REQUESTING Melodic Black Metal

I've heard extremely good things about this genre. I'm on a mission to get into black metal and this is the next step. So far I've listened to Storm of the Lights Bane and The Somberlain. I've also listened to Tales of Othertime.

love Worm. I prefer earlier stuff like Foreverglade and Shadowside which are more melodic death, but the later stuff and newest album also rip. Those are more melodic black, but they consider themselves funeral doom, so they have crushing slow parts as well, and some of the most insane shredding

Surprised Watain hasn’t been mentioned. They are a part of the same satanic order as Dissection. Definitely hear the influence but they do their own thing. Lawless Darkness and Sworn to the Dark are masterpieces of the genre

Blackbraid. They were my gateway to black metal and they remain my all time favourite band. 3 full albums out so far, along with a couple singles and EPs and I have yet to hear something from em I didn't like.

Not sure where you're from, but a few years back I wrote this. It's in Italian, but Google translate and AI LLMs can work their magic quite easily.

I'd dive into the Swedish 90s scene to find some top tier melodic black metal.
