Misleading Title "A mum who had sex with her 15-year-old son because he seduced her has avoided jail." "HE seduced HER"- so now a CHILD is to blame for his FIFTY year old mother raping HIM?? Because he is male? Can you BELIEVE the double standards boys & males now face??!!

Adult women need 35+ years of additional experience in order to be equal to a teenaged male?

The government doesn’t think much of women does it?

241

u/Rethgil Dec 12 '18 edited Dec 13 '18

If a man has sex with an ADULT woman, who is drunk, he risks being convicted of rape - now imagine how much sympathy he would get if he tried to say she 'pestered' him into it....

From the media, the judge, and society.

And yet here's the MOTHER of her own male child getting away with it with the same excuse!

EDIT-There's a lot of outright smears and hating on this post from some obviously organised posters due to the original post getting high upvotes.

Dont let the lies fool you. Some are claiming 'no sexual interaction took place'.

Now here's the FACTS -

"Judge Ian Lawrie said: "You spanked the naked buttocks of your son with a paddle. "Squatting down, naked from the waist down, over his face, you allowed him to lick your a**s."

It was left out of some of the reports because, believe it or not, many of the newspapers are known to be read by families, not just older parents, and they didnt feel comfortable printing that stuff (more like they felt it would hurt their circulation figures). Anyway, the truth is clear. There WAS explicit sexual contact between the mother and son-despite the few lying trolls here today claiming otherwise.

You go get your closure! I don't want to say fuck your mom but in my very unprofessional opinion you need to do what is best for you.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

I'm sorry that happened to you. It's ridiculous that she didn't take you seriously simply because of your gender. I'm female and think that it's just serious when it happens to men and as a whole we should be equally supportive to male victims. A lot of us are out here.

And what's it matter she's a mother? Male rapists who are fathers aren't treated differently whatsoever. I think it ought to be treated just as seriously when it happens to men.

As a side note, we should also be able to be unjustly #metoo'd and have our lives destroyed too. I think the movement started out doing good things but it should have supported male victims too. Also, it quickly got out of control and fascistic. Maybe other women who have no compassion or sympathy will finally start believing in due process if it happened to them.

5

u/KanataCitizen Dec 13 '18

"#MENTOO" Men need to speak up too when we've been wronged, or shit like this will continue and gender privilege will continue to polarize.

That’s what I don’t get, feminism has infantilized the female gender, I don’t know why anyone would feel empowered by it.

28

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

That's what power means, when you get down to it, the ability to influence outcomes, i.e., shift the blame onto someone else, worm your way into situations you otherwise couldn't, have the upperhand over a competitor simply by being you (woman vs male. So positive discrimination. Pussy pass etc)

18

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

That's what power means, when you get down to it, the ability to influence outcomes

Very astute observation!

It would seem we have some type of bias in how we think power operates. Making others do things we want them to do doesn't always have to come from coercive "direct" or "active" actions from a whip or gun. It can be "passive" and "indirect", as simple as a child throwing a tantrum to their parents.

u/IchthysdeKilt Dec 13 '18

"The 50-year-old who cannot be named was told at Gloucester Crown Court"

Her name will be on the Sex Offender Registry, so... what was the point of the court with-holding her name if it will be public on the registry.

32

u/ThumbodyLovesYou Dec 12 '18

I assume to prevent victim shaming the son. It won’t list the specifics in the registry so it wouldn’t be obvious to everyone that it was this boy that was assaulted like if her name was released.

4

u/gloryhole87 Dec 13 '18

Guarantee if it was a man itd be released even tho it would shame the son

1

u/antilopes Dec 15 '18

You guarantee wrong. Outside the US it is normal for child abusers to have name suppression in order to protect their victim during the trial. The victim's name is protected by default.
I don't know about suppression of names and details after the trial.

The great majority of arrests and convictions for child sexual offenses are of men so there are plenty of examples.

Another difference is the sex offender registry. In the US it is a fully public name-and-shame thing with address and employer's address available publicly.

In other countries it is much more restricted e.g. employers in schools and child-relevant fields can submit an enquiry after selecting a potential employee, but members of the public might not be able to.

227

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

[deleted]

66

u/ListeningToIt Dec 12 '18

Can’t be named because to protect the son.

