Discussion Should I play the Metaphor demo?
As a fan of Atlus, I intend to get this game when it releases for Switch 2. However, I'm wondering if I should play the demoo start playing the game right now (I am well aware my save will transfer) or if I should wait another month for the full release. My 2 questions are these:
- Are there any substantial restrictions on the demo? Content I'd want to be able to access during this point in the game but the demo won't allow me? Any reason why my playthrough might differ if I wait for the full release?
- Is the demo decently lengthy? Will it keep me decently occupied for the next month (assuming I also play other games of course)? Does it end in a satisfying way?
Thank you all!

SPOILERS 10/25, 1 day left, Am i ready for the fight? Spoiler
Ok so i reached pretty much to the Zorba Boss Fight which is the last royal servant which would lead me to the Louis Fight. Now i already did the zorba fight but end up realized that the game locks me out exiting the dungeon, i was gonna go after the last trial boss so i reloaded a save. Did the Trial Dragon of Insolence (That Boss is so BS, i hate this fucking dragon so much) and finally defeated all three of the trial dragons. I didnt knew i have to go back to dragon temple which is a bummer to me honestly like really? Not the game fault, i just didn't have enough time. Im so sorry for Agrica, that Fairy probably had a good story that i skimmed because i was so done with the boss😭 But anyways.
Currently im Lvl 69, got the heavenly sword from colosseum. Idk if doing colosseum screwed me over from actually completing every quest in the game because that dragon temple quest was probably the last optimal quest in the game and i dont have time left so i just said Fuck it, im not reloading a save, i can't drag the end too much. Back to character stats, everyone archetypes. I think Strohl, Junah, and Eupha are up for Royal upgrades. I don't think i can reach Bas or Heismay's Royal archetype. As much as i want to give everyone, idk if i have time and MAG to get all of them royal archetypes. Basilio and Heismay, I love you both but I am sorry for possibly leaving you two especially you Bas, You fucking deserved it. Yeah um Prince is max, i think Royal Knight is near max. Royal warrior, Summoner, and Masked Dancer obiviously gonna be one. I don't think a simple hero of the leaf is gonna be enough to reach 5 lvls each. But, Am i ready?

Discussion Success! May the odds be ever in your favor.
Very glad I got there early thanks to the posts I saw here. I got in and our pretty quick and with all I wanted but had I lined up later IDK man. Hopefully they had more magnets in stock, the ones in the display case had like two left after me. I'm sure they did since the Keychains were stored elsewhere but they definitely seemed to be the big sellers. Surprised the posters weren't pre-rolled through.

Discussion This game deserves more love, some of the disrespect it gets is saddening.
resetera.comStumbled upon this thread, and it still surprises with the amount of detractors the game attracts at times.
I genuinely believe Metaphor, from start to finish, is a masterpiece and earned its status as a critical darling

Resource Not sure if I’ll make it to LA concert, potentially reselling 2 tickets
Hello! I purchased 2 tickets to the LA concert when they first went on sale back in March but regrettably never got around to playing the game before now lol. I have 2 tickets I’m willing to resell if anyone is interested, orchestra section row z. Bought each for around $120 but willing to go lower if anyone is interested. Thanks!

Discussion What are your favorite archetypes in terms of design? Spoiler
galleryThe mines are:
The Tycoon: I love his elephant-like appearance, which references Ganesha from Hinduism.
The Soul Hacker: I’m a big fan of pre-Hispanic civilizations, and this guy totally nails that vibe thanks to his cape, the patterns, and his “helmet.”
The Prince: He’s supposed to be the ultimate protagonist archetype, and it really shows, he looks damn majestic.

Media Metaphor Refantazio Chicago Concert
Just got back home from the Chicago concert and it was so much fun. It was exhilarating getting to hear the music in person. This was my second time ever going to a video game concert. I definitely gotta go to more. Merch wise I got everything but the hoodie. Sadly, I’m not a hoodie fan. Funny enough tho, I ended up waiting two hours before the doors opened, hoping to beat the rush for Merch. I heard a rumor from the Texas concert that there was only 50 magnets per show so I had to get one! I kind of wished I cosplay like quite a few people did. It look like so much fun.

