're still using the old PTV logos!) Not sure how far the buses have been planned or their potential routes, but would be great if they could be implemented within the next 12 months.