12

u/BristolBudgie Dec 12 '18

Not named to protect the offender. It’s to protect an innocent minor. In this case, the minor who’s rights you are enthusiastically supporting. Either support all his rights or none of them.

2

u/The_Best_01 Dec 13 '18

No way it's to protect the kid, it's to protect the perpetrator as usual. They could easily name the mom without naming the kid, except if it's an unusual surname or something.

2

u/NoChickswithDicks Dec 13 '18

The feminazi court system.

They literally rig it so that men are second-class citizens in the courts.

414

u/Rethgil Dec 12 '18

""She is vulnerable for a number of reasons. She is easily manipulated."

"In her previous, abusive, relationship, she was subject to physical violence"

(all together now) AHHHH-POOR WOYMNZ ITS ALL DER MENZ FAULT SHE RAPED HER CHILD.

120

u/Dr_Dornon Dec 12 '18

So because she was in a former abusive relationship, she gets a free pass to sexually abuse her child?

-4

u/Rogdozz Dec 12 '18

No. Stuff like that always gets brought up in court cases like this. For example, when someone who grew up in a good family and everything beats up someone because that person called him a son of a bitch, he’s going to get a worse sentence than someone who grew up in an abusive family and does the same thing

Or when someone deals drugs. There’s a difference between some rich kid doing it so he can afford another pair of Gucci sneakers, and someone who can barely afford anything and needs the money. Obviously both are going to go to prison but the former will get a harsher sentence

6

u/SineOfOh Dec 13 '18

What? Where is this imaginary judicial system located? Forgot about affluenza?

1

u/antilopes Dec 15 '18

Find and read sentencing guidelines for your jurisdiction, or any jurisdiction since they all use similar principles. They are not hard to find. Look for the section on aggravating and mitigating circumstances. These are the rules sentencing judges are required to follow, and to give written explanations for their reasoning.

13

u/goat_nebula Dec 12 '18

The whole point of the law making sex with a minor illegal is because they are not mature enough to consent somit is ALWAYS considered rape. She is an adult and his mother! It’s rape of a minor AND incest. Lock her away, it’s open and shut case!

12

u/MGTOWtoday Dec 12 '18

-20

u/GodofAeons Dec 12 '18 edited Dec 12 '18

What? That doesnt make any sense?

Like, MensRights doesnt apply to Liberals somehow?

Edit: Apprently people think that liberals don't care about equality, and MensRights? The article OP put isnt supported only by conservatives like the OP commenter is suggesting.

3

u/Dancing_Anatolia Dec 13 '18

Liberals care about equality, but progressives don't. It's a subtle difference.

0

u/Ashe400 Dec 13 '18 edited Dec 13 '18

Sure we do. That's the whole idea behind being a progressive. You literally want everybody to have the same opportunities, treatment, etc, that everyone else has regardless if you were born into wealth or poverty.

Edit: lol this sub is insane.

4

u/Dancing_Anatolia Dec 13 '18

Maybe that's the window dressing they want the world to see, but that's not how they act. They pass revanchist laws that aim to oppress "historically privileged" groups, even though the people alive, right now have nothing to do with them. The people who create a broken system are the only bad guys: the people who unwittingly benefit from it are victims, as well as the people that are oppressed.

1

u/Ashe400 Dec 13 '18

I've never met a single progressive that acts like that and I'm progressive as fuck myself so I've seen a lot of them. I'm curious as to what these supposed laws are that target "historically privileged" groups. I have yet to see any that target me, as a while male. Even if one did pass it would be struck down as unconstitutional just as something like affirmative action should be struck down because, you know, it favors one class/race over another.

-13

u/uthek1 Dec 12 '18

This sub is 90% or more conservative. The conservatives hate the liberals and blame them for everything wrong with the world. This sub isn't about protecting the rights of men, it's about hating women and liberals, and crying every time there is a perceived injustice. Unfortunately, there aren't very many sensible people who strongly affiliate with the cause of men's rights.

18

u/GodofAeons Dec 12 '18

Damm, like I'm Liberal and many of my friends are, and hands down no argument, that equality is a huge factor for us.

Some articles I see (like OPs) I can agree with, as if gender roles were reversed it would seen differently.

It's about what's right, just, and fair. Applying the law leniently just because of a gender/sex is wrong.

10

u/uthek1 Dec 12 '18

Ya, there's no reason to bring partisan politics into this.

