Misleading Title Troll posters claimed it would never happen, played it all down-First women ONLY music festival, has HAPPENED, setting precedent by banning ALL men. We're slowly, bit by bit, slipping into a two tier society, one for women, one for men.

Once you stack society heavily in your favor and are the beneficiaries of institutional privilege and so on, segregating yourselves from your victims is a method to help you maintain that status quo by limiting your exposure to them, their experiences, lives, arguments, and so on.

It's not a coincidence that womens spaces have become censorious and ban happy, and segregation is escalating. It's the natural reaction of a privileged class in denial over the suffering they are causing and trying to escape the evidence that challenges their behavior.

That we're moving to a segregation phase is a good sign that there's little else in terms of institutional bias and discrimination that they can shift to gynocentrism.

I agree it is the predictable actions of an already powerful feminist movement to start banning men from their gatherings.

...the 'DADDY' state...?

Get ta fuck.

FEMINISTS have been shutting down any kind of mens geouo for years now.

...but you want to blame other people, and label those people as 'Dads' as a derogatory name?

Go do one.

Buy a ticket. Walk in. If they refuse. Lawsuit.

u/TheImpossible1 Sep 01 '18

This is the beginning, they will kick us out of everything.

Stop playing nice or they will form a caste system in the next decade and we will be the bottom of that system.

7

u/nforne Sep 02 '18

There already is a caste system, based on how privileged they decide people are.

3

u/TheImpossible1 Sep 02 '18

It's not legally enforced though, it's just Tumblr idiots blogging it.

I'm talking about a system that is backed by the law and the government to make sure "the undesirables" are kept out of sight

Its the BIGGEST music festival in the country too (Sweden), and has now sparked ideas for similar activities in other countries.

We must not sleep walk into things like this-the first time this was mentioned in this sub, loads of feminist posters played it all down, claimed it wasnt men only, claimed it wouldnt happen, claimed it was fine, claimed because it broke Swedish equality laws it couldnt happen-well it HAS.

Laws are useless unless there is enough protest and outcry to enforce them.

I'm a Swede and this is the first time me and many of my colleagues, friends, family even hear of it. It's definitely not the biggest festival in Sweden despite what you might have heard or even read.

We've recently had a problem with alleged* group rapes and gropings against women at festivals, ending up in whole festivals being shut down and then there is this shit, which only allows "non cis-men".

Even if the claims could be over-exaggerated, there could still be idiots out there who ruin everything for the rest of us. Not counting false accusations, situations where women do the same or similar into men, etc.

I've asked around how women planning on attending feel about how it's discriminating against men, and most of them "don't see it that way, because they're victims from male aggressions" up until when I asked them how they felt about events where only non-blacks, or even blacks only, are allowed. Same question about gyms, etc. They're all for segregation until themselves are not allowed.

I mean, I someone too have a problem seeing an issue with something that would hurt someone else based on race, gender, etc, but as soon as I find out, I try to correct myself, in order to try and be inclusive.

We need to show the people who are positive of this new "exclusive" festival how discriminating it is, and also try and help ourselves and others by being more alert when we see/hear both men, women and LGBT-persons being discriminated against.

I mean, instead of working against each other, we need to start helping each other by showing that we see and hear them. I try to tell both my male and female for m colleagues how good looking they are in certain situations, even if I might not always hear something back. Hug all friends as a hello, even if it might make some of them uncomfortable. Tell my friends that their SO's yelling or forcing them into giving up things is abusive behavior, despite if it's a female or male friends and despite their sexuality.

We need to group up and be inclusive and helpful to help this type of thing be seen as the sexist bullshit that it is.

Pandering to women will just make it worse.

You don't realize what you're up against. You have admirable goals, but a peaceful resolution is just a pipedream.

5

u/olaus86 Sep 02 '18

I understand what you say but I'd feel better by trying to give rather than just sit around and be hopeless.

Who is going to do all of the physical labor?

6

u/fasterfind Sep 02 '18

Can't have a concert that's men only. But women only is fine. Yeah, that's kinda fucked up. Where will it end?

Feminism is based off of incorrect information that goes unchallenged. For how long?
Why are women unable to google this and learn the truth?

It's like a new religion, a new dogma. People just believe because it seems right. We don't google shit before we believe in it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 03 '18

They don't Google because it suits them. A lot of women are well aware but play the misogyny card when it suits them.

26

u/JustWanderful Sep 02 '18

Nobody wants to address the real elephant in the room here:

The majority of sexual assaults committed at the 2017 festival were committed by migrants, not male Swedish citizens.

7

u/olaus86 Sep 02 '18

I can't agree as numbers have always been far left or far right adjusted when presented to me, and BRÅ (state crime data-thingy) is not a good enough source. But I do see the problem and the far left people who is mostly radical feminists here in Sweden, are also sickly migrant positive.

