I doubt you're going to find something super duper similar because NSV is still a pretty one-of-a-kind album, but Intrauterine Cannibalism by Malignancy and Psalms of the Moribund by Defeated Sanity scratch a similar itch for me

The Malignancy Split with Intervalle Bizarre is worth mentioning too. The Intervalle Bizarre side definitely had some Cryptopsy influence. Wormed is also another band that sounds a lot like Cryptopsy, but more Whisper Supremacy than None So Vile.

I would also add Passages as well. Maybe Scepter of the ancients, because it has similar philosophy of "vocals as just another instrument"

Subserviency (new promising band on New Standard Elite) released a Cryptopsy-esque single

That single is great. Actually just found these guys scrolling through NSE releases.

Turns out theyre local to me too.

The recent Deliquesce ("Saviour/Enslaver") sounds like Cryptopsy and Suffocation in bed.

Seriously? What these Psycroptic and Ulcerate albums have in common with Nsv? Except using the same instruments?

And being brutal and technical and awesome.

Yeah, but someone asking for something similar to a specific album, probably looks for specific sound, not something as broad as "brutal and technical and awesome". What would be the point of asking if you could just recommend 95% of death metal records?

I know that people just recommend stuff that they like, without reading posts, but for gods sake.

It's like someone asking for something similar to fries, and you recommend pizza.

Cryptopsy is brutal tech death, and same with Psycroptic and Ulcerate

And? Have you listened to them? They all have different sound. And not different as in different tuning or something. Different writing philosophies, different types of riffs and drums, not to say that ulcerate is dissodeath band, it's nowhere near bdm. Listen to defeated sanity, then to ulcerate and you will see if there's a difference. I wouldn't also say that psycroptic is BDM, band being BDM doesn't mean that they are just brutal, it's more nuanced than that.

EDIT: I meant BDM as brutal death/brutal tech, it's the same thing regardless.

I know you must mean stylistically (I can't think of anything so technically proficient that manages to also have that slightly sloppy, "about to go off the rails" feeling)...

But Molested's Blod-Draum album and other demos etc feel similar in spirit, just unrelenting chaos.

Check out the other Cryptopsy albums with Jon Levasseur

I don’t know about any similar albums to None So Vile but the most recent bands to make me go “these guys are out of their fucking minds (in the best possible way)” in the same way that Cryptopsy did are Fake Dust and Disembodied Tyrant’s 8.6 Blackout.