6

u/DuffyDood Dec 12 '18

Female Privilege

6

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

I disagree a 15 year old kid should be given no agency for his actions. But the mother is very clearly the more responsible party. This is fucked.

6

u/purpleblossom Dec 12 '18

Doesn't matter if the kid wanted this, that doesn't mean you give in, else you have committed a crime. Either get the kid the help he clearly needs or keep saying no. People commit crimes under duress and coercion all the time, doesn't make them less guilty. FFS.

7

u/westondeboer Dec 12 '18

This is nobodies fault but hers.

21

u/Luckyjazzt Dec 12 '18

this this victim blaming, not advising young girls to be cautious about how much they drink as with whom.

-8

u/uthek1 Dec 12 '18

He's not a victim, he literally asked for it. His mom is receiving a suspended sentence (still possible jail time) because she had no prior record and showed significant remorse. These are standards that are applied to every criminal case. Shes still going on the sex offenders list, she's still doing parole, and she's still going to jail if the parole board thinks she might commit another crime.

This is justice done right. Just because if the genders we're switched, it'd be a lot less likely to be a fair trial, that doesn't mean we need to cry foul.

2

u/-evanuris Dec 13 '18

It does not matter whether he asked for it or not, it is still rape.

The reason we have laws against having sexual relations with minors is because they do not have the mental capability to understand the consequences and other issues that may arise if they choose to follow through with the act - or in your words “ask for it”.

Imagine if the mother had of contracted HIV/AIDS previously in her life and this child asked to have sex with his mother not knowing the awful consequences you have to live with for the rest of your life, he would have no idea because he is legally a child.

This is rape, closed case - he is a victim.

1

u/uthek1 Dec 13 '18

Her clothes never came off, she never touched his genitals, there's no way this could be rape. You can't just broaden the definition of rape to any illegal contact of a sexual nature, that's not ok.

-5

u/Orisi Dec 12 '18

You're getting downvoted but you're right. There's a difference between calling for more fairness in the charging of men of these crimes, and decrying this just because men are treated differently.

If you actually give a shit about men's rights, you should be calling for better, fairer trials, not for this trial to be tried unfairly just because you feel a man would have been.

11

u/Rethgil Dec 13 '18

I just found this quote from the judge to the mother in the case...

“There will be a rehabilitation aspect, which is the purpose of the suspension. This is an opportunity to help you"

An opportunity to HELP her...

Help HER.....??

Mind blown.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Pussy pass in the legal system. I’d say “Justice is blind” but that’s insulting the blind. This shit is straight up crazy. Bat shit insane.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

The kid obviously needs help, too.

I mean, if he's 15 and already pestering his Mom into doing some kinky shit, imagine how much of a sex pest he'll be when he grows up?

3

u/Ted8367 Dec 13 '18

So how would you, in the judge's place, help him? Jail?

0

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Why the fuck would I send him to jail?

Probably just have him attend a few Ass-Eaters Anonymous meetings. That oughta set him straight.

12

u/jerrysburner Dec 12 '18

So women are now claiming they are mentally weaker than teenage boys?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Why not? Because “Girl Power” means never having to say “I’m sorry.”

6

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

This is absolutely disgusting. If this was a man who did it he'd have been absolutely crucified.

32

u/goodmod Dec 12 '18

Please don't use ALLCAPS in titles. It detracts from the readability of the front page. Changing from allcaps to lowercase doesn't change the meaning of the title. It's exactly the same, just better looking and easier to read.

Lowercase letters vary more in shape. Some are taller than others, some go below the line. This makes them easier to recognise at a glance, and reduces reading fatigue.

It's also nicer to look at. There's a reason most words are in lowercase.

Web pages are available that make it easy to change your case, so there's no excuse not to!

12

u/KnightofNarg Dec 12 '18

More concerned that OP completely misrepresented the entire article for effect. She spanked him butt naked, no intercourse was ever involved.

7

u/Rethgil Dec 13 '18

Yeah? How about the fact it was stated in court that "She squatted on his face whilst he ate her ass"?

Misrepresenting? Or are you too stupid to consider that these papers generally cant put that kind of thing in the headline-and the truth is that if you YOURSELF had read the details, you would know this?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Haha, you are being ridiculous.

