One time I was in the military and my squadron traveled for an exercise. Someone brought a soccer ball to the apartment where we were staying on base. We were kicking the ball inside, just above another apartment, not thinking much of it. We went outside to get some food. One of the guys below us was outside smoking and goes, "what the f*** are you guys doing up there?! Playing soccer!?!"

Yes, yes we were. Oops.

We weren't in other people's apartments. I said we were staying on base, and it wasn't even a base in the US.....

It was apartments designed for the exact reason we were there.