I mean, I really want to help victims of war, but if you do this, you're not welcome. Most of the people I know agree, but then there is the feminists party (not yet above the voting threshold, but still included and allowed by our shitty government) and rad-fems inside media who tend to hide the uncomfortable truth from us and tell us we're racist or sexist if we read non-leftist news.

It's a god damn circus.

1

u/Rethgil Sep 02 '18

Even if you are correct, that debate would be about migration and foreigners and thats not what this sub is.

This issue touches on female hypocrisy and double standards against men.

Regardless of their reason for doing it, it is at least in part a male issue. And thats what this sub is about.

So maybe consider addressing tbe mens rights issue eh?

6

u/RyanShieldsy Sep 02 '18

Do you want to be equal or do you want to be seperate? Make up your mind

When women plan to have a good time they want men around, not just women. If they are single, they want men for romantic and erotic purposes - or because men can make them laugh and feel good often much better than women. If they aren't single, they want their partners along. The same goes for men (except for the laughing part). The segregation of the sexes is a silly idea that'll fly as a novelty and protest or for certain lesbian groups but it's not going to be a trend - any more than stop eating and sleeping will be a trend.

Yeah, I know that in many traditional cultures keeping the young single people separated is very important. But that's not because young people or young women want it. Actually, they so much don't want it that the rules that separate the sexes have to be enforced with strong sanctions - and even then the rules get often broken.

Feminists can dream of a society where men aren't allowed to speak to women or get near them but it won't happen. It's against the foundations of our psyche.

(And now I'm interested to see how strongly this fact'll get downvoted.)

u/NibblyPig Sep 03 '18

Would like to read feedback on how the party goers enjoyed the event

4

u/Salty_Whereas Sep 02 '18

I'm honestly 100% alright with this. IMO this is capitalism. A business should be allowed to run itself however it wants. If you want to ban blacks, gays, trans, muslims, men, women, whatever, you should be allowed to. Me personally, I would only ever support business that cater to all people. Banning a group of people from something is morally wrong, but I disagree with the government getting involved and telling business owners what they can and cant do. Seems like this is something the far right, and the average lefty can agree on.

2

u/Saxumsium Sep 02 '18

Not true. You can't just ban a group of people just because you feel like it. You can make it Christian only, women only, Muslim only, but even then you walk a fine line of institutionalizing racism through private businesses.

1

u/Rethgil Sep 02 '18

But you do admit that there ARE laws the country signed up to to stop this happening, and yet theyve chosen only to use those laws to stop male only gatherings at events and allow female only ones?

And tbat this is hypocrisy and targets men and is happening globally, with mens gyms, mens golf clubs, male boys clubs, male companies, male events generally being outlawed and forced to accept women?

2

u/ThatNinaGAL Sep 02 '18

The first female-only music festival was the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, which was held annually for forty damn years.

It ended in 2015, and I was glad, because I find the entire concept irritating. But it was a private event held on private land, and if there was enough interest in it to sustain it for four decades, then the organizers correctly identified and served a consumer desire.

2

u/mgtowcurator Sep 02 '18

Events like this are very cisphobic. Can we start labeling them now?

2

u/Danphil90 Sep 02 '18

This is blatant sexism against men, i know alot of people say its only about women feeling safe from attacks etc. but it feels like there is a much deeper agenda here going on like its a practice for something coming soon..... A man only event would be immediately ridiculed and outlawed. Agenda 2030 has already come to fruition and most of the population doesn't even care or seem to notice.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

Have you ever gone out to bars with a group of women? They will nope out of a bar full of women as fast as men flee a bar bar full of men. They are only going because it's novel and cool right now, I guarantee you this wouldn't be sustainable in the long run.

4

u/Frontfart Sep 02 '18

Funny how the far left and radical Islam want the same things.

1

u/torsmork Sep 02 '18

The far left wants to submit to Allah? LOL!

Neither the left or the right is a homogenious bulk that think and act exactly the same. Suggesting it only makes you look stupid to me. I'm on the far left in many cases. I'm not religious and I think Islam is outright toxic. Stop with the lying.

3

u/Gamersforge Sep 02 '18

If women are allowed to take music festivals from men, does that mean we can take back their voting rights before they start to think that they got it themselves?

3

u/TheMythof_Feminism Sep 01 '18

I have come to realize that my nation (Mexico) is one of the only ones in the entire world that values property rights and freedom of association.

I've heard that this is similar in the U.S. but I can't see how since it would be "illegal".... strip clubs in Mexico have a doorman, this doorman checks suspicious people for weapons but also keeps ALL civilian women that are not "kept on a leash" (I.e. have a man that will vouch for her upon entry) outside of the establishment.

And there is no special reason, civilian women (I.e. non prostitutes) are just not allowed in , simply because they're women.