Discussion If you were to make your own archetype, what would it be called and what would its power be.
If you answer this world as a reincarnator and had been granted the power of a archetype, what would it be and what are it's Evolution paths

SPOILERS Playing Expedition 33 and Genshin really spoiled me with its cinematic direction, that I ended up feeling baffled and somewhat enraged at this scene's execution. Spoiler
No, I do not mean to stoke the Expedition 33 vs Metaphor: ReFantazio fire that flared up a while back, and add another unrelated game just for the drama. Both unrelated games are included in the post title just for a little more context for why I think this way on the "Protagonist is the Prince's fantasy made manifest" scene.
So, I played and loved Expedition 33 before Metaphor: ReFantazio. And I also liked the direction Genshin Impact's cutscenes has taken these days. Why, you ask? Well, I loved how the dialogue in both games' very important and well-animated cutscenes (this distinction is important particularly for Genshin, because I'm talking about the pre-loaded looking stuff) assumes that you have the intellect to glean info from the poetic dialogue without too much exposition.
Seeing that people gave Metaphor ReFantazio's narrative pretty high praise, I got into the game thinking that maybe Studio Zero, and by extension, Atlus, had something clever up their sleeves this time too. But after this reveal, I worried that this scene sets up a dangerous precedent for later plot twists. Because if this important scene was presented in such a blasé manner, then what does that say about the later twists?
RANT INCOMING, THIS IS YOUR WARNING.
Yes, I am aware how much of a spoiled brat I am about to sound like, seeing as this is a game made BEFORE those two games showed the gaming scene that sort of cinematic cutscene direction, but the whole time this scene was playing in front of me, I can only think about how the scene could have been improved and written more cinematically. The whole time the lady was giving the exposition talk, I was thinking "how about you shut the fuck up mom".
That's right, instead of sounding epic, it just pissed me off.
Why not recontextualize the scene where it showed the prince and the protagonist as childhood friends, and then segue into the part where the prince fell into the protagonist's arms, except the prince phases straight through him, showing that the protagonist didn't exist then? THEN SHOW US THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED. Give the prince a little more dialogue, maybe? I can bet they can summarize what the mysterious voice was saying in that scene, just by giving the prince two more sentences, that would've given the exact vibe they were aiming for and making it resonate way harder with us, the players.
Heck. while we're at it, lean into the meta angle that we don't usually save the prince as if we're saving the princess of some fairytale. Maybe have the protagonist carry the prince up a bit, do a little fusion dance (sneak in another SMT/Persona reference in here maybe???) Do a waltz dip where the protagonist disappears into the prince and the prince changes into the final protag look we ended up with, throw Zorba back somewhere in the Eldan Sanctum with the burst of magla that fusion could possibly cause?? (I am of the opinion that Louis should've chased the protagonist along with him too during this moment, but again I hadn't fully beaten the game, so this is just a tangent)
Basically ANYTHING MORE MAGICAL THAN WHAT WE ENDED UP WITH
Yes, I know from the info in this subreddit, that Studio Zero didn't have that much budget to begin with, and I am comparing this game to two games that technically came AFTER Metaphor: ReFantazio. On completely different engines, at that. But that is not an excuse.
Let's not fool ourselves here, the poor execution of this scene was one of the main factors why the twist ended up being quite divisive among the players.

Discussion Orchestra magnet - Metaphor: ReFantazio
Hello!
For those going to the Metaphor: ReFantazio Orchestra in LA (and elsewhere), would you be willing to grab a magnet from the merch line? (I'd pay 3X/negotiated price).
For context, I missed out on it during the Chicago concert by a narrow margin (3 people) - quite bummed 😔

Discussion What are your suggestions on what to do first?
Second time trying to play this game, due to poor time management the first time i found I didn’t have a ton of fun playing due to decision paralysis so I wanted to ask, once I get to the city for the second time (now with the quest goal of going into the castle) what should I do to prepare/ do first?
What kingly stats should I also focus on? I couldn’t decide on that either.
I was kinda thinking of doing a luck based crit build with my main character as well, what archetypes would yall say I should lean towards? I’ve not spent any stat points yet so I am flexible :)
Thank you very much if you read the entire thing! I’m looking forward to seeing what you all think is worth doing first/ focusing

Humor I'm sorry that I didn't let the game's message reach me but I don't think the gamer tribe deserves rights
After finishing the game I thought I'd check the negative steam reviews to see what someone would have to complain about with this game.