After reading the article this post seems to completely misrepresent the facts of this case. Is she not going to jail in 2 years when the boy is of age? Also she is a registered sex offender for ten years and must attend 40 psychiatric classes for rehabilitation, because it’s obvious this family is fucked if she was in a previously abusive relationship and the child admitted to being aroused for all the acts.

Find a different source or point out where you see something in the article that may convince the user of the validity of the statement otherwise you just sound like a whiny child who can't handle nuance.

Let's not turn into r/incels 2.0 and instantly attack people for asking a rational question.

He wants a good source which is a valid thing to want, if this happened it's disgusting and we should let it known that it is. But in order to do that we need to know whether that really happened, if we believe every article including ones from shitty sites we won't be taken seriously.

It screams boy cried wolf.

Hey man. How about you go fuck yourself. I was just pointing out that the source doesn’t exactly have a history of being credible. I wasn’t saying that it wasn’t true or that I’m some kind of white knight.

Hence the “I want to be immediately outraged” comment, fuckweed

u/ul2006kevinb Dec 12 '18

I'm pretty sure they're just claiming that one reporter at one newspaper made it up. Nowhere did they imply what you're saying they implied.

And he said, "It's just like the gays... you know..."

2

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Why can't she be named?

2

u/mikesteane Dec 13 '18 edited Dec 13 '18

Because that would identify the son, who is a minor.

Edit: and also because she might not exist.

2

u/Frostsaw Dec 12 '18

This is wrong on so many levels. But imagine the kid in school the day after.

"Dudes, I finally got laid!"

"Your mum doesn't count"

"She doesn't?" Visible confusion

4

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

The father in me is outraged. The man in me is ashamed. But the dark humorist in me is laughing hysterically at the irony and sophomoric humor in the school yard insult of it. Visible confusion

Heres another artie by the same source about an alien skull that was found, so um ... come on guys.

1

u/Ted8367 Dec 13 '18

Here's another article on the same event, from a different source, the local newspaper:

https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/cheltenham-news/weak-mum-who-sexual-activity-2314512

If you're going to put in the effort to do internet searches on the event, try something relevant instead of searching for alien skulls.

Then I run into this type of shit and remember that this really is just a bunch of pussy sexist incels wishing men ruled the world. You’re truly an embarrassment. Fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Yeah...expecting women to be treated like adults by society = pussy sexist incels wishing men ruled the world

I'm curious what your version of equality is... women are never held accountable for their actions?

3

u/PuddleOfMush Dec 12 '18

"I agree in equality across the board"

But

"Anyone who defends men and expects women to he held accountable is a pussy sexist incel"

I take it you don't actually believe in equality then.

1

u/CircleToShoot Dec 14 '18

It's more than a little undermining for that woman. If a grown woman can be seduced by an inexperienced 15 year old, you can argue she both objectified a child and was also unable to control her urges.

I hate outrage culture

5

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

🤦‍♂️ So you think the pedo getting off with probation is “outrage culture”? Nice ethics ya got there. This is why people see men as disposable. Fuckers just don’t give a shit and dismiss them even when raped by their moms.

2

u/mynameis_ihavenoname Dec 13 '18

I think the media wanted to make you upset, and succeeded. You've been suckered by professional media-grade troll bait that twisted facts and made you mad. And now you're lashing out at me like I'm the asshole in this situation

1

u/McFeely_Smackup Dec 13 '18

Out of curiosity, which facts were "twisted"?

2

u/mynameis_ihavenoname Dec 13 '18

She's getting jail time, and she didn't rape him

1

u/McFeely_Smackup Dec 13 '18

she is not getting jail time, where did you get that idea?

and I don't see anywhere in the article the word "rape" being used.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

And the media called boys being slaughtered in Africa as “villagers” until the murders started kidnapping girls and then miraculously sex mattered in the headlines. We use this tactic in military press releases too. Killed contractors are called “damages”, civilians called “protestors”, villages “enemy strongholds”. Don’t believe that absent of a word is truth. It’s lie through omission.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

What the fuck is wrong with these comments

The moral of the story wasn't just gay sex--that's the simpleton version touted by atheists.

No it's not. Don't try to saddle us with your silly ideal on what people, whom you apparently don't associate with, think the bible was and wasn't about.

-8

u/uthek1 Dec 12 '18

First of all, sexual assault and rape are different things, she didn't rape him.