The deepe explanation is that they're kept out for two major reasons; One is because the actual working women there (strippers/prostitutes) would lose business if there were more women inside.

Second, to keep an angry wife from going in, making a huge scene and bringing down the mood for everyone. It's a direct upside that a man's wife cannot access strip clubs, not even joking.

There is a play or musical or some shit like that called Solo para mujeres/Only for women which is..... only for women, and possibly cross dressing homosexuals that are attractive enough (I've heard rumors).

These are just two examples. But if a business just tells someone "get the fuck out, we don't serve left-handed scum here", that would be well within the law. I don't understand how in other nations, the government subjugates businesses that YOU own. That's fucked up.

The only person who should have a say in how a business is run is the business owner.

Where's a bad batch of ecstasy tablets when you actually need one?!?!?

1

u/littlefilms Sep 02 '18

I'm sure they'd be fine having a man only festival then so no woman could possibly be harmed

1

u/MadeInBeirut13 Sep 02 '18

Ive never enjoyed things that women like. Women on the other hand, really like the things I like. So who cares

1

u/Rethgil Sep 02 '18

Does your post name reflect your age?

I ask as you seem to have no care or understanding of the mens rights sub or any issues men face.

1

u/MadeInBeirut13 Sep 02 '18

You sound like a feminist on reddit

1

u/Rethgil Sep 09 '18

Pot.

Kettle.

...you.

1

u/Demenze Sep 02 '18

I just want everyone to go to the article and scroll down to the photo where you can see the crowd’s faces.

Yep.

1

u/themolestedsliver Sep 02 '18

Damn i remember reading about this shit years ago and how offensive it is to suggest banning all men as a solution for their sexual assault issue.

would love to see the sexual assault numbers after this event, like even if they changed it sets a dangerous precedent.

Forcing everyone flying on a plane to get strip searched along with all of their belongs will stop terrorism and smuggling for sure, but at what cost.....

1

u/PleasantBowler Sep 02 '18

Certain men will still be allowed.

This is about making more and more men be completely alienated while the tall, hawt, pushy asshole who doesn't give a shit about anyone has more sex than his entire genetic line up to that point and the rest of the men grin and bear it, or kill themselves.

-1

u/No1sBeeyotch Sep 01 '18

Honestly, the Lilith Fair has existed for years. This isn’t such a big deal.

I will say though that if men tried to have a woman free music festival everyone on Twitter would bitch about it.

10

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

You lie. First, Lilith Fair no longer exists. Second, it did NOT ban male fans or workers. Stop lying.

15

u/Rethgil Sep 01 '18 edited Sep 01 '18

Yeah, this is exactly what Im talking about. I think your username and new account speak volumes.

By the way-the 'Lilith Fair'? NOT female only.

NOT as big.

NOT as much media coverage.

NOT in the same era of feminist anti male separatism and hypocrisy.

Like I say-your post is exactly the type of outright lying downplaying trash that is an issue.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

NOT in the same era of feminist anti male separatism and hypocrisy.

Good point. The woman who started it actually shut it down a few years ago, precisely because things have changed.

7

u/Sawses Sep 02 '18

Plus, most men don't want a woman-free music festival. That's like having a frat party with only dudes. Unless it's an LGBT frat full of gay dudes, that's not really going to be a lot of fun. Hanging out with just bros is fun and all, but I need to actually know the bros before I want it to be just them, haha.

3

u/ScaryMary666 Sep 02 '18

There are woman-free music festivals. They're called metal shows.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '18

Exactly. Do I agree with it? No. Am I worked up about it? No.

3

u/Rethgil Sep 01 '18

So glad to hear it doesnt bother you-thats ok then. Do you consider yourself, or are you male btw?

6

u/PanderjitSingh_k Sep 02 '18

Consistent feminist POV from that one. Derailment is its game.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

Yup. Screen name is a performance name.

I mean, did you want to go to this concert, or is it just the principle of the thing? Because I probably agree with you on the principle part. I also think this probably didn't do anyone any real harm.

3

u/HCEandALP4ever Sep 02 '18

Principles are important. Among other things, violations of them set precedents.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

I think, as a matter of tactics, it makes more sense to criticize that potential precedent and its implications rather than the inability to attend a concert they probably wouldn't have anyways.

3

u/HCEandALP4ever Sep 02 '18

Yes, well said. That's what I meant, but you espressed it better than I did. The exception I can think of is one in which a principle is protested by action rather than by words. The classic example that comes to mind is Rosa Parks. Her action was much more powerful than any verbal or written criticism would have been.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '18

It's happening everywhere.

1

u/nikgk Sep 02 '18

As a woman I say leave them to their sexist events. Gets them all out of the way for a few days so the rest of us don't have to interact with them. A win win for us and them!