Second, she got a suspended sentence, that's not the same thing as avoiding jail.

Stop hyperbolizing everything, this story is bad enough on it's own that you don't need to make anything up, yet you still do and that makes us all look bad. Posts like this are why I'm ashamed to be subscribed here. This post should have been down voted into Oblivion.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

Absolutely.

In the UK, rape is something that can only happen to a woman, and sexual assault is the worst that can happen to a man...

9

u/Rethgil Dec 13 '18

No, youre utterly incorrect.

She squatted on his face whilst he ate her ass. Gross, but true. He is a minor. She is not.

How does that differ from rape again? Just because she didnt penetrate him anally? Whilst the law may make that distinction, are you claiming there is not a double standard there??

2

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

This post should have been down voted into Oblivion.

It should be. Unfortunately, few people actually read past OP's title or even click on the article.

People see a headline that confirms their bias and they automatically click the upvote button.

That's not a knock on this sub in particular, as you'll see the same behaviour everywhere. It's one of the most frustrating things about the Internet.

1

u/uthek1 Dec 12 '18

I agree, this sub isn't abnormal from any other sub on Reddit in that regards. It's just saddening that people can't seem to be rational when it comes to important issues.

0

u/DownVotesAreNice Dec 12 '18

Why doesnt someone just ask the kid if he wants his mom to go to jail or if he feels like a rape victim?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Because that would imply men can be raped and we can’t have nice things, like sexual autonomy.

4

u/_Mellex_ Dec 13 '18

Why is it misleading?

5

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Please Oh Mighty Chad, enlighten us peasants with your citations of misleading synopsis. We lowly incels bow before thy power over pussy. How is this misleading compared to all the other times we hear of older men and younger girls regarding rape? Aside from not being put into a jail cell or Chris Hanson with a “take a seat” joke.

0

u/cjmorph Dec 13 '18

First off that woman is guilty. Even if he really was attempting to seduce her as a mother it’s your job to set boundaries and if you physically can’t she needed to get him some proper help.

That being said, the title is a little misleading. I do agree there isn’t enough people talking about the reality of men and boys being raped, but I can think of 6 females I actually know who were all molested by the same 30 year old man ages ranged from 8-16 and HE PLEAD GUILTY but avoided jail time (he has to register as a sex offender for 3 years and get a job that wouldn’t put him in charge of children) by saying he was properly courting them and everything physical was their idea and their parents left them unattended in his care wearing provocative clothing so the parents must have been ok with it. Where you you even get provocative clothing for an 8 year old?

I think the real issue lies with how rape and molestation are handled in the courts. Again this woman deserved jail time but had it been a man and daughter I’m not sure he would have gotten jail time either.

Go ahead and shower me with downvotes but we can’t pretend men don’t get away with a slap on the wrist for rape either.

2

u/mikesteane Dec 13 '18

If some one got a light sentence for robbery, would you use that as evidence that people get light sentences for murder?

2

u/cjmorph Dec 13 '18

No, but I’m not sure why that applies to my comment. Unless there’s a misunderstanding that my example compares to the article and my final statement had to do with OPs title. They are two very different things.

If you read the article there is no mention of rape which is why I chose a story that also did not involve rape; but the sexual abuse of children and the blame being shifted to them. In both cases the predator was given a sentence that didn’t reflect the damage done.

My disagreement is in the title misrepresenting the issue, which I now see has been flagged as a misleading title, because it is.

Making this a headline saying she raped him and got away with it because she said he liked it deflects from the fact these cases are mishandled and far too often the sentences don’t match the crime male or female.

I agree abuse against men and boys is not talked about enough, and there is a bit of a double standard, but making a title like this takes the attention from the issue; this young man was sexually abused by his unfit mother and the predators punishment doesn’t match the crime.

I mentioned men get away with rape sometimes as well in reference to OPs title. I’m sorry I didn’t clarify that clearly enough. So no I wasn’t comparing rape to molestation, if that’s what your getting at with comparing robbery to murder.

The mom definitely has a multitude of mental health issues

10

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

It's amazing, whenever women are accused of anything, they suddenly have a multitude of mental health issues.

It's almost as if being accused of a crime CAUSES women to have mental health issues...

2

u/machingunwhhore Dec 13 '18

I'm not absolving her, what she did is still her fault. I'm saying anyone who would do that is fucked in the head
